I restarted the session and ran the entire session in fast forward max speed...and below are the results: Front runners in front, back markers in back...I think Kimi was having a bad day.

But this shows that my ai_driver table works, but that the Player has MASSIVE impact on AI performance. Look at the Pole position time differences between the first session and this session! There's gotta be a way to change this...

I restarted the above qualifying session and went out with just enough time in qualifying for me to get in a hot lap without messing up the AI. Went ahead and finished the race, and look at the time difference between my best lap time and theirs...in qualifying I was .6 seconds faster than Webber in 2nd, in the race I'm .8 slower. And I wasn't driving poorly by any means.

This is a massive issue and 1 I notice all the time. Would be great to try and fix it but I can't help thinking it might not be possible.
 
Hi everyone.

I'm trying to edit some textures with the gimp. I have created the .dds file but when I load it in PSSG editor the image appears in an strange way.

What could be the reason?

Ì have to use this opportunity. How do you open dds files with GIMP? I export them with Ryder tool, I have dds plugin but can't open it. If you can help me, I will try it right now and see what could be your trouble.:thumbsup:
 
Every time i try to use one of the mods that includes an edited database file the game wont boot up, it just crashes.

I have been trying to install Mr Pibbs 2013 mod but the game doesn't want to know.

Any ideas?

BTW i was using the steam version but then downloaded a copy and installed a seperate version to see if that worked but whichever install i use it still crashes.

It's impossible to open F1 2012 .dds files with The Gimp. After exporting them with Ryder PSSG Editor I convert them to .tga with other program (I use Image Converter Plus). Then I open the .tga file with The Gimp and you can edit the file. Then, with The Gimp, export it to .dds and you have it; but these files in PSSG Editor are not shown correctly so there must be a problem of compatibility, but I don't know where is the problem...

So I exported some gloves logo with Ryder tool, opened them with Paint, saved as tga. Than opened tga with Gimp, made just one new line, exported as tga. Opened it in Paint and saved as dds. Than import into Ryder tool and picture was there just like it should be(that line I added). I am not expert on this field as you could see(didn't know that GIMP can't open dds) but I hope that this tutorial can help you.:thumbsup:

Thanks friend. Now it works! Saving the files with Paint.Net they work fine. With Paint.Net you convert .dds to .tga. Edit the .tga with The Gimp or other program and when the file is ok, convert it again to .dds with Paint.Net. Be careful that you must generate mipmaps when converting to .dds and you must select dxt5 compression format.

Any way of boosting AI performance for a certain driver? I want Kimi faster :D

Since a time ago I'm trying to improve Vettel's performance but I haven't got any success. I have tried a lot of things in the database but nothing seems to change ingame.

Perhaps if you are in a career the changes don't affect the game. Maybe starting a new career is the way to see these performance changes, I don't know...

Is there a simple way to change the order of the team garages?

I have changed the team order in the database. The only problem is that the pitwalls are in the previous order. Is there a way to change the pitwalls order?

Yes, but it's not easy. Ok, open patchup_ot in tracks/circuit (for some tracks it's patchup_ot2 in route0-folder) with RPE and change pit_perch_"team you want"_01_d.tga with the other of team file. But it looks not so good (problem with team-logo and sponsors). So better is to repaint the file with color of team without sponsors. This is what i did.
And you must do it for every track !!!

OK, I know. But you use the same files you edited in every track, don't? Is it possible that you upload the files you have painted?

Yes the same file for all tracks, but i'm not finished yet. Because i try repainted with team sponsors and logos, and i have not to much time to do this. So sorry for not uploading at the moment.:(
