Nice track.. fast and really dangerous.... any little mistake and you're out. And as stubborn as a noob can be... I did choose the Vette, with Keith's setup (only change I did was reducing steering lock from 23 to 17)... that thing is crazy, I felt like I was floating on some parts of the track.... lol.. but by the 2nd race I kind of got a hold of it...

race1) Got a punctured tire in 3rd lap for a change.. had to pit, and that was the race for me, finished 8th or something.

race2) Little accident on the hairpin, with a lot of cars in 1st lap.. found myself in last place... and started to build my way through the race, after that I didn't make any big mistakes.. was really nice, finished 6th.

ps) Does anybody have the 2nd race replay? I would love to watch that again..

What a simple track, it’s so easy to remember the corners and curves. On a snake, you know where the bite comes from, here it can be lurking in so many places! There was a car in the garage when I got here but the one I drove had no relationship. It’s amazing how much you can learn in a year about setting up a car.

R1: Lucky me, I’m not in gear as the flag drops and I get a pounding by Martin, telling me to get going.
I do think that was my lucky break as I missed all the cars going off/on on the way to the hairpin and flew past the mess there into P1. There we were three of us, totally amazed by our position on the track, John D, Martin L and myself. From that point on I decided to do something that I seldom do and really had no plan for at this event, I grabbed my race face. In no time Keith was behind commenting that he would be there to cover and protect me from Tyler, LOL! I was happy to be in the lead but knew the fast guys would be on my case in no time so I screwed my eyeballs to the windscreen.

As Tyler caught up Keith took off. The power of the vette is awesome! Tyler’s vette nips me at the end of the back straight but he loses it exiting the corner, next lap he makes the pass and cleans the corner. On L7 Sam catches me and at the slow left hander I make my only mistake of the race and he’s by. I don’t relent, as I know everyone is strung out and probably has a little damage. Dariusz approaches and only because he also has the power of the vette does he manage to get by me and on the front straight I put pressure on him but can’t break him!

Eric has followed Dariusz but he’s in a Bmeer like me and he can match my speed by coming out of a corner harder but just can’t muster enough uumph to get by me. I work really hard at hitting my points and putting my foot down. He slipped by me twice on Sunday night; I don’t want to get a reputation!

It has to be a rewarding race just because of the track and finishing without having to pit. It was fun too, not for being in the lead but to be with such good drivers that all made that race enjoyable.

R2: It certainly wasn’t R1! A good launch and I’m at T1 in P3, Sam is right behind. I cautiously brake and I’m tagged from behind. The powerfull vette gets by me on the back stright and I push brakkingto the limit giving Sam a bump in the corner, sorry Sam. At T1 I lock my brakes and T-bone Phil after sliding across the grass in the process cutting off Sam who taps my rear as he goes by. Back on the road behind Phil, I seem to have a performance issue and he catches me on the back straight. Thinking he has backed off I take the corner, hitting him and going off. It’s just not my race! I’m going again behind Martin in P11[last]. There’s no grip and no speed but no reason to pit. I can’t catch Martin but go by as he sits at the heairpin, next lap it’s Phil. He was running away from me, couldn’t catch him on speed either. Eric comes out with a refreshed car and just takes me, I can offer nothing!

Both were great races, thanks to all the drivers! Sorry for any contacts. Marcelo and Phil, don’t be afraid of the Corvette’s. They’re not bad if you set them up for yourself. Either the Viper or the Vette at LeMan’s for both of you.
