PC2 Project Cars 2 Leagues (merged)

I know we are all excited for this release. What I don't know is how many people intend to a) play it on the xbox one and b) would like to join some sort of a formal league here at Race Department.

There are so many possibilities, I've had to calm myself down from getting lost in them. However, my main passion, IndyCar, will probably not be able to be run until the DLC with the ovals comes to the Xbox One.

That said, what sort of series would you like to see? Personally, ones that come to mind are Tudor United Sports Car Series, WEC, British Touring Car, and DTM. One of these could fill the gap for me until IndyCar is possible, but others may have better ideas.

Please indicate below if you are interested and what sort of times you are available and which series' you prefer. We could follow the actual schedule of many a series, due to the timing of the release. Personally, if they get the ovals out before IndyCar starts, I'll probably turn my focus there, but nothing would prevent running another alongside.

Here is the sprint race, for some reason the feature didnt have audio dispite all settings being right. I had alot of fun doing this with Jordan, and all the feedback so far is positive!

Couldn't find the pace I had in practice and was about a second off, so started last. Spun in lap 1 coming into the bus stop. After that I was mostly struggling with the lack of grip and those death traps called curbs, but tried to keep my lap times consistent. I wanted to go on as long as possible, but suddenly my times dropped so came in in lap 13. Did a few decent laps after, but then got caught by the front of the field. Lost a lot of time getting lapped by basically everyone and finished P13 because of a few guys getting DSQ for coming into the pits too fast. Not the race I had hoped for.

Sprint:

R: P9

The car felt a bit better and made a last minute decision to lower front and rear downforce. This worked but did not manage to improve my time in my final quali lap, because I already set it to race fuel
Had a good start, but light contact with Jamie in turn 2-3 of lap one sent my kissing the wall, losing 5 places. But because of that, I wasn't involved in the carnage just after the bus stop.
I closed in on Basset pretty quickly, but was too eager overtaking him in T1 and spun. Had to do it over after a few laps. When Benji came into the pits I moved up to 8th. Tried to stay out in front of him, but he was catching me quickly. It all came down to the last lap, but I ran wide coming out of turn 3, just touched the wall and was a sitting duck for Benji. Got the car across the line in P9.

Still not the pace I was hoping for, but happy to have scored some points for myself and the team! I hope I have more time to prepare for COTA...

S8 Stewarding Thread Rules​

• You are not allowed to post any incidents in this thread until 09:00am on Friday following the race, Any appeals should be made by 23:59 Saturday evening. Any drivers that disregard this rules could be penalized and have their reports removed.

• This Thread is only for incidents during races so you post what you need to and follow the format below after that no discussions are to take place in the stewards threads, any drivers that disregard this rule could be penalized.

APPEALS

If your not happy with the outcome of a stewards enquiry you may APPEAL the result but please note you have 24hrs after the original verdict to post your appeal below and must provide further footage and/or evidence

Please use this template when making an enquiry. You MUST have video evidence of your incidents your personal point of view is preferred but if using a race replay please use the chase cam, other view points can be unreliable.

• Time period of the video to be observed: (give range from start to finish)
  
• Drivers involved
• A brief description of your side of the incident including time lost.

Also the stewards will now have a deadline for each event to get the decision's out by Sunday so the points can be updated quicker.

Penalty system

The stewards have a variety of penalties that may be applied to punish drivers who break the racing rules, depending on the severity of the violation. The available penalties are sorted below, in order of severity. Breaking a rule also leads to penalty points being added to your name - see further down for more details.

(Note that penalties may be added together in the event of multiple violations in a race, which could result in total time penalties of a higher number than what is suggested below)

● 5-second time penalty
● 10-second time penalty
● 20-second time penalty
● 30-second time penalty
● Qualifying ban for the next race (may also be applied in place of a time penalty if the driver did not finish the race)
● Disqualification from the race
● One-race ban
● Multiple-race ban
● Permanent removal from the league

Any penalties will be aimed at the person who has done wrong - we cannot compensate anyone else as a result of someone's actions. All penalties are discussed by the Stewards Panel before being issued and the driver will always be informed of the outcome. The Stewards Panel is completely neutral and will not include anyone who may be affected by the incident in question.

Penalty points system
The penalty points system is a way of keeping track of a driver's record of breaking the rules of clean racing, and to more severely punish repeat offenders. Penalty points will be applied alongside normal race penalties, as per the list below.

● 5 points - Driving dangerously or un-sportingly
● 5 points - Causing a minor avoidable collision
● 10 points - Causing a moderate avoidable collision
● 15 points - Causing a major avoidable collision
● 5 points - Failing to wait for the affected driver after causing a collision (in addition to one of the above)
● 5-15 points - Excessively abusing the track limits (depending upon severity)
● 50 points - Deliberately crashing into another driver

If you accumulate 25 points, you will be awarded a qualifying ban.

If you accumulate 40 points, you will be awarded a one-race ban.

If you accumulate 50 points, your league position will be put under review, with the likely outcome of being removed from the league.

Penalty points will usually be reset ahead of a new season.

