Cars INDYCAR IR18 2023 MOD! 2.2

Also noticed there may be something odd in the install instructions. When I updated the bootfiles today to 16.4.4, I followed the instructions for this mod so I could get the correct entries needed.

The instructions say:
a) In the "Bootfiles" subfolders, navigate to "vehicles\" folder and add the followig line to the vehiclelist.lst:

When I did that the mod did not show up. So I did as I have done with other mods and placed the vehicle list in the standard vehiclelist.Ist, not the one in the bootfiles folder. Showed up.

Just a hint if anyone else is having issue.

Since this is a mod, any way to make the halo bar transparent in a future update? I always hate driving with those things even with triple monitors as it really obstructs your view unless your in VR

There is an Indycar 2018 model at cgtrader as well with no halo/screen available for purchase... maybe in the future?
i would pay upfront (kickstarter style) if its that good. ... or maybe Reiza will get some licensing agreement soon who knows.

I just placed the file to
xxx/ (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Automobilista 2\MODS\__bootfiles_1.4.6.4\vehicles and it worked again without any problems.

Before doing so, I deactivated the old files properly using the JSGME mod enabler and then manually deleted the old bootfile folder.

Realistically it's the same car without the Aeroscreen... It's still called the IR-18... So there's no real need for a new model for that idea...

Yea actually they had a small sturdy pole on the ir18 just before the screen was introduced.

But yea if the screen is easy to detach in the model.. the chassis is still the same. Pretty old car already.

There's been some interesting feedback on the gearing so far...

Some say it's too short, others say it's too long... Which could mean the default isn't too bad as it is...

Trying to get something that works for Laguna Seca and Elkhart Lake is a hard balance to find...

Are there any good tutorials on creating a custom livery and adding myself as the 29th driver? Would love to join the group as a rookie driver and run a championship but havent found any good videos or instructions on how to do it.

There's going to be some other small additions and changes that we'd have to make... Like the attenuator which is new for 2023... But the base model is very much the same now as it was then...

In the 2 livery read me files provided there is information for skinners for both ways to override the white livery...

One little doubt is that maybe the engine needs to rev a little quicker, could be gearing or something else, but to me it doesn't quite have the pep of the real one.

Or it could just be me, either way it's magnificent.

No, you should have the full grid of 27 to choose from if everything is installed correctly. Plus you can activate a 28th 'MyTeam' car and make your own livery for that if you are inclined to, and there are some spare/alternate liveries included which you can sub in (see readme files for details).

If you're only seeing two (i.e. one team?) then maybe double-check your vehiclelist.lst file and the instructions for that.

People have to understand that the Generic Mod Enabler is just a copy/move tool.

it takes the files from, for example:
.....steamapps\common\Automobilista 2\MODS\__bootfiles_1.4.6.4\vehicles\*

and copies it to:
.....steamapps\common\Automobilista 2\vehicles\*

so when you start ams2 it matters what is in your .....steamapps\common\Automobilista 2\vehicles\vehiclelist.lst file. So double check the file entries were copied over there.

and if you do any changes in the __bootfiles subfolders, just disable and re-enable the bootfiles mod in JSGME ... that way it will update all files again.

Hi all, I just found out a bug. If the race starting type is standing, the AI seems to be very slow when the light out. But it seems normal when starting type is rolling. Does anyone also have this issue?

Yep, same issue over here... I had to wait for them after the start...
