Modding Requests Thread

Maybe because they are jealous and it's embarrassing for them that we modders do better job than them. Who knows the real reason really, no one.
It's a performance question, I'd say. The current default textures can be a bit sharper than last year 'cause of same size but less content. Mirroring the texture at the same size as last year means having the same load performance as last year but with slightly sharper/better textures ingame (speaking from Codemasters view: Console gaming imho - not speaking about HD at PC, most companies don't care about it - steamkeys aren't their main profit).

Summary:
+ better for console gaming
- bad modding at pc

main profit comes from console games nowadays

As ParkYongLee has already stated, it's all to do with improved textures for console gaming.

They have optimized the textures so they can put larger logos and details in the texture files whilst taking up less room with mirroring textures and having the parts of the car that do not contain any sort of graphic detail all overlaying each other on a single part of the texture file to save space, which leads to improved graphics effect on consoles.

This game is and always will be aimed at the console market first. PC wise this doesn't even come close to the recorded sales of the PS3 and Eggbox. It probably still will be released on PC.....but I wouldn't be surprised if the PC version is dropped from the line up next time around it really doesn't sell well in comparison. And with the main sales aimed at consoles, with the fact that the new next gen consoles are here......PC might say bye bye.

It has never been intended to be moddable in the first place, it's only due to Ryder and his little bits of genius work that it was ever moddable to begin with. If it was ever intended to be moddable the coding would have been left open and you wouldn't have restrictions on model importing.

2010 version was still the best option of all of them for modding, as there were very few restrictions on textures you could mod, HD skies, lighting set per track, etc etc.

I really really don't know why this title is even still being looked at as a moddable option, you are less likely to be able to produce anything as you would want it to appear.......why waste time on it?

2014 depends on the market: if ps3 & 360 will be still strong, there won't be a new gen only version, thus surely having same texturelayouts again
Though, if there's going to be a new gen only version (2015 [?]), there'll surely be a PC version without a doubt, I'd say, as for the technical structure being on a very similar level (between ps4 and pc at least).
Of course, the possibility, CM would nevertheless remain their new texture layout, would still be high, but let's see what'll be.

I still have fun with F1 2013 at PC.
+ decent graphics (improves from year to year)
+ good F1 feeling (much more than AC or GSC)
+ simcade playable with controller [I'm not really a pure sim fan after all]

games like rfactor or GSC suck in graphics, I don't play in HD for graphics from 2005-2009 or so, else I'd have kept playing F1 2012 on 360.
AC has good graphics but needs to be finished first and must provide me with more than just having the cars on the grid

I wouldn't say GSC suck in the graphics department at all......sure it's not as polished as some more recent game titles using newer more up to date and powerful graphics engines, but it far from sucks. Plus for driving feedback it wee wee's all over CM's F1 titles. AC graphically isn't that great either actually, plus the models used in game could be polished up a bit. I've seen similar cars in other titles that are modelled better, better UV layout too. And don't get me started on AC's helmet models......:whistling:

After a lot of reading, I finally made my first F1 2012 skin and got it to work in the game. This is the most fun I have had painting cars since the Papyrus days. I wanted to make a City Chevrolet F1 tribute car and this is version 0.0. Do I need a HRT wire frame to be able to paint this car in 3D with Photoshop? I searched for 2012 F1 wire frames, but I can't find any. Thanks in advance guys.

Hey guys. Could someone do me a favor ? I need the original "audio/bundles" folder, cause I've accidentaly deleted the backup folder where the files where

if you got Mods, Just make a save of your game File including mods on the desktop for example.
If you don't got any mods, just go to Mygames in Steam, right click on F1 2013 and check the files of the game. It will automatically download all the missing files.

Once it's done, if you got Mods, paste your copied game Files on the "new" game folder to get back the mods fully. :)

haha, don't tell him about updates, they'll never come :D
And you know why? Because I was ill for 2 weeks, and the following week had a lot to study, and my room was getting renovated. If you REALLY want the updates on those cars, I won't release my 1992 mod, and you will get your updates.

But now I even don't want to do it, because of this post right here
