doesn`t mean everyones seen it

he was so lucky to have a well drilled marshal there so quick, that couldn`t have so easerly been a fatal crash. looks like the fuel cell on the porsche burst spewing the fuel into is car ekkkkkkkkkkk

The Marshals werent that great... They left him on the floor while he went off to do something else. There should always be someone with the driver especially when they are severely injured.

I'm an old fast guy new to simracing, thanks to my nephew Wyatt Gooden. He has been simracing for years on all the various platforms (SimBin, rFactor, NFS). Last year he entered the iRacing 2009 Jetta TDI cup and emerged victorious (over 1100 competitors), with first prize being a chance to tryout for the REAL 2010 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup. When he and his dad (my brother) called me with that news, I thought, "Hmm...that's cool...", but was clueless about sim racing. I'd done some vintage racing in the '90's, but this was all new to me.

Well, after spending this past weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, to cheer on my nephew in his home state pro racing debut, I'm more convinced than ever about the incredible realism in sim racing. Wyatt posted the fastest time in practice Saturday, setting a TDI Cup course record 1:39.3. In Sunday's qualifying, he just missed pole and settled for 2nd on the grid. In what was likely the most competitive and exciting race of the 2010 TDI Cup season thusfar, Wyatt got of to an excellent start but dropped back to 3rd within a few laps. In what was a masterful display of driving skill and intelligence, he battled his way back into second, finally overtaking the leader in the final minutes of the race for the win. An incredible Father's Day present for my brother. We're all so proud and think Wyatt's on his way to a great pro racing career.:D

If you're interested, google "Wyatt Gooden wins Round 5..." to read the press release.

hey guys.
just coming back from Daytona International Speedway (3 hours from my house) where i got to see what will change nascar forever. Guess by this picture without looking out the thread title:
ept_sports_nascar_marbles-549453508-1278124517.jpg
so what happened? Dale Earnhardt sr. came back from the dead and raced? did i take a time machine back to when this scheme was used? well no. His son, Dale Earnhardt jr. straped into the #3 car for the final time in honor of his late father. he used his dad's wrangler scheme used in the 80s' to remember the intimidator (looks like the old one on the new car). this was also the debut of the COT car for the Nationwide series.
during the practice sessions he was very fast and qualified 3rd (lucky number :) ) behind 2nd place parker kligerman and his former jr. motorsports driver Brad Kesolowski. On lap 3 while Dale went to the outside for the lead the fans jr fans or kyle busch fans raised their hands putting 3 fingers in the air in honor of the intimidator. Jr fell back to 10 for a lot of the race but was never out of the front field. Many cars crashed during the race and many lead the race during the 100 lap race.
ten laps to go in the race Jr was right there and looking to make a move. five laps to go while passing lap traffic on the outside Dale went to inside for the lead and took it taking a big lead but Paul menard cut a tire causing a caution and a green white checkered finish. Pit road was open and making a big cheer in the crowd was Kyle busch, one of the contenders for the win went into the pits losing his chance to win the race. Green flag waves and Joey Lagano gives Jr. a good push putting them in the lead. Lagano in the youth of his career was looking to add a big race to his list of wins but just could not make a shot at the win. Coming to the stripe Dale Earnhardt Jr. took the win in the #3 car with the scheme of his dad. This tribute was a big deal coming in the race and being that he won will be a very historic moment to history of nascar forever. Big emotions for the team espacialy for crew Cheif Tony Eury Jr. being Jr's cousin and the driver. Joey was able to keep 2nd while rookie Ricky Stenhouse Jr. wraped up the podium (no podium in nascar) while points leader and pole sitter Brad kesolowski finished 4th keeping is steak of staying in the top 13 all season long and Kevin Harvick wraps up the top 5. Do a race report on the Coke Zero 400 soon as i'm tirede right now because i went to sleep around 2 est at the track because race ended at 1 and woke up at 7 to leave an hour later so i'm tired.

I just stumbled upon this on F1Fanatic. Apparently Bruno Senna, when driving his uncle's MP4/8, took the chance to get out his phone and record himself driving back down the hill after his run. He uploaded the video to YouTube himself.

