It looks great in my opinion to have laser scanned tracks and very precise physics, and the racing system is also very promising I think!

But this is very very expensive, and I don't think I'll give it a try, especially cause I've already bought GTR Evo and will buy STCC, and I think I'll settle for the Race07 family for a long time! Only excuse will be the F1 game Codemasters working on, I'm sure it will have a demo, and if I'll like it, then it'll also come to my collection!:) At least they say they will make it a full sim, hope they think it serious!

I wish for the crazy price you pay per month that you would at least have access to everything in the game and not have to pay so much extra for addition content. Seems to be the way video games are going with micro transactions however...

I played it a bit at a buddies house who signed up for a month, loved the graphics, and seemed more realistic than other games I've tried, but don't think it's worth the premium you pay...

Chevrolet Silverado Announced

We're thrilled to announce the Chevrolet Silverado race truck as the first of three GM Racing stockcars that will be added to the iRacing stable. The Silverado will be available to members for $15 starting October 15 and will replace the USAC Silver Crown Car for Class C competition in the Oval category when the new season starts November 2. (The Silver Crown will move up to Class B.)

Meanwhile, the Development Team is hard at work on Chevy's recently introduced Impala SS racing vehicle. It is already in development and is expected to launch as our Class A Oval car early next year.

So class C will be the Silverado
Class B will be the Silver Crown
Class A will be the the Impala SS in 2009 ;)

Milwaukee Mile Avaliable Now

home_milwaukee.jpg

The oldest continuously operating speedway in the world is also home to the newest form of racing. The legendary Milwaukee Mile is the latest addition to iRacing's collection of tracks and is available now to members for $20.

Although the track has seen several renovations since it opened up in 1903, it has retained its characteristically low banking, something which has traditionally leant it to open-wheel racing series.

Today's IndyCar drivers navigate the circuit in just over 20 seconds, while NASCAR Nationwide series teams typically log qualifying laps in the 30-second range, the lack of banking playing a constant tug-of-war with the heavier cars as drivers battle to keep it off the wall.

Whether open-wheel or closed-wheel, Milwaukee's near-flat banking will offer plenty of challenge to any oval racer.

I agree - it doesn't look or feel special enough to justify it's price tag and billing.

It might be a lot better in a couple of years time as they update it - but it's not a big enough step up to justify it's fee - perhaps this shows what an excellent job SimBin do?

They said Race:GRID would be a sim....... It was awful. Codies haven't made a good game since the first ToCA Race Driver - I hope they fix that, but I'm not holding my breath.
