Paul Ricard - Briefing

Expected Track Temperatures (Degrees C)
Practice 29
Quali 28
Race 24 dropping to around 14

Driver Notes
To keep things safe during the race the pit exit line can only be crossed when you are sure that it is clear and you are passed the red and white kerbing. If you are side by side the car on the left needs to leave room for the car on the right so they don't end up crossing it. If a car is exiting the pits the exit lane is their right of way.

During qualifying feel free to move over earlier, the driver exiting the pits must make sure it's clear.

Bring your sun glasses! The time of day transition looks amazing but for a few laps you'll need to pay extra attention as the sun will be trying to blind you.

Please ensure you have a button / key mapped to turn on your headlights if not automatic.

After our practice session I did wonder if there was time to be gained on the pit entry by turning in to the pits later but apparently that will give you a penalty so make sure you enter the pits properly.

Jardier mentions it at 19:12

Incident where the place is given back but it's disputed who was to blame - wait until the next day to review the replay and have a discussion with the other driver. If it can't be resolved then PM me and I'll take a look.
When you say resolved is this just the other driver apologising or is there a race positions switch if the offender finishes in front?

So in that instance the person that gave the place back has already been penalised as such because they would have had to wait for the other driver to re-join therefore losing places (most instances back of the pack when they do get going again) so no need for me to start trying to give further penalties. Accidents happen, it's the golden rule that will attract a penalty of a ban if ignored (I usually give a reminder for 1st offence, then either a warning or ban as per the rules depending on severity)

By resolved I mean just a quick sorry for the contact pm to keep things nice and friendly. If it turns in to a heated debate then follow section 8 of the rules:

8.Try and discuss any incidents with the other drivers involved after the race in a friendly manner. If you feel stressed out by an accident then take 24 hours to calm down, review the replays of the incident and resolve it in a mature way via PM. Do not make angry posts about it on the forum. If you cannot resolve the problem then please contact the staff member whom organised your race via PM, sending them an incident report that follows the procedure outlined here.

so looking at SGP seems we have a slightly smaller grid tonight, so just a last minute reminder to anyone that took part last week that you also need to register for each race of the series to enter them

I was expecting a slightly smaller grid due to the track but know of 2 regulars that couldn't make it tonight for other reasons.

Thanks everyone, that was some quality racing.

I largely got it right this week with the pitstop it wasn't perfect as I seemed to have to start the engine again but my tyre pressures worked out ok. Carried too much fuel again but my real problem is I cannot drive in the dark :roflmao:

I lost a lot of pace in the second of the race and just when I thought I might catch Patrick again I started to struggle and suddenly had Andre quickly close me down then Harry follows him and also passes me on the last lap for my troubles.

Great event Chris. Congratulations.

First of all thanks to chris and rd for hosting and congrats to the podium, well deserved!!!
And thanks to all drivers for a nice race!!!

I had a lot of fun. First time in years that i felt like a driver, not passenger :D
But still a lot of work in consistency, racecraft and pitstops to do.
This time i was not patient enough in the beginning and than, on the pit entry i did not hit the first gear as i thought. Result was a speeding, 30"stopandgo and back to the end of the field.
Shame on me:notworthy::cautious:

See you next week on the sandy Zandvort track

Really struggled with the Porsche tonight. Had the world's worst start and lost a hand full of places. However this did lead to some awesome racing, great situational awareness by all.

I really struggled with the fast right hander when following another car as the Porsche seemed rapid on the entry phase but this resulted in me needing to lift a little mid corner a few times to stop me from tapping the car in front - lifting mid corner at that speed is a massive no no and saw me fly off and wreck my rear left tyre.

After a few laps of trying to keep it in a straight line whilst battling I spotted a gap on the map that I might be able to slot in to after a pit stop. Left the party early and pitted - came out with clear air and better pressures so banged in some fast laps hoping to leapfrog 1 or 2 but came out 1st to my surprise.

Thanks all for another great event
