PC2 Project Cars 2 Leagues (merged)

I know we are all excited for this release. What I don't know is how many people intend to a) play it on the xbox one and b) would like to join some sort of a formal league here at Race Department.

There are so many possibilities, I've had to calm myself down from getting lost in them. However, my main passion, IndyCar, will probably not be able to be run until the DLC with the ovals comes to the Xbox One.

That said, what sort of series would you like to see? Personally, ones that come to mind are Tudor United Sports Car Series, WEC, British Touring Car, and DTM. One of these could fill the gap for me until IndyCar is possible, but others may have better ideas.

Please indicate below if you are interested and what sort of times you are available and which series' you prefer. We could follow the actual schedule of many a series, due to the timing of the release. Personally, if they get the ovals out before IndyCar starts, I'll probably turn my focus there, but nothing would prevent running another alongside.

RACE REPORT

Firstly just want to say a big thanks to @Frank Finch for his coverage of the races, really well done and I actually don’t think you need a co-commentator lol

Also that was the best night of racing I’ve had for a long time everyone was driving really well

Feature

Q: 9th
R: 4th

Well the Porsche has this cool thing where if you take 55 litres of fuel out to do a quali lap it actually goes slower lol. No front grip no speeds started 9th. However knew the car was quick in race trim so kept the faith

Start was chaotic I got a normal good launch and positioned myself alongside Ramsay but the straight is narrow and when matt had to avoid a mclaren he came over towards me and spun across the front of my car into Ramsay. Just a racing thing shame for the other two

My strategy was to just keep pushing and hope people fell off the road but I did more than that by keeping pace with the group of mclarens ahead. One by one they crashed or had issues

After I pitted I found my self p4 but somehow matt was on my tail and we battled most of the last stint but held on for a great result


SPRINT

Some how started last 13th

R: 5th

Employed the same strategy as the feature just wait for mistakes and crashes. Again it worked passed Seeks when he spun out, dave ran out of talent, passed lance into Montreal then Gaz crashed followed by a nice overtake on Oz. Then a few more crashed to put me p6 into the last lap. Tried to pass Jaime but got onto the grass and thought that was it but he then crashed onto the Bentley straight. Felt bad as he had earned the place but that’s racing and I will take p5 from last

Well the Porsche did me proud but I want to be fighting for podiums and wins and despite my love for the car it’s just not fast enough. Thanks to @Lance Loomis for the first 3 races top bloke just isn’t working from my side as I need setup help lol. All the best mate

Q.5th

My qualifying didn't go as planned took me a while to get a feel in the car which was strange considering my pace in practice and on the 1 lap i was on to for a time to challenge for the 1st row, when liams car decided to become Goku from Dragonball Z and instant-transmissioned in front of my car i slammed my brakes on losing all the time and then disappeared back up the road after that couldn't hook up a lap.

R.10th

Well what can i say about this race everything was going great having battles with Liam and Benji until i decided to pit to try and get the undercut on them next thing i know the cars doing 360s in the pit lane and the AI kept crashing into pit garages and wouldn't straighten the car up my race was lost from there, really annoyed as My teammate had a similar glitch in the pits where it wouldn't allow him to change tyres so he had to pit multiple times.

Car felt horrible had pace for like 3 laps and then was passed by Killer_Ramsey after that i tried to push the car to regain my position spun twice and then retired so overall terrible race yet again.

Congratulation's to @Gareth Williams for winning the Feature Race and Also to Benji for holding off Scooby to win the Sprint Race.

@Frank Finch Great stuff with the Broadcasting glad you decided to do commentary really enjoyed it mate please do commentary more often

The fuel tank is at the very front of the Porsche. Fuel is heavy, that is important for you.

I've never liked the whole license thing I remember in GA I got taken out by some herbert in a public lobby driving the wrong way down the track and I am the one whose record got hammered for it :/

I had issues saving setups for some reason, so had limited quali due to this, but it was what is was.

Feature R-5th
Got a tidy start, but had to avoid a slow starting McLaren. I moved to the left to go around, but shortly after got turned with contact and ended up in the armco. Had damage from this and needed to pit, so came in on lap one. After that is was a case of head down and try and get back into the points for a recovery drive. Had fairly good race pace in the end and moved up from 12th or 13th and gradually came through the field as people had accidents, issues and pit stops. Mid way through the race I was coming down the straight and saw Ben come out of the pits, but I couldn't quite get past around turn one without the possibility of carnage, so sat behind. I had better pace than Ben, but could not find a way past. Had some good close battles with him until I got a little hot coming out onto the back straight and lost the back, but managed to not hit the barrier. Caught Ben again after a few laps, but there was not enough time left to make any moves, so finished 5th. Happy with a decent recovery drive, from rock bottom but one.

Sprint R - 4th
Got a tardy start with this stupid rolling start. Not sure how much of a good idea these are, as no one seems to do the same thing, when to go is a contentious point, with some people taking advantage and going a fraction early, plus tyre and brake temps drop like stones.

Lost out to Oz on the start, but kept pace and stuck with the pack. Gaz got his braking slightly wrong and slid into Jez in Turn 2, spinning and then hitting Oz. I managed to avoid Gaz rejoining and caught Oz. We both started catching Jamie and the rest. It was apparent Oz had damage and I was able to go up the inside into turn 2 a couple of laps later and then was able to have a crack at Jamie. Managed to get passed Jamie, then got my head down. Eventually got another place as Liam went wide on the finial long bend, then a few laps later the same happened to Adam, which raised me up to 4th. I couldn't quite catch Killer Ramsey for a podium, but was overall happy with the result.

I came away from the evening feeling pretty chuffed, as I did not expect a result here, as only had a couple of hours practice. Even with the contact at the start of the feature, it felt like a good couple of races. No other major contact with people and put a few good moves on too. Tidy darts.

On to Monza!

Wasn't too happy about the sprint start but since there are no rules about passing too early I"m going to let it go.....

We should change the formation lap to you stay on the side you gridded.... meaning the leader will always start on the racing line.... allowing the leader to pick is what caused the chaos
