Ello Ramon, saw you jumping in and out of practice yesterday :)

The Mazda does have quite a tight ratio, yes, but it's just a matter of getting used to it. It'll come, eventually.

If we had the ability to change it, people would be driving Solstices etc with incredibly tight ratios, which is very much removed from the real world.

Thanks so much bud!! Been having trouble getting below 16.1xx. :D

Stick it in 4th gear and leave it :) You can also downshift to 3rd and even upshift to 5th... All will give you .15.x.
All that matters is going high on the small straights and then a bit late turning in, but also keeping the inside line and longer than you think. Don't accelerate too early and keep the car straight and stable.
In the turns a bit of drift... Very small... is welcome.

Maybe the real aliens have better techniques, but still have done a time attack in almost all .15.x's :) All about getting into rythm.

For racing learn how to keep the car while driving inside lines. Once you peak into the inside, the spotter gives a warning to the outside guy. Therefor 90% of the drivers are aware of the safety rating and will back off :) LOOOOL.

Thanks again Ramon. I will definitely try your suggestions. I had been keeping it in fourth though. I may have been turning in too early. I'll try going deeper into the corners next time. :)

I have to say though, your setup is great for consistent 16. 2s and 3s for long runs. I tried using it on South Boston however and that got me into some serious trouble. :D

I used the advanced iR setup and had to put some camber back in to keep from loosing it in the corners. Was able to get to low 17.9s that way. Still a bit slow compared to others in the low 17s.

I'm not anywhere down in the timezones you are yet. Still too much rust to shake off from taking so much time away from sim racing. Still though, feels very stable and allows me to push myself a bit harder. Good tire wear as well. After 15 lap time trial, tires all at 99%. :)

I'll have to check that setup out, I don't have my gaming pc booted up at the minute, what settings are you running on that?

I got some advice in a practice from a guy saying he runs 24psi front 23 rear, 8 on perch, and 8 at the RARB, and I use a 54% brake bias and it seems to work really well for me at all tracks I've used it at so far, seems very stable and balanced. I managed a 1:41.3 so far at laguna, but I'm usually running 41.6-42.* during race, and as you said there is still time to be found but it's very scary.

I was a bit frightened on this track during practice because you're so on the edge at this track(but the skip feels excellent on the edge) but once I got into a race I found myself a lot more comfortable. I love passing people out of the final turn on the main straight, if you can keep on their ass after the corckscrew and make them go defensive in the final turn you can take them to the inside on the final straight and it feels so good(as long as you can make it stick after T2 that is). This is an awesome track for racing.

I assume you're talking to Ramon. :) Currently, my settings are his settings. All of his setups so far are top notch in my book.

By the way Ramon, are you considering running the Sliverado Trucks? :D

considering yes :) I still have <4 D-license on ovals..
Last week I got promoted to D from Rookie, so need to drive a bit in the time trials and races to get rid of the already nice monte carlo car.
I currently have all cars/tracks so consider me in the trucks when my license is high enough :)
