What I have noticed on 2 other websites is that there seems to be some very very harsh defensive measures taken when it comes to only one sim in particular....that sim is Project Cars.
I spend more time reading forums than playing haha, and I have been noticing over the past 2-3 months some VERY biased and a VERY defensive attitude of the website owners/moderators when it comes to any negativity towards only one sim. Project Cars.
I see lots of unusual stuff, like for example, people getting banned for things they would never get banned for if it were said in a non Pcars thread.
The sites that I have noticed these sorts of things (and other suspicious behaviour) are, nogripracing.com and virtualr.net.
I did some investigating and contacting people into this "gut feeling" that me and many others have had.
Well, get a load of this.
Apparently, the moderator of nogripracing.com (redi) works for SMS, and apparently Ian Bell is a moderator at nogripracing.com aswell (are you kidding me???). I also heard that the apparent owner of virtualr.net, Montoya, apparently works for SMS too now.
Basically, those 2 sites (and who knows what others) seem to be "controlled" by SMS. They even seem to have "special rules" just for the Project Cars forum/threads. It seems as if SMS is trying to take over all these great forum websites that we all know and love, and trying to control what is said about PCars.
I have never seen anything like this in my 8 years of sim racing and sim forum viewing. I have never seen any company/developer attempt to control or manipulate what can and cannot be said on these public forum websites, just so that they can control/filter out how much negativity is said about their product. It sort of feels like those future movies where the governemnt controls everything, and you have to make sure to "walk on eggshells" when it comes to discussing anything against their beliefs/motives.
What I and others, have seen/experienced with regards to biasing and the overall website control on those 2 websites, is frankly, well, distgusting.
