Yes, I did Both Rift and Vive... and I didn't like the low resolution, low FPS and driving while I'm wearing a scuba mask (low FOV). Once the 4k or 8K HMD with 200 FOV comes out I will give it another try...You did try VR I hope...?

I saved for a life long dream. I'm so glad I went with triple instead of vr. Now 3x3400x1400 = 10K rez @ 100fps. I never thought a game could look at crisp while being so fluid smooth. Simxperience is just the best!! Get your monitors close to your wheel with the right FOV for best immersion, it took me a while to figure all out.View attachment 189332
Acer Predator ultra wide X34. 100hz/fps. The x35 is cheaper, larger and less resolution. What screens are you using , i would buy tripples over vr for sure
i got the Asus PG348Q, IPS, curved 1440p and 100Hz, but am planning to sell and go with triple Dell S2617DG, 27inches, 1440p, 144Hz and get true FOV (only TN panel) but can't beat the price and thin bezel. don't get me wrong the Asus is a beauty and works like a charm, but triples curved 21:9 is too much in all sims, and at that price I rather get the 27inch monitors. and i run all off 1x Titan X (nvidia maxwell).
I have dual GTX 1080 in SLI mode... in AC, if you really want to positively impact your fps, lower your reflection frequency and quality.what video cards are you running to get 100hz? i was looking at this one AOC AGON AG352UCG it is 100hz g-sync 3440x1440
i run tripple 24inch 1080p monitors on one 980ti waterforce but already struggle to get 60 plus fps on decent settings
too much, means almost all sims stretch the ultra wide in triple setup and looks aweful on the sides, except iRacing. but you don't get true FOV with Ultra Wides, i was considering it as well before but true FOV is achieved with triple 27" screens. there are some threads here and there, will search to post here where calculated true FOV and what is needed in a sim setup for the same. and comes out 27" or 28" triples are right distance to eyes and angle of side screens gives you true FOV. (don't get me wrong, i am huge fab of ultra wide and large screens)what do you mean by to much???
another one i am interested in is the 31,5 inch AOC AG322QCX it is 1440p 16:9 144hz but free sync

I just have to agree with you there. Im only racing with as Oculus DK2 with lots of super sampling, but i still get lost in the illusion of VR.I've already posted my setup a while back, but have since completely switched over to the Oculus CV1. Don't want this to turn into VR vs Tripples etc, but the immersion in VR vs anything else I've experienced, there really isn't a comparison. Gazillion screens, button boxes don't come close to feeling/sitting inside the real thing in VR IMO. Some very nice setups tbough!
Nice rig! Where'd you find that mount for the tablet above the center monitor?View attachment 173497.My Little Set-Up.
