In the uk, usually the sporting / technical regs of the series state which parts or sections of the MSA books apply.

MSA is the uk motorsport authority, responsible to FIA.

Do you have copies of the equivalent info, maybe I can help you out from there?

That is thoroughly EPIC man! What a magnificent chance you've gotten!
I only wish I could try this but it is very limited here in Denmark for such venues :)

Your experience in sims will definately be of help in regards to the rear wheel drive aspect, and the fact that its rear-engined too makes it a snapper into corners, as William Levesque said :) However don't fool yourself into believing you'll have trouble adapting or anything; motorsport started with RWD, and will continue as so! As always though, don't push it until you've gotten used to the car, and only after you've gotten some of its reactions under the belt and into your head can you start pushing it further and further! :)

I wish you the greatest of luck and hope you enjoy it as much as it sounds like you will! Please, do keep us updated on this! :)

Those are some wicked dreams, guys! :-D I had a few dreams myself, but the most lucid and predominantly awesome one is one I had around the summer holidays of 2011.

Like you Rhys, I had a very lucid dream as well. I am very interested in almost all aspects of motorsports but those that especially catches my interest is WRC/IRC/rallying-in-general, GT1 and F1. In that order, I might say.

Just earlier in the day I had been watching a local rally club doing some training stages for up and comers, and for the first time in my life I saw a 'real' rally-specced Subaru WRX STi, an '07 one in fact, the ones that look the most awesome, as well as '06, if you ask me. It was basically the time of my life.
Now, in my dream, which bounced me right back to that point, I was the driver of this Subaru.
Just moments before I had been standing and looking at the beast, admiring its beauty and ferocity, with its anti-lag system roaring away, and now I am sitting inside it, ready to drive the course.
I don't think I've ever had as good a dream as this, so bear with me if I'm slow at getting to the conclusion of this, hehe.
So anyway, I'm now ready to drive the course and the guy is standing there, counting down from 20, only saying a number in 5 second intervals.

At 20: Nerves start pushing on, and I can feel, even though I'm firmly asleep, that my adrenaline starts pumping harder than ever.
At 15: Never seen this many spectators at a local rally stage. And look, there is the funny chubby guy from the VW dealership.
At 10: Getting closer now, I feel a need to chew my nails off in nervousness and expectance of whats to come, but gloves are in the way.
At 5: It's real, it's not just me thinking or dreaming it. It's real. Here we go.

Launchcontrol sent me away blazing, probably writing my name in the tarmac, just as I have to turn a hard 90 degree right immediately after. Going down a straight for 4-5 seconds before I have to slalom between giant oil-drum sized cans (no idea of the significance of this haha), hitting brakes hard and shifting ferociously.
The sequential shifter had a logo on it, I noticed while going down the second straight.

Apparently it was made by Suzuki Denmark. Made no sense why, until I had awoken; a good friend of mine drives for Suzuki in local rallies, including rallycross.

I continue to the end of the straight, with a huge amount of spectators blazing by as I speed past them. At the end of that medium long straight I realize I have a co-driver who is also giving me directions. At first I'm like "What the hell, I can do this by myself, I don't even....." but then I realize it's an actual rally. I need that guy to get better times and as to not endanger myself - or him.
He starts spewing pacenotes as we turn left and right, then into some esses, then reach a small tarmac crest. He tells me to slow down but I don't, so because of the center of gravity and weight and ... well, physics!.. I start sliding as we come over the crest, as it has some gravel spread across it, granting less grip. It almost goes wrong, but after this point, all I remember is me and my co-driver reaching a finish line and getting appraisal from spectators.

I wrote this down in a dream-journal as I am very into lucid dreaming, which is why I got these details hehe!

Since that day I have been more than normally obsessed with getting into rally motorsport :]

It is widely expected that Dreyer & Reinbold Racing is on the verge of announcing that veteran driver Oriol Servia is set to join the squad for the upcoming 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series’ season.

We believed that the Spaniard is about to sign with Dennis Reinbold and Robbie Buhl and is on his way to Indianapolis to take part on the official announcement.

Oriol Servia had a terrific season in 2011, finishing 4th in the standings for Newman-Haas Racing but lost out his drive when his former squad decided to quit IndyCar.

We know that the 37-year-old was AJ Foyt’s first choice but, as it is often the case, lost out to Mike Conway, who brought sponsorship.

Dreyer & Reinbold will be powered by a Lotus/Judd engine and is still looking at running two cars this season.

This are fantastic news!

I think after a good 2011 season Oriol deserved his place on the Indycar, it's a pity it can't be with Newman Haas but at least it seems we will see him on track next season.

Does Oriol's presence in IndyCar actually do anything for IndyCar in the Spanish audience? Oriol says that Telemundo is with him because they would like to advertise themselves but if IndyCar isn't even broadcasted in Spain what point is there?

IDK, good to see Oriol get another full time drive. I've always liked him as a driver and he usually ends up in poor machinery or with a team that's in trouble.

Telemundo has nothing to do with Spain - they broadcast in Spanish in the US only.

All the Spaniards that want support in the US play the Latino card even if they aren't Latino, because considering how small the Spaniard-American group is they won't have any support, and on the opposite there is a huge Latino community that speak the same language and likes spanish-speaking celebrities.

I'm using the term "latino" as is used in US = Latin American.

I am not sure if I can find that in the series regs. I mean, there is a section about drivers equipment, that driver suit, helmet and shoes need to have FIA homologation, but actual and in apply. I dont know equivalent for it in english, maybe forfeited license? is not allowed to use. I was asking what that means, because in normal life, once is something homologated, its for the whole life of that product. I found some cheaper product in the OMP store, driver suit http://www.omp-shop.cz/arrow-evo-2.html , it has homologation, but the question is, if it is suitable for my use - has it valid homologation? I dont understand those terms like this CIK-FIA 2001/23/level 2 Norma 2001-1 Regulation

I know its karting suit, but its good example of the homologation question :)
Another suit, not karting, but generally racing, has this homologation: FIA 8856-2000 - confusing even more, there is no year or whatever

Thanks guys, I am quite scared of braking though, not just the handling, I am afraid of locking brakes, I just hope they wont lock in high speeds and I can push them 100% :D I was given chance to choose whether I want to drive FWD car, Favorit or Felicia (same powered), but I gave the RWD opportunity a go. Who knows when I can sit in such a car again :)

I really doubt he'll be out of a seat in 2012. But then again, you never know as the IndyCar's musical chairs is more turbulent than F1's atm. But I think Oriol will have a seat. It might not be a race winning one tho but if he continues to impress he should have one soon

Milwaukee Mile is rumored to be back on the IndyCar schedule and all they are working out is the details and the dates: http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/137280953.html

I really like Milwaukee, but I hate to say it, but no one showed up at IndyCar's oval races. IndyCar has had a massive growth in road course attendance and tv ratings but the ovals are still pretty dry. Which is weird cause IMHO the old Dallara was a horrible car to watch on the road courses and most of the best action were on the ovals.

But Bernard is going to "rent" the oval track which i'm not sure is a good investment for ICS. I'm sure that ICS is going to take a massive loss financially doing this so I'm not sure forcing more ovals is a good idea as much as I'd love to see ICS maintain a 50/50 schedule

Thanks Emil, finally I am moving forward. Dont you also know what ECE homologation means? And the FIA 8856-2000, is it valid for the requirement of having FIA homologated suit? There is no year or month, confuses me a lot.
