Division 1 (Alfa X, EndUrance Team)

Intense close racing guys, as the interest is high (let’s hope it stays like that all championship), some serious practicing was put in place before the race by most and as such (in my view) the average skill was high too.

Qualify (4th)

Went ok, the objective was to stick it among the BMW, did a 1.33.3 the fastest I ever went around here with an Alfa extreme.

Race (4th)

Did a good start, kept my grid position, and with exception of the first 2 RPM2 BMW, everyone was within reach.

The race pace from everyone was very close; everyone was doing laps consistently in the 35, sporadically going into the 34 and this meant that with just a small error one could go from 3rd to 12th in an instant.

Early on (I’m 4th) my race adversary was A.Löffler (BMW-BR1), I knew he was a little bit quicker in most parts of the track so as we were in race’s early days didn’t made any big efforts to defend my line. We changed positions 2 times, with Bram’s incident we arrived at the end of the 1st stint close and fighting for 3rd position.

At the start of the 2nd stint it was noticeable that everyone was pretty much with the same pit strategy and more importantly regarding my race at that moment, A.Löffler exited the pits right in front of me. With fresh tyres his race pace was .5 sec faster than mine, so naturally he went away and I slowly went into the grasp of C. Aponte (Alfa–RPM3). From my personal point of view, my goal is always to "win” the particular fight between Alfa & Seat, so when C. Aponte managed to stick his Alfa in front of mine I was really pushing it... Perhaps even overdoing it as I did a few small mistakes and this was clearly my slowest stint. Later Christopher had an exit so I recuperated my 4th place but to the end of the 2nd stint M. V. Bommel (Seat-DRC) and M. Hellén (BMW–BR1) were both on top of me.

The 3rd and final stint was the quickest on average for me, the race pace was around 34/35’s, kept both Martijn and Mikael at safe distance and applied some pressure on 3rd placed M. Skrzypczak (BMW–RPM2). Marcin seemed to be struggling with right side tyre problems; we kept very close until the very last lap when I was hoping to have a go at 3rd place at the end of the interior straight… but before that I did a small mistake entering a previews corner and lost all the moment and with it any possibility of having a go at the 3rd.

In the end was 4th, the same position I had in the grid, which meant I gained (Bram) and lost (Andreas) a position all race. I’m happy with my final result as clearly any mistake here could as well mean an outside top 10 position.

Although I had a better position (was 7th in China), from the all important team’s point of view this was a worst result than in the 1st round (13 in opposition to 16 pts) as only I mange to score some points . I take this opportunity to thank & incite our EndUrance Team replacement driver, T. Kluge as he did well not only by helping the team with a few points (1st race), setups (practice) but also (& above all) he/you didn’t gave up even after the unlucky incident on first lap of this race (going by your race pace, you could well have been inside the points) and I'm sure next time the luck will be back :wink2:

Finally, congratulations to Peter as once more he is showing to be in a class of his own. Congratulations to the podium (Andreas & Marcin) and a big thanks to all those who raced near me as all was close, fun and fair.

Thanks all that participated thanks RD and Staff for organizing this fine event. :good:

Great race!!! Not a great result, but it was very fun!!! Lots of battles (I lost most of them :))...

Quali: 14th
Very disapointed, since I got 1 sec off my PB, dont know what was going on with me yesterday...

Race: 15th
Not too much I could say here. I had a terrible 1st stint. Don't know what happened, my tires worn out too fast, I think Iwas a little nervous, don't know. Forgot about the pitstop and got to thepits with 0l of fuel, using neutral... Got a stop and go for speeding in the pits, hahaha.

In the beggining of the race some incidents helped me and I jumped to 10th at a moment. I was just trying to follow the guys in front of me, but Mike W was putting some pressure and he passed me... Then Bram passed, then I cant remember who anymore and then Jari passed me... Terrible stint!

The 2nd stint was very good and after the stop n go I started to decrease the difference to the guys in front, since I was already 18th. Passed some guys, including my teammante, Mark (sorry about the bump, mate, I didn't expect you to go wide on that turn to let me pass! :) And I made a mistake also, sorry), and started to gain some field and got like 10 secs behind Jari again, when the 2nd pitstop came. Good pit this time and I was 3 secs behind Jari. But I didn't do a great 3rd stint and Jari scaped again... Final result: 15th. I hope I can do better next time... Impressive field!!! Very strong!!! :wink2:

See you in 2 weeks!!!

Race: P7 in the end. Well done to Van Bommel, Yoeri, Christopher and Mikael, was really great racing, very close, but I think noone hit eachother. And big respect to van Bommel, well done for holding us behind the whole race ;)

:male-fighter1: Absolutly loved the fights,as i dont use any setup tools(e.g. MOTEC) i'm really fighting the car all race long, had a decent setup but i'm no engineer so if only i had a better setup..(it's always beter to blame the setup than my own drivingskills... :))

N.B I do have to say thank you to team TDRC and especialy to Stefan Beemsterboer who gave me a nice setup wich after some tweaking gave me a setup that worked pretty well.

Well I have managed to calm down now as I was really angry last night. My race only lasted 3 corners as I was punted off on the warmup lap by Tobias Kluge who I'm sure did not do it intentionally. In the incident I made contact with the wall and took the splitter off. Pitted to have repairs and I only selected repair suspenion. Had to pit a second time to repair splitter, but by this time I was a lap down and would have spent my race under blue flags all the time so I decided to retire.

No hard feelings Tobias these things happen in motorsport, and well done to the podium and all the runners that finished and especially to my teammate Wido.

Outstanding video, Mtommi!!!! Man, I'm impressed!!! Excelent transitions on the video, man, outstanding work!!! And you did it so fast... WOW!!!! And great race you did too! :wink2:

One thing for you to make this video 100%, if you allow me, of course. Try to put the car engine sounds a bit higher, so we can hear not only the music, but the cars also. It would make this video PERFECT in all means I can imagine!!!
