It's a nice track, the races here always have plenty of laps to them! Upon arriving at the track I found I had no car! I know I've raced here before but the garage was empty! After a few laps in my quickly builtup car I was offered a car by Rhys. His hada nice feel too it, not like driving on ice, more like motoring on bacon fat or something. I had a feel for the car and could see how it was a fast car but I couldn't find a comfy place for it, it didn't connect with me. So, back to what I had, that I was actually a couple of tenth's faster in and onwards with a few small changes. Thanks for the test drive Rhys!

Quali: yes I did that.

R1: I got a poor start but everything changed in T1. All was put right when I went off at the downhill, P8. I went off at the downhill several times in both races. Between all of my various off's I had plenty of time to drive around with Mike Bell.

R2: A much better start and once again I took the job of race leader seriously and did my best to stay on track, go fast and create problems for the eventual winners. Rhys and Eric went by and all went well until L3 when an off let Saul and Paul by. Again at L5 I "let" most everyone else past. The rest of the race was spent with aero and suspension damage that gave me a recurring overheating LF tire that kept catching me out.

I did finally change the brake bias that was sending me into a long tailslide at the bottom of the hill. That was my only acomlishment for the night.

Oh, did I mention that I rolled it over in R1? Check your replays!

Thanks to Eric, RD and all that came to race.
Merry Christmas as well!

Well after a night's sleep I think I have calmed down enough to post :D

Qually - 30th (last)

Got a minidump switching sessions from practise to qually, game took ages to load and I didn't have time to set a lap. So started last.

Race 1 - 8th

My aim was to finish 8th, I knew I had the pace but finding clean passes and avoiding lap 1 carnage would be difficult for sure. I arrived into Eau Rouge in the brace position, but exited with only suspension damage and 6 places gained, up to 24th. With a few more collisions and people running wide, by lap 1 I was in a reasonable 18th position. Once Yuri made an error to, I jumped to 17th and we both had the pace to contend up front so we made our way through the field nicely, jumping to P11 and P12. I jumped into the pits to fix my suspension damage, which took an alarmingly long time as my screen said the stop would take 8 seconds, not the eventual 16 it did take!!

I had clean air and put the hammer down and lapped consistently in the 2:32's and came out only one place down on where I was before I stopped. I passed Barry again and then Kasper and was in 11th place. With Yuri then crashing, I jumped to 10th and when I closed in and passed Jadran, I was 9th.
I saw Wesley and Michael ahead of me and I thought I could catch them, I pushed hard and closed the gap from 8 seconds to 4seconds. I was losing hope of 8th until Ryan had to stop again, and 8th was mine. I still closed in on Michael, Leonardo and Wesley, but didn't have enough time to get close enough to them, so finished 8th.

Race 2 - DNF :(

Starting from P1 I got a good start for a TDi and held the lead from Wesley until he squeezed underneath me half way round the lap. I kept in his tail and he out braked himself at the Bus-stop handing me 1st. I didn't look in my mirrors for 2 more laps and surprised myself by doing 2 2:31 laptime's. With the battle for P2 very close, I could gain and hold a 3 second lead to Oliver, Henrik, David, Wesley and Leonardo.

I thought Christmas had came early as I still lead after the pitstops, and the chasing group had diminished down to the 2 quickest guys in the field - David and Henrik. Henrik was flying and caught me in about 3 laps and passed me when my computer froze for a few seconds, but he very sportingly let me through again :thumb:
I defended cleanly and not violently and thankfully Henrik didn't force a move that couldn't be made. With me slowing us down quite badly, David caught us and it turned into a great 3 way fight for the lead. Into the last lap I led but we were covered by less than a second. David has passed both of us and I thought I'd just settle for 3rd and let Henrik passed as I didn't want to risk my podium place. But as I have had no luck at all in sim-racing, I disconnected with about 5 corners to go. Not very happy at all!

Thanks to all I had good battles with, and thanks to RD and Michael :thumb:

Fun stuff as usual in the MINI's.

Quali'd 3rd and was in touch with Rhys and Saul on the time sheet.

Warmup............I set quick lap.......thats not the usual for me

R1 get a good jump and trying to pass Saul.... he hold track middle and I am inside. Miss the braking point and bump Saul, who crushes Rhys. MY BAD! I wait for Rhys to pass me and then we go for it. Slowly hammering through the field. I pas Rhys after he has an exciting journey trough the grass off the 4th gear blind right. I stick it inside left and manage to avoid a spinning car but Rhys collects him and I am free to run down Paul Wood. 5 laps to catch Paul and he lets me through. I try to reach Matthias for 2nd but not possible. Alos set quick lap for Race 1! WOW!

R2 get a great jump and squeeze into 3rd behind Rhys and Dennis. Harass Rhys for 2 laps then he slowly slips away when I have an off exiting T1. Thia allows Saul and I to run side by side through the esses without touching each other! EPIC! Saul gets by me by a hair and then the battle begins. I try for at least 8 laps to pass Saul. I am quicker but the track leaves no room for much creative opportunities. I eventually fall off ther pace a biut and Saul is leading me by 1.5, I whittle it down towards the end but cannot regain 2nd.

Really fun racing! Saul, that was and EPIC R2 battle!

Check out the reply guys you won't be disappointed..........

Hope to see you in one of the "SANTA SPRINTS" this weekend!

We have a fresh, new way of reporting and punishing incidents in the Racing Club, using an infractions system - read more here

You are actively encouraged to use this system - we like to keep driving standards high - so if you feel you were wronged in any way during an event simply send the event organizer a private message detailing the incident including a youtube video. Do not post reports/accusations in the thread itself - negativity and anger gets us nowhere.
