Modding Questions Thread

Open up the file you wish to change with the PSSG editor, then click import, and select your new texture. Then save back to the original file opened location. Do this for both High and Low textures in bespoke helmets.
How would I save in pic related?

Hi all!
Those lovely images on the loading screens (FI pitstop/Raikkonen & Perez side by side/Alonso at Monaco etc) - does anyone know where in the folders they live? Would like to be able to change them.

I know someone posted this in a Requests forum, but I don't remember it being answered.

Thanks!

I used the same one from F1 2012, Ryder CTF editor for this year's car files too. It worked the same!

Thank you! It works!

Do you know what strings i have to modify in order to "cushion" the terrible effect that make the car spins when i press a button to accelerate (with keyboard, throttle is so sudden)?

Hmm try modifying

(artificially make acceleration slower, but same top speed).
gear_1st = to higher number? Say 4
gear_2nd = 3.5
gear_3rd = 2.8

(try to reduce inertia hence reduce wheel spin?)
wheel_inertia_rear = 1 (from 1.05 of higher number)

and if all fails, this is sure 100% to work. (much more grippier rear tires hence much better rear traction, more power sent to the road to push car instead of lost in wheel spin).
grip_rear = 2

I'm at work, so can't test these values obviously. You can test though, see if it works? When getting back home I'll try too.

Cheers!

Thank you very much! I set all the value as you said to me exept for grip_rear that i set to 1,5 (maybe 2 is too much). Now the wheelspins are not a big problem than before....but it would be fantastic to find a way to make throttle gradual (and not on\off).

What do you know about "imput_throttle_power_pad" and "imput_throttle_power_wheel"? Maybe a sensitivity option for joypad and stwheel?(Hmm....why putting those options in a car-physic file?)

Hello all, im having problems with a texture im exporting the marussia's driver's suits so i can edit my name over max chilton's but when i export the file from higtxt_max_chilton.pssg via PSSG editor this is how it should look like:
0cbt.jpg

after opening the .dds in the exported folder in Photoshop it looks like this:
v3hp.jpg

Any ideas on this? using ryder pssg editor
version 2.0.2012.0919
Thanks

Hi guys, is anyone working on an FFB mod with tarmac rumble etc? There was one last year and it was great. The FFB in this game is a bit boring when on straights and not very engaging.

You don't really need a mod. It is just 1 value that you have to change in notepad and play around with:

Open the 'effectsetup.xml' file in FFB folder and change:

<FFBSurface scale="0.09" name="TARMAC" ( the default is 0.0)

I use 0.1 or 0.09:thumbsup:

It's all done with the Alpha channel.

First open your DDS file, and click on the channels tab then select the alpha channel only by putting a tick in it.

iips.jpg

You will be seein a Black and White alpha template....whites will show design black hide design.

On the Alpha channel go to select/all then tick the rgb channels and untick the alpha. Copy/paste the alpha channel onto the texture file. Blacken out the writing, then add the name of your choice.

Once done, merge the text and alpha layers together, do the select/all copy/paste back onto just the alpha layer for your ne w alpha channel. then remove everything you don't need now from the rgb texture channel and save as a dds.
