RaceDepartment.com will be down on Wednesday 30th October, as we look to bring a fresh new image to the largest sim racing website in the world.

Having undergone considerable growth and change in the last decade and a bit, we feel the time is right to take our website to the next level of presentation and functionality. On the evening of Wednesday 30th October (approx 22:00 UTC) we will close access to www.racedepartment.com for much of the night, as we upload and launch our brand new website!

We anticipate access will be restricted for around 12 hours, but if you still need that essential sim racing fix, take the opportunity to check us out on our various Social Media platforms, which can be accessed via the below links.

See you all on the other side!

I have this vague memory that there used to be a button in my preferences to disable the fancy-text-editor, but it's been a few years so I'm not sure if I'm just not finding it or it's gone. I dunno I'm not that weird for preferring to just type[img][/img] am I?

Click the gear icon in the editor to go full nerd mode with bbcode :). Click it again to go back to normal view.

Not a fan of this new lay-out that clearly caters even more to smartphone users and not to people actually checking stuff from their simracing PC. Half of the screen is now empty with the content smashed down in the middle.

Waste of space and effort imo.
I would like to see it expand more to fit larger browser windows too, but that seems to be a style setting that is not related to smartphones. The mobile version of the site displays differently from the desktop site, like it did with the old site too

Just not a fan of so much internet sites catering to smartphones their resolution, it just is a backwards step in an environment that is supposed to be progressive and innovating.

Very nice update! Well done to all at RaceDepartment for the effort, dedication and their passion for blurring the lines between real racing and sim racing. Bravo!

PS. Im having troubles, where is the video section?

My point was the desktop site does not cater to smartphones. Smartphones get a very different version of the site that is catered to their size with a different layout, different menu setup, etc
