Cheers for the feedback Mark! I'm glad to hear that you're getting on well with the cut detection rules. And as you have said the curbs do decent job of preventing cutting, and occasionally slowing the car down which in turn also deters cutting.

Regarding the white line at the pit exit, since I am unsure as to whether you are referring to the one on the right as you exit the pit lane, or the line on the left as you enter the track, I shall provide a response about both. The white line at the end of the pit lane, on the right hand side, can be cut since it is not really possible to gain time at this point when you are exiting the pits. As for the pit exit line, as you enter the track, it is also possible to "cut" here given that there is nothing implemented in the game to prevent or deter a car from entering the track sooner than it should, and there is no real time to be gained by doing this either. However, if there is an incident at this point on the track, caused by a car exiting the pits and crossing the white line, then a drive-through penalty will be issued by Race Control.

Yes, this is possible - please see my response above. ;)
Thanks for the clarification, I will make sure as ever for a clean pit exit.

Courtesy of @Matt Horst, here is a handy guide for performing driver swaps to help ensure that everything goes as smoothly as possible:

It is the responsibility of both the current and replacement driver to execute a driver swap successfully, and it's easy to make a mistake so here is a procedure that can be followed to eliminate costly mistakes.

Any changes to the car needed by the replacement driver should be conveyed to the current driver well before the pit-stop so that there is sufficient time to make the changes. This might include tyre pressures, aerodynamic settings, etc., which should be specified before the car enters the pits.

The current driver should let the replacement driver know when fuel is down to around 20 litres (or within 10-15 minutes of a planed stop) so that the replacement driver can be prepared. Also the current driver should remind the replacement driver to enter in spectator mode.

The replacement driver should enter the server, in spectator mode, approximately 5 minutes before the driver swap is due to be performed. The replacement should select the driver he is going to replace in the driver list, and then press the passenger select key. The replacement driver should then inform the current driver that he is "riding as a passenger".

The current driver can now select the replacement driver via the pit-stop menu. The current driver should state "pitting on this lap" upon crossing the start / finish line for his final lap, and press the request pit-stop key.

The replacement driver, upon hearing "pitting on this lap" from the current driver, should confirm that they have been selected and that a pit-stop has been requested by asking the current driver. After confirmation the replacement driver can now press the "drive" button before the car arrives at the pit-box. To prevent the camera from potentially getting stuck in its current view (due to a previous bug) the replacement driver should also set their preferred view before the car arrives at the pit-box.

The current driver should ask the replacement driver when approaching the pit entry if he has pressed the "drive" button, and the replacement driver should confirm.

The car ought to be turned off during the pit-stop to prevent overheating, so remember to assign the "starter" and "ignition" buttons. The car should be turned back on by the current driver just before the pit-stop has ended and the replacement driver has taken control; the gear should be set to neutral or first, depending on the replacement driver's preference.

Once the replacement driver has left the pits the exiting driver can now press ESC and leave the server.

ANNOUNCEMENT!

Following on from a previous announcement about some people being unable to distinguish the yellow zone from the orange zones, the live timing application has now been updated so that you may see the track in one of two colours schemes - yellow/orange and blue/orange. Links to the live timing pages with a track map have been provided below:
To see the alternative colours simply add '?map=alt' to the end of the URL in the address bar of your web browser (and press enter) on pages where you can see a track map.

Uoohh. All week training and last night we have one "ghost driver bug" and one "final ratio change after driver swap".

To say that same setup, same name, and DX9 version.

We are frightened!

I hope tomorrow would be a calm day...

Welcome to rF2;)

Last race at another league there were two drivers under control of the same car. Engine blew up 20 seconds after:roflmao:. No team chemistry at all:D.

Hopefully it will be better for us with DX11 this time around, we will see.

Hmmm, that doesn't sound particularly promising…

We have done everything that we could think of with the server configuration, and have also taken other precautionary measures to try and alleviate this problem, but it appears as though rFactor 2 is being as difficult as ever. As you have suggested, it has previously worked without any significant issues so hopefully it will not be a major problem during the race - that would be a real shame. When we restart the servers we shall do one last check of everything to make sure it is all in order.

We'll keep our eye on the issue and the server. Thank you for reporting this mate. Best of luck for the race.