Please note rage quitting will be punished with a qualifying ban for the next race. If you retire from the race you are expected to remain in the lobby until the race is over and AFTER the race replay has been saved. (You may be asked for proof in the event of a disconnection so pls take a screen shot of your disconnect notification)

In the case of the wheel glitch in qualifying please do not leave the race lobby until you have tried to disconnect the wheel and reconnect it to the ps4. This should solve the problem without having to leave and rejoin.

Lastly and most important of all please feel free to post anything you feel is bad driving or unacceptable contact. If for any reason there is conflict/name calling or in-proper use on this thread then the stewards will have the right to throw out any appeal! So please use the template above and give a short explanation of events without antagonising another driver

1. Why did you choose this as you track?

C.O.T.A is a technical and hard to nail track with a lot of overtaking opportunities

2. Will it suit your car?

There are sections that perfectly suit to the M6 and other that I will find it hard to go flat out. The same happens with all the cars in this track

3. Round 1 over how did Watkins Glen treat you?

At feature race top 3 had very close racing. After T1 I was in P3 folowing 2nd but not pushing hard at 1st half. I pitted earlier trying to do the undercut by exited pitlane behind a slower car so I stayed third. After some laps pushing on the limit me and adam had a fight for 3 last laps but I managed to lose the rear at the last lap trying to get P2. Sprint race found me on pole but a contact at lap one caused damage to the car and forced me to retire.

4, what are you aims for this season?

I started this season with a completely new setup and in the pre season tests I managed to close the gap from the fastest drivers compared the season. I hope to improve the car more and be able to do some podium finishes

5. Seb your teammate scored points on his debut how are things with him and the team?

It's first season for seb in TNGTC and first time he participates in a such competitive league. His first race found him just outside the points and at the sprint race he finished 7th ahead of more experienced guys. So I think that in the feature we will see him improve his pace and why not to battle for some pondium finishes? I give him the setups I make for each race and I can give him tips so he can do some setup changes according to his style and his drving preferences as I drive this car for a longer period. Also I can give him tips in order to improve his laptimes and he can help me with the car and my driving too.

First event over, did you match your expectations?
I couldn't find the pace I had in practice, so no. I expected to be able to battle a few other drivers, but that wasn't the case. I did score some points, so I guess that's a decent start of the season.

Some drivers showed great pace, much better than expected! So this could become a tight battle for the crown!

COTA Was a love/hate track back in Season 6, is it one you're looking forward to?
The curbs at COTA are more deadly than at The Glen, so this is going to be a tough one. It's not a track I am all too familiar with. I'm not expecting too much of myself this week, so one or two points would be great.

Didn't finish the way i expected it to, but I'm very happy with a 2nd and 3rd in my first races. Probably my best start to a season yet.

Yes off-course its more than just me fighting for the title, its going to be far from easy and i don't see my self as the favourite i just want to go race by race this season and take it from there.

Hate it. SMS do know how to ruin a perfectly good track, Kerbs are deadly and just doesn't feel nice to drive but hey at least its not Sugo

Qualifying didn't go to plan, but I've never had the 1 lap ability. So against such a competitive grid being on the 3rd row was the best I could manage. Luckily I had good race pace and was able to make it back to 4th from 8th.

Adam has the consistency to be the favourite for this championship, however that doesn't mean it's going to be a walk in the park.
Dean will be hard to beat at tracks that suit the Merc, and the Falken boys are always going to be on the pace.
Papano could be a surprise package, looking strong and fast. Just needs to keep his composer and results will come his way.
This season is looking extremely close, let's hope everyone keeps up the motivation and we can have a full season of close racing.

Yea kinda, i didnt finish....I Don't get to practice at a reasonable time so didn't know what times others were doing, so suprised to be as high up the grid as I was. But got dsq for speeding in the pit lane (which I didn't realise you could do with these settings, but now i do...)

Definitely looks like it, plenty of people able to win races.

Most definitely not. Can't get the car to work, frustrating and not fun. Already looking forward to the next race.

Errr no. Knew i had no pace last week, but because of my pit crew and an incident i couldn't avoid it was a very below par day.

Yes, if everyone in that fight sticks with it.

Like the track, hate the curbs, but like a lot of people i havent had much practice (although my excuses were unavoidable, not because i cba). This race could be interesting though. With big differences in speed and mistakes likely to be regular we could see faster people trying to come back through the field.

Sorry to whoever was behind me at the start of the sprint. Was messing with my TC and didn't engage 1st gear when the lights went out.
Nice little race with Adam and seeks in the sprint.

I really need to work on my qualy setup. Started second to last only because Edu didn’t do a qualy lap. Got through the T1 basically unharmed and moved up to P9, where I had a good battle with Basset. Came in early for tyres, but my crew did not change them. My old tyres were still pretty good, so I stayed out so I could battle a few others. Made another pitstop at the end, but again my crew messed up and sent me out without a new set of tyres!
Closed the gap to Basset from 22 to 9 seconds, but that wasn’t good enough and I finished just outside of the points.

Sprint:
Q: P8
R: P5

Qualy sucked again, but I had a great start and was in P5 after T1. Had a short battle with Adam in lap 3 where I made my first successful switchback, but couldn’t keep him behind me. Had great battles with several guys and had to fight hard for that 5th place!

Overall, it went much better than I expected and I’m more than happy to have scored some more points!
