I know we are all excited for this release. What I don't know is how many people intend to a) play it on the xbox one and b) would like to join some sort of a formal league here at Race Department.

There are so many possibilities, I've had to calm myself down from getting lost in them. However, my main passion, IndyCar, will probably not be able to be run until the DLC with the ovals comes to the Xbox One.

That said, what sort of series would you like to see? Personally, ones that come to mind are Tudor United Sports Car Series, WEC, British Touring Car, and DTM. One of these could fill the gap for me until IndyCar is possible, but others may have better ideas.

Please indicate below if you are interested and what sort of times you are available and which series' you prefer. We could follow the actual schedule of many a series, due to the timing of the release. Personally, if they get the ovals out before IndyCar starts, I'll probably turn my focus there, but nothing would prevent running another alongside.

The anticipation is killing me!

The Track

circuit-barcelona-catalunya-2.jpg

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is a motorsport race track in Montmeló, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. With long straights and a variety of corners, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is seen as an all-rounder circuit. The track has stands with a capacity of 140,700. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya was built in 1991 and began hosting the Spanish Grand Prix that same year. Construction also coincided with the Olympic Games scheduled to take place in Barcelona the next year, where the circuit acted as the start and finish line for the road team time trial cycling event.
Because so much testing is done at this circuit, Formula One drivers and mechanics are extremely familiar with it. This has led to criticism that drivers and mechanics are too familiar with Catalunya, reducing the amount of on-track action. When first used, overtaking was frequent as cars could follow closely through the last two corners and slipstream down the long straight. As aerodynamic balance became more critical, this overtaking method drastically decreased as the cars were unable to follow each other through the fast final corner due to turbulence created by the leading car. The 2007 season saw the first of the two final sweepers replaced with a slow chicane in an effort to improve overtaking. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has hosted a motorcycle Grand Prix since 1992, originally the European motorcycle Grand Prix from 1992 and later the Catalan motorcycle Grand Prix since 1996. There are at least five points on the track (turns 1, 2, 4, 10, 14) where riders are known to overtake. As in Formula 1, Turn 1 is arguably the most popular place for overtaking. The circuit is not known to produce copious amounts of overtaking, despite the long straights. Originally, the Formula 1 circuit changes were not instituted for MotoGP; however, after a fatal crash in the 2016 MotoGP round involving a Moto2 rider, the Formula 1 layout was implemented to slow down riders for safety purposes. The FIM made a further change to the chicane for 2017 by moving up the chicane to prevent riders from cutting the pit lane entrance.

Driver Ratings

Gaz: 8.5/10 Took a comfortable win, and recovered incredibly well to take P4 After being spun on lap 1 of the sprint.
Nathan: 9/10 Nobody was taking P1 other than Gaz in the feature, So a P2, And then another P2 in the Sprint, which could have been a win if not for high tyre wear.
Ben: 8/10 Wont be dissatisfied with his event, but damage in the sprint saw him finish P6 when there was alot to be potentially taken from the sprint.
Adam: 7/10 Took a pleasing P4 in the Feature, but a P7 in the sprint, 35s off hasn't done any help.
Benji: 7/10 An early spin saw him drop down the order, but clawed back P5, To then repeat the same result in the sprint.
Liam: 7/10 Threw away a good result in the feature, but managed to convert a sprint pole into the win.
Matt: 6/10 Finished a lowly P7 in the feature, and spun out of his P2 in the sprint.
Jamie: 4.5/10 A P8 & a P9, another one jamie will be quick to blank out of his memory.
Jeremy: 3/10 P9 & a DNF. Well atleast he wasnt last?
Seeks: 4/10 P10 & P8, a poor showing compared to his recent upturn in form.

Driver of the day: Nathan

Last Time Out

The race started as many expected, Gaz held his lead and that was the last most saw of him. It all remained pretty much status quo until Benji had a spin through Club corner, seeing him drop way back. he soon started making places back, including a pass round the outside of Jeremy at stowe. Around lap 8 the Pitstops started, with Liam first pulling the trigger trying to undercut the Scoobynaldo Drivers, Nathan came out worst dropping from P2 to P4, Ben staying P3 after Liam jumped them both, Gaz was still out front comfortably. it was a Noah's ark style race at this point, with Spam Fritters Racing, Scoobynaldo GT & Snakes Unite Racing all running in order. Ben was struggling to catch Liam, so a team game was played, allowing Nathan to now be the attacking driver, with Ben moving over in T3. It worked, as on Lap 16, Nathan got a run into copse, with him & Liam running side by side, before Liam conceded into Maggotts, the fight continued down to club corner, where Ben then slipped past Liam, who was too busy trying to reclaim P2. Into turn 1, Liam then spun, dropping to P6, Behind Benji who had done well to claw back up to the rear of his team mates R.S. 01. It stayed this order to the end, an end which Seeks failed to make after running out of fuel.
The sprint saw Liam take pole from Matt, But they had to be wary, as the feature race top 5 were starting as high as P6. It all kicked off through the Arena section, with Seeks outbraking himself into Jamie, with Jamie then proceeding to spin Gaz off at T4, with Gaz proceeding to fall to last. Nathan was the biggest profiter to claim P3, Having avoided most of the carnage. P4 And below became a race of who had the least damage, minus Gaz, who had none, but had dropped far behind. The top 3 were seperated by 1.5-2 seconds, with it looking like a case of when not if Nathan passed Matt. His job was made easier when Matt spun into Stowe. Gaz had started making his way back up the order, and was back up to P5, And hunting Ben whos Porsche had big handling issues for P4. With Nathan released into P2, it seemed like he would seriously challenge for the win, but with high tyre wear, he gradually started dropping back from the lead and allowed Liam to take the win. Gaz finally managed to complete his recovery drive to claim P4. Jamie slowed down to purposely finish a lap down, with him and Seeks again coming together on the Line.
