Q: during qualy my computer crashed and i had to restart and only had 4 min. to the end of the session when i was able to rejoin the server. Qualified 20th.

R:Had a good start, didn't lost too much time, at turn 1 a car in front of me spun, fortunately i was able to avoid it and proceed. At the exit of turn2 i went wide and i went to the grass which made my car unstable and i wasn't able to do turn 3 with a proper line and i had to cut the line of Jorge Alves (sorry :(). At turn 5 there were 3 cars out of the track, had minor contact with one of the cars rejoining, but nothing serious. At the straight there were 4 cars really close trying to gain positions (I didn't saw Mark Gormley at my side so i pushed him to the grass, sorry :(), at the finish line straigth i was able to pass the car in front of me. At lap 3 the car in front of me spun in turn 5 and i passed him. During lap 4 i had a "close-encounter" with a car in turn 2, he was inside and i didn't realized i had so little room and i slightly hitted him, but no major damage was done or time loss. In the same lap i was able to pass Jorge Alves in the straigth. At lap 5 there was a car that had spun on turn 2 i got scared and i went wide barely missing the barriers on the rigth side of the track. From lap 6 to lap 9 i had a nice battle with Kevin Cox, in lap 9 he passed me and went on his way. At lap 10 Wayne Hammond passed me on turn 5, i slpistreamed him during the straigth, but in the braking zone i went to the rigth to try to pass Hamond on the rigth, but i miss calculate the distance and i hit Hamond on the rear rigth corner of his car, we went off, fortunately Hamond was able to proceed, but i went straigth in to the wall and killed my engine. Sorry for hitting you Hamond, i was entirely my fault, sorry if i made you lost to much time.
Unfortunately i wasn't able to finish the race, but the laps i did were great, hope to be able to race in next friday :)

Congratulations top3 and those who finished

PS: I really liked the changeable weather and the forecast, keep them coming

Wow! Finally, my first wet race. Qualification was fantastic when everyone changed wet tires for slicks at the end. But not much space on track, ouch.

Start of the race was interesting because I didn't know which tires should I put on. Driving on slicks on slightly damped track was brutal. I chose to change for wet tires in lap 9, I think, and lost many places. Chasing was really good. Had an incident with Victor Zaporozhets. I was quicker, he made a mistake in the last corner, he shut the door in first corner and we touched in the second corner when it looked like he was going to spin. Then I was cruising on third position, but my mother absolutely didn't care and distracted me and I crashed in second corner. Lap 31/49. Car was unrepairable. But it was good fun!

Total disaster says it all. 4 messed up pitstops and last lap with 2 rear punctures says it all I think. If you feel like a laugh watch my first pitstop, skid, hit wall, stall, start, hit wall again, then do my pit. Second put more unneeded fuel in. third skidded and crashed.

Never mind was a fun night anyway.

Well that was a gr8 idea with the changing weather. I started with slicks but after a couple of laps it started to rain. I managed to postpone my pitstop until 30 minutes in the race. I pitted from 4th and got back in 14th or so.But after a while the guys in front of me pitted and I was able to get 4th again. And then I went wide and crashed my car......game over

It was nice to finally take part in one of my own events for a change, and I'm glad I did. Excellent evening of racing! :) It's been around 18 months since I last raced the Minis and I've never raced at all in the rain. Quite an experience.

I didn't qualify that well because I went out early when it was wet. Towards the end of the session it dried out and people were switching to slicks and putting in some great times. I wimped out and tried again on my wets, but barely improved my time.

The start of the race was dark but not raining, so it was touch and go as to what tyres to use. Looking at the clouds I opted for wets, and I think that was the right choice. I'm not sure how many people use manual clutch but you definitely seem to get an advantage off the line over those using auto. I made up for my bad qualy by making up some positions there.

Once things settled down a bit, me and Dennis locked horns for about a third of the race. Before the rain he definitely seemed to have the edge on pace, but once the rain began I seemed slightly faster. All credit to his defensive skills though as I had real trouble finding a way past! Every time I thought I had him the door would close, or I'd have to go too wide or too tight and lose my momentum. At one point we came together just before the last corner and Dennis spun off.

[@Dennis Phelan, I slowed down to wait for you but you had disappeared so I assumed you had escaped out of the race. It wasn't until halfway around the next lap that I spotted you on XD. That's when I slowed on the back straight to let you back past. On the replay I see that you somehow passed through the truck when you span and were on the outside of the wall!]

It was a few more laps before I was able to catch up with Dennis and eventually squeeze by. That battle was the best part of the race for me. After that I passed a couple more people and found myself pulling away from those behind while losing time to those in front. After the pit stop phase I somehow found myself in 4th place, though in the latter stages I noticed that Mark was catching me fairly quickly. I think he must have had a spin or something though, as he went from 1.5 to 4 seconds behind quite quickly. There wasn't enough time remaining for him to catch me from there. Bob's retirement promoted me to 3rd place, and that's where I finished. Pretty chuffed with that. :)

Well done to Joao for the win and to everyone that made it to the finish line in (mostly) one piece!

But was very good fun ... we should do more changeable weather races with rain Ross
Well, as long it remains popular then I will continue generating random weather for the Mini Friday events. Doesn't guarantee rain every time of course, but not being sure if half the fun. :)

Stuffed it early on. Someone almost lost control in turn two, blind crested turn, and I followed suit. They recovered, I wasn't so skillful. Aero damage, suspension damage, and a puncture. Tried to drive it the whole lap back to the pits, but that puncture ended that dream soon.

Was good while it lasted, hope to be able to join some more of these.

I got in for a bit of P2 practice and there was a slight difference between wets and drys I thought. Quali went well and as has been noted, dried up nicely in the end. I actually used Q fuel load hoping to have a good race.

Errr race time! I chose to start on drys and I guess that was a good pick. The car right in front of me didn't move at the start so around him we go. What a great first lap, everyone so polite and again, it's going to be a good race! Off the bat Jorge Carlos Ross and I were a small group. Ross and I pulled away a bit and had three good fights that lasted 16 laps! I couldn't hold him back at the last one and began to give him room, knowing the inevitable was going to happen.

As rain came and tires started to slide I pitted and thought to go to wets, instantly finding that it was a very bad decision. I had a big slide, hit a wall or some similar bad lap for the next five to ten laps! All I could do was to hold on till the end. Nisse, who had been down a lap on me kept creeping closer and closer, I was really worried about having more incidents as my onboard computer indicated that just one more bad one would have him on top or in front of me at the finish! I drove to stay alive and keep Nisse's closing rate reasonable, safe driving did the trick for me, It wasn't as nice as t he first 16 laps but kept me in 7th place!

Congrat's to the guys that can put the pedal to the metal in these conditions, I'd rather have dry all the time but I'll let the bad weather lovers have some fun too :)
