Modding Questions Thread

yea, i just found the original williams and installed it, has the same issue. im going to uninstall completely and reinstall the game i guess. is that my only option? im pretty far into a very good season and i would hate to kill it.
I'm telling you what to do, you don't need to reinstall the whole game. Just properties (I think)/Verify, and it will verify, update, and it's done. The original game is back

understood. didnt know what you meant untill i look in the menu's on steam. thanks, ill let you know the result.

If this works, will the new skins install?

I said I'm making a 1992 mod several times, and it includes the classic liveries. So... yes ;)
idc about your 1992 mod, mate
but I would care to find out how to fix the AI has two reartyres now but the player has not *weird* when replacing a 2013 car with an 80s car

Also: Why is the AI 70% faster than me, when all have the same car and .ctf. I am sitting in a Red Bull so speaking of database I shouldn't be overtaken by every car like I'm standing :?
It appears, the .ctf files perform different in 2013 season than in real classic mode and the cars have still KERS (lol) - I also forgot to set the setup for more speed but still I am 4sec slower than my teammate

can you make an update regarding the tyre ware.it is too much ,especilly for the gamers who use the keyboard and the pad joystick>>>it is almost impossible to complete a career race without stopping one extra time in the pit which ruins the race.

This is a pad game so I don't see a problem :D

Anyway, just type "Tyre Wear" in the search bar, I know there is a good mod that reduces tyre wear

Go to vehicle_livery, and change those generics to generics_c0
And to disable KERS, f1teams, there is a bar "has_kers", just untic that

Ok, thanks. What are all the other generics for _c1 - _c4 and _88, _92?

Edit: 2nd question was stupid, it's obvious but I didn't see the carsetup.xml at first

GenericS _c0 - _c4 are the classic tyre textures, which you need on these Williamses
_88, _92?
That's not what you need
Edit: Changing generics to generics_c0 results in cars having no tyres.
Change to c1?
Also, is there a way to see which team uses which audio bundle (engine)?
I think you need to replace the originals with classic engine sounds (renamed)

Err did you mean I shall change generics_c0 to generics and not opposite? Cause when I change generics then no cars have tyres, when the classic carfolders are now 2013 carfolders.
No, generics to generics_c0. Snd to fix the no tyre problem, change the "generics_postfix_file_string" from empty to "c0_"

As I was within the cars' folder generics ... I wondered about vehicle_livery.
Well, it's still very early in the morning, haha.
So I see c0, c1, c2, c3 are all the same: Goodyear and c4 is Bridgestone, None of the 80s use c4 I hope, else it will conflict later again.

Nevermind, only c0 and c1 are for 80s I see

1980's use c0 and c1, and it's early here aswell :p I think only some models differ, like c0 might be bigger than c1, and I know Williams uses c0 from experience

Hm, most of the teams have c1 entry, so I better change generics to c1 as I want to put all 80s later in the 22 grid. The one now was just a test if it works :D

hm c0 teams are the only ones not having "use_shared_tyres" ticked, what's that for, I wonder.

Edit: As I thought, using c1 for all results in having two fronttyres for c0 teams. So it will be the same when I set all to c0. Well, then I have to make sure I set the teams to the right generics.

Edit2: So I set it to c0 and it still has two tyres ...

I don't know what's wrong then...
