Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Hectic describes quite nicely.

The problem I had when driving (comparatively) closely that small changes in driver input had big consequences.

So when the driver in front brake 1m earlier I had to slam the brakes or punt him off.
I find that makes following closely and setting up an overtake quite difficult.

Not to mention the metric butt ton of mistakes we saw today.
(some of which made me piss away P6 in the second race:cry:)

Has anybody else had the feeling that in the second race the car was way more slidy, so as if Jim had cocked up and put on used tyres?? ( I reloaded the setup in the commercial brake, so it must have been Jim´s fault)

Or maybe I had front wing damaged from the cherished "T1cluster****(TM)"

Side question:

did the second grid seem as reverse grid or random to you?

MFG Carsten

Took some time to find a rhythmnhmn in me racing this track. It's a nice track with a high sense of speed, like Ernie mentioned. Focus in full gear.

Decent qualy, ok time. Very carefull at the start, managed to avoid a scramble ahead of me. Chasing Paul and being chased by Han, in the end Steve got me. P8, one spot up from qualy position.

Had a rocket start race 2, passing lots of cars on the right before the first corner, that was fun! In the lead for two laps, Fulvio, Axel and Hank flashing by in the next. Followed by Thomas and Steve. And Carsten later on, after he was filling my mirrors more and more. Locked brakes and touched a bit, sorry Carsten, so back to the chase, but from a nice position this time. Could do a nice average pace, some mistakes but able to finish 6th place. Happy with that, fast guys were way too fast. But I'm starting to get some more control over the throttle and brakes. Still missing a lot of apexes, so lots to learn and gain still!

Thanks guys, congrats to the podium and finishers, thanks Markus!

Popped into Fulvio car, I was 7 seconds off the pace when I arrived. Very interesting, learnt how to take the corners and found out why he is so quick.
And where I am loosing time, one thing for certain I am not going to be a Fulvio, and I don’t want to be, luckily.
A most instructive 20 minutes before the race.
I would preferred to stand behind him, but I am pretty sure there is no need.
So really enjoyed my 60 minutes of education, not keen on putting that much effort into my racing though.
All too frantic for me,:)
But enjoyable

Enjoyable race overall although i nearly rage quite on the 1st lap of the 1st race. I got hit by someone that slowed me to the point that every member of the back half of the grid seemed to take it in turns to hit me also.
Easy to happen i know but strangely i don't get upset when it is someone else in that situation . Anyway fought my way back to mid field so not a complete disaster.
Second race was fine, spending most of it trying to hang onto Thomas and Hank until i spun out. Lost a place to Carsten but was able to recover it due to his own problem keeping it all together.
So, overall it was ok but probably did not justify all the time i put in trying to master this track.
Looking forward to the next one. (prefer the 60 min race though) Only because it gives more time to correct a mistake.
Thanks again Markus, it all appears to be going nice and smooth

Wing it Markus,

i really think after 23 races it will sort its self out.
If it does not then come up with a formula that pleases all.
Please don't do it alphabetical in case its me or Carsten :roflmao:
I actually like the "alphabetical order" idea because in the current draw of the standings it would put me above Paul.

I admit it´s a futile discussion at this point, but not making a decision up front is the best way to have a :

"NO, MARKUS, NO, this is soo not right"

mug coming your way ;)

Google docs is correct. The emperor server would award way too many points in a round with two Sprint races.
Markus, I think as an admin you can make changes to the points in the championship. I don't know if it's a lot of work but you could align those two in that way.
And if so there's no need for the Google docs.

I've tried a couple of times - it's really not usable, sadly. So I created the google sheet, and importing into there is a breeze. Hopefully it's not too much of a hurdle for people to use the sheet, I've tried to make it usable and understandable as much as I could.

The two race format certainly spices things up and having just had a chance to take a look at the replays here are my thoughts;

Race one, I avoided the predictable lap 1 coming together and was running well ( or so I thought) around P6/7 when Han tested me twice and I was found seriously lacking in the braking department;):roflmao:.
Thanks for waiting Han, I have known that braking is where I lose time but I might be looking at getting some of them desirable/expensive Dutch pedal sets sometime soon if I can stop as late as you in future:barefoot:.

Race two and with the reverse grid, I ended up as the cause of the T1 chaos as I did a 'Bottas' on, I think, Omar. Apologies Omar, I didn't expect the cars in front of me to slow so early (my braking issues again!!) but I think it was you who I clattered into causing a chain reaction. Sorry  but I waited for the field to go by and managed to finish seventh to match the first race result, even though Omar and Carsten were closing me down in the final minutes.

Well done podiums and thanks Markus for running this series, the racing is intense and frantic but IMHO the car is fun while challenging to drive while giving a bit of a feel what it is like to race F1 , if at a slower pace and for a lot shorter time. Huge respect to those who make it to the top flight of motorsport.
