Modding Questions Thread

Me neither. I has absolutely no effect, if I change generics to generics_c0 or generics_c1 and set the postfix to c0_ or c1_ the game loads 2013 tyre with two LOD (classic and 2013).

I tried it the opposite way.
The whole game was set to default (also the liveries) but for rb2_00 and rb2_01 the generics were set to c0. Result: No tyres were loaded at all.

I copied the two entries from williams to rb, I don't type things manually, leads to mistakes

No need to repeat, as Graham Laing will merge your thread here ;)

hello, my idea is to change the color of the safety car , I've tried to modify the skin, but the car remains the same, someone could guide me? Thank you.

Has anyone an idea how to get the classic tyres colored depending on the tread, like the Pirelli tyres?
@aagancia @chargingcar maybe one of you know? Can't find a specific entry within the render_materials.xml so either the information is stored within the generics pssgs or somewhere else.

  • export f12013\cars\sc2\livery_main\textures_low\sc2_gen_low_main.pssg (you won't need high, you don't drive it)
  • open sc2_main.tga.dds with paint(.net/shop)
  • recolor, save as dxt5 and generate mipmaps (usually an option to tick when saving)
  • import the newly saved .dds into the pssg
  • save the pssg
finish

look at the right side: the red SC, just created it in this minute just to show you

Mirror Improvement ?

Hello,

I wonder if somebody knows it.
I bought a GTX 780 TI and now capable to run F1 2013 on max Settings.
Just great. I installed some enhancement mods and the graphic is becoming even better.

But still the Quality in the mirror is not good. Is there a mod avaiable to improve the mirror Quality ?

Thanks for you help and advise
Regards
Sven

There is a Modding Questions thread for these questions ;) @Graham Laing had a lot of work today.....

About the question, I don't know the answer to that :(

Go to C:\your user name \Documents\My Games\Formulaone2013\ hardwaresettings
and inside that find the hardware_settings_config named xml file. Use Fergo's BINXML editor to convert the xml file to text so that you can edit it and reconvert the changed text file back to xml format. If I remember correctly you should just increase the texture size from 512x512 to 2048x2048 and it will look much better.
