RDFIA SEASON REVIEW

McLaren-Honda: Champions
Florin Diaconescu: Champion
Sig Man: 3rd Place
At season start, this looked a strong team, if not hastily put together, and so early on the money was for Heineken and OR. Very quickly though the team found form, with Diaconescu moulding a winning season. Sig backed up fantastically, pushing his teammate. Although Sig lost his title, losing it to a teammate is a decent way to go. The team really stuck together in the final 3 races, and that solidarity arguably won them the title.

Heineken-Honda: 2nd Place
Alexander Macdonald: 2nd Place
James Chant: 5th Place
Another season, another painful blow to the Chant-led team. Since his debutant victory with Red Bull in S15, he has yet to taste championship victory again, while another Brostrom era racer in Macdonald got the closest he's been to winning, a solitary point that will leave this team anxious to find it, and smash it next season.

Online Racing-Ferrari: 3rd Place
Ben Utzer: 6th Place
Omer Said: 8th Place
There was no soft landing, no warm up, no mercy. OR hit the ground hard from the start, their early season form was dismal, and at times throughout the season it reappeared. Without doubt the team had highs with 3 victories, a double for Utzer while Said got the monkey off his back, but they were really few compared to the struggle to even overtake Jordan. Overall, not the season that was expected of the defending champions.

Jordan-Honda: 4th Place
Old Wolf: 7th Place
Rami Saidy: 9th Place
There is no doubt that Jordan would get 4th or better, it is just disappointing no doubt for them that 4th was all they got. Twice the team was able to toast to victory, but annoyingly a massive form slump let the often struggling OR past them too. Jordan came for a few wins and hopefully more, it will be seen whether they can complete step 2 next season or not..

Red Bull Racing-Renault: 5th Place
Ben Herbert: 4th Place
Red Bull were lucky to see their car race at all this season, but arguably and probably accidentally nabbed the hottest driver on the market. With Herbert at the helm, together they took a massive 8 straight top 4 finishes, including 4 podiums. This marks two straight seasons of Red Bull with single drivers, they must surely be hoping for a second next season.

Renault: 6th Place
Jimmy Laad: 10th Place
Fred Owen: 12th Place
Renault only had Owen at season start, and nothing really bode well for them. But arguably after numerous drivers all snubbed the French team, Renault and Owen got the final laugh as they drove to a memorable victory in China. This showed the potential of the car, and Owen when he was on song, which he sadly could not emulate much more. The arrival of Laad with rookie energies renewed the team and the form, but the damage was done, and all that is left is the wondering on what could have been.

Ferrari: 7th Place
Sasha Jednak: 11th Place
The mighty Scuderia were still reeling from a disastrous S19 when signing rookie Jednak. The lure to get a full time driver out-weighed any other thoughts, and Jednak put in a fine effort in a clearly substandard car. They were unfortunate to lose out the 10th place, but a glorious podium at Monza is sure to have Jednak as a firm Tifosi favourite even in his early retirement. Good luck Sasha!

Viper Racing-Dodge: 8th Place
Steven Poirer: 13th Place
Viper Racing entered mid-season with their Dodge powered racer. While it took some time for the team to find its feet, the team showed its class and the potential future with 2 well deserved podiums in a row. Although a smattering of DNF's and a silly DSQ really put a dampener on the proceedings.

Honk-Ferrari: 9th Place
Thomas Hackel: 14th Place
Gary Ludlum: 15...wait who is he??
Honk were seemingly destined for something great. A second car was ready, the team hungry. Then testing and one car never worked. The season started and it seemed that the great Hackel was producing something awesome, 2nd in China. But the greatness never came, and soon neither car worked. Truly saddening for the great team to be seen in such a low light, but it happened.

That is all from me, stay tuned for Season 21 which will get going very soon.

Old Wolf took his only victory in New Jersey, ahead of Ben Utzer.

Japanese Grand Prix

The chaotic start to the Japanese Grand Prix. Fred Owen had a hard hit into the tyres while the ever-unlucky Ludlum flipped over.

Let's get a statement now :p
  1. P3, better than I expected before the season, but I believe I could do better.
  2. Florin did an awesome job all season, and he really deserved this championship, and once he has won the first one, he can get more in the future. Congrats (team)mate!
  3. Alexander really pushed Florin to the limit, and deseres a huge WELL DONE for his efforts. He gave us one of the most nail biting finales in racing ( :p ). I also apologised for making the last race sad for him.
  4. Ben came from a year's sabbatical and he was really strong, without any help from teammates all season, a huge achievement!
  5. James was really quick this year, but his mid-season form really let him down.
  6. Ben2 was on a good form at the start of the season, not so towards the end (More to follow on S21.)
  7. Really happy to get the constructors!
  8. Big, big thanks to Aidan! Faultless, balanced, and good luck for S21! Thank you again :)

Fred Owen and Thomas Hackel secured their only podiums in Malaysia ahead of Rami Saidy. In the background, you can see Ludlum missing his braking point and launching over James Chant, who did manage to crawl over the line.
