hi @SwannyUK
thx for the very quick answer -ok i understood. Did something happen at las Wednesday without this agreement or was it no problem. I have tested it with the AI and i must say it was 50:50 that this works (AI by 100% everything). But if the majority think so its ok. I have done races in AC here in Monza and i think we have no great prblems but it was a standing start.
I hope that i'm not the one who makes not so intelligent things after the start :)

Morning all, it's race day

Just a reminder for anyone that hasn't seen - mandatory pit stop for tyres still applies but you can pit when you want, there is no longer a pit window.

Thanks for joining the first race of the series. Nice to see our regular crew on and new drivers too.

You've all genuinely made my day by making it through T1 - even the guys and girls doing this for real can't manage that half the time!

I know there were a few incidents in T2 afterwards so if you were involved sleep on it and take a look tomorrow at the replay to see if anything could have been done differently. As usual any malicious driving or not waiting for someone after hitting them please have a PM discussion first and if you can't resolve it follow the instructions in the rules to report it. I'd like to think most of our drivers are grown up enough to admit to mistakes or just have a civil chat about things. Usually a PM to say sorry for a knock will do the trick - just make sure you wait and give the place back on track.

really enjoyable first race tonight, clean through at T1 but as I though the 2nd chicane caught a few out, I gained a handful of places as a result :D
most of the race I was chasing down Lee Austin in the #46 audi, it seemed like id get to within 0.5s then he'd pull away back to 1.5s pretty much for the whole first half of the race, similar story behind with MB in the mclaren, getting closer one lap then me gaining 10ths the next, then came the pit stops.......Lee pulled the trigger a few laps before me so when it was my turn to come in i was really trying to nail it to come out in front, as i pulled out of the pits he passed the start/finish line and just got in front going in to turn one so the chase was back on but this time we had another car in the mix (cant remember who sorry) however as those two battled it out just in front of me Lee ran slightly wide at the 2nd chicane but unfortunately this caused me to just nudge him as he came back on to the racing line coming out of the chicane, I managed to get in front. MB was still in the picture behind me and i could see the gap closing in for the final few laps, luckily i managed to keep myself ahead and even gain a place on the final corner of the race as Johal ran out of fuel i believe! so a top 10 finish in the end from a 17th place start :D

ps if anyone has a copy of the replay could you please DM me as forgot to save it. Thanks

That's a cracking result Dean on a track that's difficult to pass! Awesome start to the series.

yeah really enjoyed it, even knowing that most of those gains were due to other having incidents the racing between myself, Lee and MD made it so that I had to focused 100% as were were in such close proximity to each other the whole race, this is how rivalries start (friendly of course) as i'm sure we will all be looking to get the better of each other again next week!

Good race, turned out to be lots of fun fighting back from the back after a bump with Gabriele on lap 2 left us both waiting for the whole pack to pass before we could get going again (thanks for waiting for me). Tyre pressures were a bit high after the tyre change and I again made a hash of my pitstop by pressing the wrong buttons on VR to start the car again which cost me 5+ seconds.

I made quite a few passes and had some good fights to get back up to 9th, good respectful racing all round, loved it. If I hadn't hashed the pitstop I could have found some more fights at the end but I ran out of time to close the gap.

Thanks Chris for organizing and congratulations on the win.

Glad you had fun battling back, good to hear there is good clean racing going on throughout.

Thanks first of all for organizing and hosting the series to Chris and RD!!!

And than... i have to apologize to my team and sponsors for some really bad driving.:(:speechless:
The quali was ok, but the race started with a totally missed start. I made some progress the following laps up to P6, but i did not feel comfortable in the car and couldn't find a good rhythm. To much understeer, no feel for the limit.
It went from so lala to worse after i made a mistake on the exit of ascari, nearly spinning and touching the left wall. Lost a lot of time, places and self confidence.
A second incident late in the race, a copy of the first one, knocked me completely out.
In the end i finished a bad race in P17 i guess.
I was really pi..ed off by myself and have to apologize to all for aome bad driving

I will analyse what happend and led to this bad race to gain back, hopefully, some confidence for round 2....

Olly

Thats a shame Olly, what were your tyre pressures like? We all have bad races, like you say see if there is anything to be learnt and move on to the next one

Thanks Chris.

The tyre pressures were ok, spot on after 2 laps and after the pitstop aswell.

My guess is that in the try to get better i turned the wheel to steps to far.
After some two good weeks with the new PC and solid progress with the "new feel of driving on a decent PC" i was to optimistic in my driver skills.
I tried a lot of cars, made some basic (race) setups and compared them. In the end i went for the AMG EVO because it felt fast and good for me. But doing laps without pressure is something different than doing a race.
I never got in the comfort zone during the race. Maybe the car itself, maybe a to sharp racesetup for my abilitys.

Don't get me wrong.
It was fun to race and it is just a hobby for joy.
But it bothers me, not for the ambitious of a good result/podium/win etc.
Its more about doing something and not doing it right or as good as i could do.

I couldn't have said it better myself Dean, I kept an eye on the relative timing on the MFD and noticed you kept closing in on me, then I'd pull a little bit back and this went on for the majority of the race, also the timing of the pit stops and you coming back out not behind me again made it a cracking race! I think I was in 10th position until I made that mistake that caused our little collision through T2, it must have damaged something as I thought I'd possibly be able to try hang on to you and the other driver that went through and fight for a place in the top 10 but I had quite a lot of instability and understeer after that, particularly in the final corner, and just couldn't keep up after that, great race though, and I'm glad my mistake didn't cost you anything! Congrats on the top 10!

Don't forget if you had some great close racing / overtakes let me know via PM what lap and your car number and I'll hopefully get a highlights video together, maybe for each round. Names won't be included on the video.

Had a disaster of a race, I know I can consistently do 1min49 - 50 but I placed my car in the wall in 7th position then again at the end fighting for 13th. Had to pit with a broken car the first time...

Quality:thumbsup::whistling:

Although I did enjoy fighting the positions back from dead last after the first crash.
