Sorry it has taken so long to respond. I am awaiting verification from our Paypal contact but I don't think you need to be verified.
When I hear back from them, I will let you know.
Thanks.

Yes, as I thought, you do not need to be verified.

my be there was not enough money in your paypal
and paypal was implemented in iracing payment method especially for people that they can't get a credit cards

You posted this on the LFS forums didnt you? you didnt succeed there and i personally would advise no one to take up this offer as on the LFS Forum just like on here they have instead of "Licenced Member" under the username they have "S2 Licence, S1 Licence or Demo Player" and this person had "Demo Player" which would indicate he doesnt actually have a legit LFS account.

Is iRacing growing?

For those who aren't iRacers and wonder what's been happening lately. Here are this month's growth numbers for new subscriptions.

Not sure about total members, but Arrive and Drive race starts are were up 22% last week over the same week 3 months ago and that doesn't include Hosted, which would add another 20% or so. Bottom line is that subs are way up and I'm guessing re-subscriptions are too.

Basically, there are a more races than ever happening on the iRacing service. It may be just about to get over the hump. Each update adds new reasons to join. Next update is in 4 weeks.

Would be great if they lowered the subs per client every month if the user base is growing. This will = to more joining iRacing, me included.

They did lower the subscription prices a while back. When I started 18 months ago, it was $149 a year with $60 in iRacing credits. Now it's $99 with $40 in iRacing credits (ie for participation). Thus, if you plan on racing a couple races a week for a year it's $59 for the yearly sub (after the $40 particpation credit), which equals $5 a month. $5 a month is almost worth it just for the information on the forums.... Not quite, but the forums do have some interesting posts by the community and real life drivers. $5 isn't a lot.

You still need to purchase cars and tracks, but the prices on those dropped as well. It used to be $15 a car and now it's $12 and tracks were $15 to $25 and now they are $12 to $15.

Most people only have time to drive one or two series at a time. When all the dust clears it's usually about $20 a month or so for the first year if you drive a lot. Each year it gets less as you accumulate more cars and tracks, but you really only need to purchase what you plan on using.

The keep having specials too. I think right now there is a buy 1 month, get 2 more free promotion.

Don't want to be negative but what do these numbers tell you? Is there also a graphic that shows how many people leave iRacing per month? I rather see the totall of members that are active in iracing at this moment.

Are there now 500,5000 or 50000 people active?

You comment does sound negative by saying that this data doesn't tell us anything, but I'll assume you really did learn something from the new subscriber numbers and it was an honest question, so here goes, but first a comment on focusing on who isn't currently racing.... That's not a good indicator of much of anything, because many sim racers don't make it through a single season let alone 52 straight weeks of sim racing.

Racers leave every sim and every league I've ever been in... It's always a revolving door from the beginning of a season to the end whether it's LFS, rFactor, GTR2 etc. Consoles often hold their members 3 months and then they're back to playing COD/Modern Warfare etc. :)

Now to your question of whether the number of races have been growing since the launch, the answer is yes. Definitely. Race start numbers are growing faster than new subscriptions, which indicates either drivers are just racing more or subscribers that had unsubscribed have decided to come back and resubscribe. This is to be expected, because iRacing adds new features every 3 months, so it's tempting to come back. The race start growth can't be explained by the new subscribers alone however, because race starts are growing at an even faster pace than the new subscribers.

iRacing is up aprox 50% in race starts (actual drivers lining up on the grid for races) this season. Each season has set a new record. Last seaon there were over 267,000 race starts. This season should shatter that mark just from Arrive and Drive races. Add in Hosted and there is huge growth.

Below are the latest numbers for race starts comparing last week with the same week last season. 27% growth in Arrive and Drive official races. Add in Hosted and it's probably close to 50% or so. Compound that for 1 year and would be about 200% growth if iRacing can continue this season's pace. Hard to imagine iRacing can keep this pace up enough to triple the race starts in the next 9-12 months, but this season have seen amazing growth.