Good on ya, Bruno. :D

well this race was a late one. Race ended at 1am est after rain delays and red flag conditions. it was a raining day for the NSCS race at Daytona on 4th of July Weekend. it sprinkled for the whole pre race show which was an hour but rain enough to delay the race for probably an hour. Thanks to the rain our seats were right where rain was coming off the stands above us where my brother sat and he freaked out making me have to sit there and lay a puncho on my knees. anyhow on Friday qualifing was canceled making the field go by points giving Kevin Harvick the pole spot and jimmie johnson the outside pole. Kyle bucsh the most hated car on the field started 3rd while teammate Denny Hamlin started 4th.
Making his 600th start in the series 2000 nscs champ Bobby Labante said the famous words in motorsports to kick off one of the biggest events on the schedule. Kevin Harvick got a good start to lead lap 1 but the outside was still on the charge lead by Jimmie Johnson.
54743371.jpg
about the first 50 laps were clean and Kevin lead the most laps at the time but johnson still lead several laps untill coming in on lap 48 just a few laps after Kyle Busch which made everyone in the audience including me very happy as they were very close to going a lap down. But as Sam hournish was coming after them caution came out.
But on lap 103 i saw smoke on the backsretch then i heard kyle busch hit the wall and i looked at the jumbotron and his car was trashed making the crowd go absolutly nuts. Bucsh the leader was coming up to the outside and turned in front of Juan Paublo Montoya clipping him and busch slammed the wall ending his race. Kyle: "i was driving as staright as i can and i guess i turned right into the nose of the 42. yeah, i guess i was trying to wreck myself". in translation he said "i turned in front of JPM and he ran into me because he couldn't do anyhting and i'm blaming him for what was my fault". Ha at least he talked to the media he usualy walks right to his trailer and crys. darn i wish i had a picture.
On lap 114 Matt kenseth got really loose but saved it keeping from a wreck and touches nothing. Two laps later David Ragan gets loose in turn 3 and hits the wall and Daytona 500 winner Jamie Mcmurray had no where to go and runs into him and Martin Truex jr. gets into him and Jamie and Martin go to the bottom of the race track with damage and ragan spins around.
Lap 128 things get real aggressive as the leaders go four wide and Tony Stewart comes out the leader. this is definetly a sign of things to go as we have almost 30 laps to go. Lap 148 was the biggest wreck i have ever seen. Kurt busch hit Jeff Burton into Sam Hournish jr. and Burton comes back and hits Kurt into the grass and starts a huge crash. More than half the field had a piece of this crash including some of the front runners of the race.
54745361.jpg
but one of the cars involved was Mark Martin who caught fire and went into the pits when it really picked up and he stopped and officials hosed the car down while a crewman of Mark's teammate Jimmie Johnson grabbed him and knocked him out of the car. Crowd clapped as it was a very bold and heroic move for him.
54745452.jpg
this crash put the race under red flag conditions for 30 minutes. with 2 laps to go and heading to the tri-oval to get the white flag another big wreck occurs as Sam Hournish gets turned into the wall collecting Kurt Busch and Elliot Sadler.
54745456.jpg
this crash created a green-white-checkered finish for the race. Clint Bower Moved the outside to a lead to turn 1 but Jeff Gordon who was behind made a bold move by going to the outside of Bower to lead the outside but costed speed to that lane. In the back straight Clint hits Gordon into the wall slowing them down and Kahne got around him to lead the outside but Kevin Hravick had the lead on the indide with Teamate Jeff Burton giving him a push. But coming to the backstretch Kahne was in second while Gordan was in 3rd and Dale Earnherdt Jr. went to outside of Jeff Burton to take 4th while Clint Bower got turned around but no caution. No one was able to make a move as Kevin Harvick went to the Tri-oval winning the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway. Kahne finished 2nd, Jeff Gordan finished 3rd, Dale Earnhardt Jr. who won the Nationwide Race the night before but struggle with the car in the NSCS race finished 4th, and Jeff Burton will wrap up the top 5.

soon i will go over the stradegy of winning at 2.5 mile Superspeedways and what makes races here so speacial.

First pics: Rossi looking good on R1 at Misano test

By Guy Procter -MCN
MotoGP
07 July 2010 14:25

MCN's Michael Neeves has managed to talk his way into a heavily-secured Misano circuit this afternoon where Rossi is due to take the track for the first time since his shin-breaking Mugello crash.
According to Neeves - on a manufacturer visit to Bimota, Vyrus and Benelli - the entire Misano area is abuzz with talk of Rossi's return to action at the circuit. We'll bring you updates as they come.
UPDATE: @ 19:58

The first pics of Rossi riding what we believe is Cal Crutchlow's WSB Yamaha R1 have arrived. The nine-times world champ isn't visibly impeded by his recent shin injury, and completed two sessions of 10 and 14 laps.
But insiders say it's not his right leg that is the long-term worry but the shoulder he damaged in a motocross incident.

UPDATE @ 4:59PM
Rossi has arrived at the track and will be riding shortly. Dainese have supplied leathers with extra protection in the right shin area, seen leaving their factory by MCN editor Marc Potter earlier today. Rossi also has an enlarged right boot to accommodate his still-swollen right foot.

UPDATE @ 4:01PM
Rossi’s dad Graziano has just turned up at the circuit in his scruffy white Peugeot panel van.

UPDATE @ 3:45PM
Pirellis out, Bridgestones in: still no sign of Rossi but the bike's been fired up and it's ready to go.

UPDATE @ 2.39PM
An all-black carbon-clad R1 has been wheeled out for Rossi to ride. Bridgestone tyres are racked up everywhere, suggesting this must be a WSB-spec bike running 16.5in rims, also explaining the presence of the WSB crew. The garage has been fully adorned with VR46 livery and carpet making it look like a GP pit-lane in miniature.

UPDATE @ 2.25PM
A car track day is taking place, but activity surrounds a garage at the far end of pit lane.
Neeves says: "There's a bunch of Sterilgarda WSB mechanics hanging around and getting stuff like tyre warmers ready. A silver Mercedes Sprinter van has pulled in and is unloading something, but it's surrounded by security guys and back up right against the garage entrance so it's impossible to see if it's a road bike or a WSB machine."

Nice to see Rossi back on a bike......:D

I couldn't find this on our Speed network here in the states. This is a very poorly covered series as there doesn't seem to be a lot of coverage on the net on this series. Is it lacking in popularity? It's the only series that I follow and I want more more more....

Down with Team Maserati!!!!!

I am a fan of the Nissan team and I also pull for the Lambos but they never seem to be passing anyone. They're always the one being passed. the All Inkl team doesn't seem to have it together this year. BUT I'd like to have more stats to confirm this.... all I have used so far is the crappy official FIA website which isn't great.

Anyway, no more complaining... it's a great series to watch and I can't wait for the next race.
