Welcome to the RD Racing Club.

After last week it's time for a more gentle track.

Meadowdale International Raceway was a 5.3km track located in Carpentersville, Illinois. This challenging course combined features of both oval track and open road racing. A 1,6km long main straight and huge Monza Wall were just two of its more notable features. Most of the track was laid out on flat, open farmland, but the eastern portion featured curves, climbs and esses that undulated through a forest and over the western side of the Fox River Valley.

Especially the new and inexperienced drivers are recommended to participate. There are a lot of learning opportunities but without the intensity and stress of the GT3/4 cars or the endurance multiclass cars. It's also good step up for those kind of events.

Oh boy, one of my all time favourite tracks! I really hope that I can join next Wednesday! It's SUCH a good track. (Even better with a car that has the power to JUMP over the start-finish straight bump!)

Edit: the history of the track is quite sad - the Monza wall had tarmac which doesn't work nicely with the sun shining on it. The Italians knew why they used concrete...

I'm in!

Track is fast and fun, although some corners can be misleading: all looks well and controlled until you take the wrong line :roflmao:

I'll see if I can configure the Abarth properly this time. With the default settings was able to easily bring it below 2 minutes, should only improve from there.

Count me in, sticking with the Mazda though as at least I know the car if not the track. Looks good though. What kind of lap time will be typical?
Hi William, you could not know this but we have a gentlemen's agreement not to post laptimes before the race. We don't want scare off potential newcomers.

It's ok to communicate via a PM so you are allowed to post the question and asking for answers via PM. Also you can look on Emperor in the results to see which laptimes others have on the practice server.

Can anyone help me with some settings? I just upgraded my faithful Thrustmaster TX to one of the 'highly praised' Fanatec CSL DD 8nm yesterday. Where the u tube influencers go WOW! i am going EWWW. Kind of missing my old faithful at the moment, losing a few seconds a lap which as anyone who knows me i cannot afford to do. I know we all have different views but a few ideas of what to focus on would be great. I have made a lot of progress, but as of right now i am trying to get it as good as it was before. Sort of defeats the reason for changing it really. I am sure i will get there in the end but a heads up could get me there quicker maybe.

Hi Steve, I had the same experience when I changed my G27 for a DD wheel and Heusinkveld pedals. At first I was more than a second slower. The muscle memory needs to build up again.
And in the end it didn't make me faster in the lap only more consistent.
But the immersion is much better especially with the pedals.

These recommended settings are a good starting point

It's tempting to ramp the ffb up to 11 but that will soon become painful. Start ffb strength low and build it up.
These is also a setting in "CSP -> FFB Tweaks -> More physically accurate gyro implementation"

Activate and set strength to 25%. Can stop a lot of oscillation
