PC1 Pcars: A community divided

Continuation of Part 1: http://www.racedepartment.com/forum/threads/banned-for-no-reason.47384/

Its hard to believe a game has taken a community over like this. Now with legal proceedings, its kind of become a joke for simmers. I have been at this a while now and have never seen a game invoke so much negative and positive reaction. May the discussions continue :)

Ps. While i continue to support pcars, i respect RD for allowing the freedom of expression to all its members.

Got an idea: let's put this dispute behind us once and for all. New start now. Life's too short (really).
I concur C3PO. But it would never have started if it weren't for the likes of Micas.

Anyway, you are right. Welcome by the way. Are you still going to be part of the WMD/Pcars dev? I enjoyed reading your input. Just like I did on the various Flight Sim forums. ;)

Regards
Andy

Hi Andy,

Yes, I'm back at pCARS after a little bit away ;)

Having fun which is what it's all about...cannot wait for endurance races in GT cars with full weather and lighting effects from time-of-day changes!

Yes, those were the days at Frugalsworld!! Shame that site went down. I remember famous spats between the RPG and eRazor/SPx groups (I was in the latter camp I guess) over at Delphi too. Funny old days.

Hey, mate. I was with the F4UT, good'ol days with F4. [Also wrote an article for a flight sims site about the work the team was doing, appeared on SimHq and Frugals.]

Miss those days, man.

While thinking about Falcon, I remember a guy on Frugalsworld called Raptor -- insanely bright and knowledgeable but far too combative for his own good. Liked the guy but he just got himself banned so many times for very silly arguments. Such a shame as his contribution was otherwise great from the technical side. I wonder what he's up to now.

Old days, indeed. I've tried looking up "Israeli Air Force" on YT - not a chance in hell to find good stuff. I guess some people might remember it - a box, some cds and a 700+ page manual.

Normally, I would agree with you. Problem is, this discussion has been literally raging for months and got us nowhere. And some posts have been rather destructive.

You are right, we should not stop debating things just to avoid conflict. It's the other way around: stop conflict by properly debating.

May be we should go the NG way:rolleyes:

Temporary forum moderation rules

As we are sure you all can see, the pCARS section has got out of hand and in order to give us a chance to moderate it properly and keep threads more or less on topic we have imposed some TEMPORARY additional rules.

Until further notice, these extra rules apply IN ADDITION to the standard site rules.

The following is NOT allowed inside the pCars section (and will not be tolerated if sneaked into another section):
  • Any thread or posting referring to Race Department and/or it's conflict with SMS
  • Any thread or posting directly discussing another member of NG or pCars
  • Discussion concerning the business model of pCars (for now)
  • Statements that hold no ground/with nothing to back them up/with no point or goal
"this game sucks" -> NOT ALLOWED
  • Statements that properly expand a discussion are allowed
"In my opinion, I don't like the handling of car X because of this and that" -> ALLOWED
  • Do not endlessly quote other posts and dissect every last detail, say what you need to say and finish there

This list may be expanded or reduced as the NG staff sees fit to accomplish our goal of returning peace to this section.

This isn't about censorship of discussion we simply need to calm it down and we feel this is better than hitting people with bans.

You ARE allowed to:
  • discuss the game, its pros and cons
  • discuss technical issues
  • discuss modding
  • compare games

Be aware of what you type and how others might interpret.
Re-read what you're about to submit, and do not post on a whim.

These rules ARE strict and WILL be enforced, but we hope will not be needed for long.

There is a report button next to each post, use it if it's needed instead of replying to an inappropriate post.

If you have a problem with any member, post or anything else: send a pm to someone of the NG staff, do not make a public deal out of a private matter.

Finally please do not use NoGrip as your own private soap-box.

Nope, we won't go that way. But we will certainly disallow people mocking and insulting others - that's how it's always been.We don't want mindless rage posts either but we don't mind the occasional nerd rage. Just try to back your claims & postings up, that's all.

Also, please report every post that you deem to be in violation with our Terms & Rules and we'll take care of it. No matter if it's about pCARS or not, we cannot and will not accept people doing mischief within the RD community.
