I know we are all excited for this release. What I don't know is how many people intend to a) play it on the xbox one and b) would like to join some sort of a formal league here at Race Department.

There are so many possibilities, I've had to calm myself down from getting lost in them. However, my main passion, IndyCar, will probably not be able to be run until the DLC with the ovals comes to the Xbox One.

That said, what sort of series would you like to see? Personally, ones that come to mind are Tudor United Sports Car Series, WEC, British Touring Car, and DTM. One of these could fill the gap for me until IndyCar is possible, but others may have better ideas.

Please indicate below if you are interested and what sort of times you are available and which series' you prefer. We could follow the actual schedule of many a series, due to the timing of the release. Personally, if they get the ovals out before IndyCar starts, I'll probably turn my focus there, but nothing would prevent running another alongside.

The anticipation is killing me!

The Track

Watkins_Glen_International_Circuit_Map.png

Watkins Glen International A.K.A "The Glen" is a race track located in Watkins Glen, New York.
It was long known around the world as the home of the Formula One United States Grand Prix, which it hosted for twenty consecutive years (1961–1980), but the site has been home to road racing of nearly every class, including the World Sportscar Championship, Trans-Am, Can-Am, Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, the International Motor Sports Association and the IndyCar Series. Initially, public roads in the village were used for the race course. In 1956 a permanent circuit for the race was built. The circuit's current layout has more or less been the same since 1971, although a chicane was installed at the uphill Esses in 1975 to slow cars through these corners, where there was a fatality during practice at the 1973 United States Grand Prix. The chicane was removed in 1985.
After a succession of serious crashes took place at the "Loop" at the end of the backstretch, a major change was made to the track's layout. During the 1989 Bud at the Glen, Geoff Bodine blew a tire at the end of the backstretch. He broke into a hard spin, and sailed straight off the track, crashing head-on into the barrier. In 1991, during the IMSA Camel Continental VIII, Tommy Kendall's Intrepid RM-1 prototype crashed in the Loop, severely injuring his legs. Seven weeks later, NASCAR Winston Cup driver J. D. McDuffie died in an accident at the same site during the 1991 Bud at the Glen. Since 1992, track
officials constructed a bus stop chicane along the back straight just before arriving at the Loop. Dubbed the "Inner Loop", it led into what was now being called, the "Outer Loop." This addition slightly increased the lap distance for both layouts.
The track is 3.40 mi (5.43 km) in length, with 11 turns. the lap record is 1:22.5259 by Scott Dixon is in a 2012 Chip Ganassi Racing indycar.

Driver Ratings

This was a suggestion by Ben, so it is being trialed this week. It is based on where they realistically should finish, vs where they did, and did they extract the maximum.

Gaz: 8.5/10 Took an unlikely win, and 2 solid results

Oz: 8/10 Threw an easy win away, but came out losing no points to Gaz

Liam: 6.5/10 Took the max from the feature but a sloppy sprint cost him

Ben: 7/10 2 Solid races for ben, saw him take a decent haul.

Jamie: 5.5/10 An event to forget for Jamie, only boosted by that he was leading and had the opportunity for better

Adam: 7/10 Adam wont be dissatisfied with this, the RS01 not having the outright pace

Paul: 6.5/10 Took 2 very strong results compared to previous rounds

Jeremy: 5/10 He finished a race... thats all

Nathan: 6.5/10 A terrible race 1, was boosted by a win in race 2

Matt: 5/10 Accidents in both races, marred his event.

Benji: 4/10 Benji wont want to remember this event anytime soon.

Driver of the day: Gaz

Last Time Out

Spa never fails to deliver a great race, and it duly delivered this season. everyone got through turn 1 and Eau Rouge, but it all kicked off at Les Combes, Liam went off, narrowly avoiding Gaz, but behind the real drama started, Adam and Matt got together, with the resulting collision leaving Ramsay upside down, and out of the race. Not long after Jamie made a move on Gaz to claim P2, and when Oz spun at Les combes he was leading the race! It all came to a dissapointing end when he too spun in a similar fashion to Oz, giving Gaz the lead. Some early pitstops came around, with Oz having pitted as early as Lap 4, Ben on lap 6 to try and get Liam off his tail. It all came tumbling down for Benji, when he spun into the pitlane and got disqualified. After the pitstops, Oz had managed to undercut Gaz, meanwhile Liam had managed to overcut Ben. Momentum however saw Ben get back past out of Eau Rouge. all the battles were happening up front, as Oz spun out of the lead again, and Ben & Liam became embroiled for P3. Oz tried his hardest but couldn't pass Gaz, but had caught him on the final lap, and Liam was behind, having taken P3 off Ben into Puhon, with just 3 laps to go. The sprint was back to what we know and love, with lots of carnage. Nathan had taken a surprise pole position, after only finishing race 1 in P9. He quickly built a comfortable lead, from Adam. P3 to P8 were all nose to tail for a few laps. with Oz & Gaz breaking free. Jamie had a spin into Puhon which pretty much wrote off his sprint race. It all boiled over on lap 5, as down Kemmel straight, Liam and Matt were pushing eachother, with Ben then becoming the innocent victim at Les combes. Matt got through but Liam and Ben showed their displeasure to eachother at Rivage and Liege. Ben, Liam & Benji passed Matt again, and he soon after spun at Malmody. The race calmed down from there, and Nathan won from Adam & Oz.

Questions

Watkins was originally planned to be an Endurance, but will now be normal, happy?

What has been your favourite race of Season 6 so far?

Do you like Bens suggestion of rating drivers out of 10 for every race?

If you could pick your own racing number, what would it be?

Would you like damage on or off?

I hate endurances....

What has been your favourite race of Season 6 so far?

Either Austria sprint, or the battle with Nathan at Sugo.

On. When you battle a car, you have to think about what you're doing, if damage is off you can throw caution to the wind knowing you wont get damage.

Yes, we don't need that many endurance events.

Monza Endurance

I think it's a good idea

I think generally the damage in PCars 2 is very sensitive. Sometimes you can get like 4 damage on the front from hitting a cone or something and it ruins a whole stint.
I wouldn't mind seeing it turned off but I'm not to fussed.

Yeah, like endurance races but they are getting more boring, this might be because of the choice of tracks. Perhaps a track like the green hell would be a fitting endurance
hint hint ;)

As long as they are not biased and derogatory comments are kept to a minimum.

After testing yes I'm happy it's not an endurance lol, I do love the odd endurance race but maybe 3 per season would be enough?

What has been your favourite race of Season 6 so far?
Monza easy rocked up with a new team and won awesome

Bens a legend and highly attractive :O_o:

If you could pick your own racing number, what would it be?
27 I grew up loving Ferrari drivers go Gilles Villeneuve and Nigel Mansell, Jean Alesi all used that iconic number. Pitty teams still don't have there own numbers like back then

Would you like damage on or off?
On its killed me enough and I think I can count on one hand the amount of times I haven't had damage in a sprint but it's a variable so needs to stay

One thing that needs changing now is people joining late to get a better position for the sprint it's not what the sprint was designed for, if you win the feature your at the back for the sprint not 6th.

The only way to stop this is to have the top 5 leave after the feature then rejoin in the order they finished. So 1st would join 1st, 2nd would join 2nd etc. We always have a break after the feature anyways so it wouldn’t take any extra time. Adam or whoever could send out messages saying when to join. Of course the host will always be at the back.

That doesn’t work, need a whole new lobby as
It keeps people in the original position from when they first joined in if just back out and join back in
