Drive on the right side of the road then like normal people :whistling: It's quite a decent car to drive the Civic, Robert seemed fine in Chevrolet but i suspect that's being American the eyes light up when they hear the word Chevrolet it's like BBQ sauce on ribs to them you can't separate them
maybe i'll go for another toot in the honda tonight and see if i can get the thing to stay on the road.

LOL, actually, my first car was a Nissan, my second car was a Nissan, my third car was a Nissan, and my fourth car was a MINI Cooper S. I now have a Ford Fiesta because the guys on top Gear like it. Nice car. MINI was fun though. I hate Chevy. In fact, I don't like American cars in general, but Ford is a different kettle of fish. It's hard to know where or who makes a car these days, especially the Asian and American makers, but, hell, Ford owns Jag and Aston Martin I believe. I like the Chevy because it's FWD and, for me, that means faster. It's well balanced and had done well in competition. But I'd rather have the BMW, but it's too tail happy.

P.S. - The only real BBQ sauce is on pulled pork and it's clear, very spicy, and made with vinegar and brown sugar.

Even though I am not racing here I had a little session last night (20 minutes practice session for each car) trying out the Honda (which I already own) and then the Chevy again for comparison.

My previous best was a 1:26.84 in the Chevy and I was well off that initially in the Honda. The car feels quite sloppy in the turns so time was lost through those fast sections and also doesn’t appear to have the greatest acceleration so it did take some getting used to but after a while I gradually found a comfort zone, adapted to the very different handling and was far more comfortable through the faster turns and managed to get the lap time down to a 1:27.07. The braking in it is superb, I was able to brake much later in it than the Chevy. I am sure there is plenty more time to be found in it but it is a more unforgiving car than the Chevy but for that reason is a really fun challenge to drive. Stiffening up the suspension would be my first change and opening the diff some would also help I would think.

Went back in the Chevy and was quickly up to speed and soon improved my best by a few tenths to a 1:26.51. The car feels much more precise to drive and gives a more solid feeling through the fast sections which just gives you that bit more confidence to push and find that extra tenth or two. I do wish we could compare the lap times at the end of a session to see exactly how each car compares through each sector. I don’t think there’s a great deal between the two cars in the first sector but the Chevy eeks out a bit more of the next sector and was more stable through that final turn as well.

If I was racing in these next two races I would probably be tempted to go pick up the Chevy (only 200k I think) as I feel I will be more consistent in it, especially in an un-tuned state and keep the Honda back for when I’ve had more time to get used to it and been able to get a decent level of tuning available for it.

I will likely take a slightly different route, although I agree with your analysis. Since I want to give Forza 5 a chance (and I have a soft spot for Road Atlanta), even though I doubt it's race ready, it would be fun to play on my own or with a couple of friends in a one off or something. More SIM like and I'm all for that. But the real shove is going to be Project Cars for me. I think November is pretty solid and from all indications, this is as close to Assetto Corsa as we will be on the console so far. I can see many types of leagues stemming of if it. And I'll probably stay with F1 on the 360 if my buddies do...what's the point of having slick game if you can't race your mates, no? Hopefully we can generate some more interest (watch for a profile on Race Department GRID League on their blog soon!) and make this Autosport thing a real hit. Glad to see the patch is round the corner. I'm not all that miffed by it, for some reason. I'll get my original file back (which has all the cars for this season) and can level them up pretty quickly.
I'll watch with interest regarding Project Cars Robert and hope they can stick to the date. It kind of reminds me of a game that was purported to be coming out time and time again some years ago and they released beta this, beta that but it ended up never seeing the light of day in it’s entirety. The name escapes me at the moment. Forza 5 at least is there now so that’s something solid if you are going the XBO route and of course the new F1 title is now definitely going to see the light of day on there too so there is more reason now for guys in our group to make the jump.

I think our little community is going to be in real danger of fragmenting badly in the new year so it’s likely to be a real change in those early months I feel. Most that have taken the plunge early with the 360 have not returned to also continue with the 360 (my own team mate and Pete Evans to name just two) and I think that’s the way it will be for most others that go that route next too. Hopefully enough remain in the 360 fold to enable things to continue in some form.

@Robert Waddell
I had a quick look last night at the levelling up on the two cars I have and based on that it would seem that each car is more or less the same.

MINI (LVL15)
Brakes – Currently on the most basic tuning and Lvl 24 is required for the second stage of tuning.
Differential – Currently locked and Lvl 16 required to acquire the basic tuning (-110>0>+100)
Downforce – Currently locked and Lvl 25 required for the basic tuning (-100>0>+100)
Gears – Currently locked and available to open for $1000 to the basic tuning (-100>0>+100)
Suspension (Front and Rear) – Currently on the most basic tuning and Lvl 18 required for the second stage of tuning.

HONDA (LVL9)
Brakes – Currently on the most basic tuning and Lvl 24 is required for the second stage of tuning.
Differential – Currently locked and Lvl 16 required to acquire the basic tuning (-110>0>+100)
Downforce – Currently locked and Lvl 25 required for the basic tuning (-100>0>+100)
Gears – Currently locked and Lvl 14 required to acquire the basic tuning (-100>0>+100)
Suspension (Front and Rear) – Currently on the most basic tuning and Lvl 18 required for the second stage of tuning.

Interestingly the Mini allowed the basic tuning of the gears to be purchased but not the Honda.

I may be around later tonight or tomorrow if you are likely to be around to try some levelling up. I’ll give it a go with one of the BTCC cars even though I won’t be racing them this time as I’m sure we will return to them at some point once this series is over and I would like to see how far you need to go to open everything up.

@Robert Waddell You might want to look at not running this on Saturday now that there are 3 drivers unavailable on that day. Be a shame to have just a few of you trundling around this great circuit.
You mean Sunday? Or Monday?
I have asked the question but I'll do so again because maybe people are missing it with the different forums being fairly active. Although I cannot run Monday unless it's early, I think earlier Saturday would be an option or before the Classics race on Sunday. I think only Matthew said he could anytime and Railer can run before 1pm on Saturday.

Could you (@Karl Fuss, @JordanHampson-P70EM, @Chris Hempsall, @Balazs Floszmann, @Railer Cantrell) still make this if it was moved to 1pm EDT Saturday (6pm BST) or earlier; or if it was run before the Classics race on Sunday, say, at 3:30pn EDT (or 8:30pm BST)?

No problem. Just give me a time and I'll be on. I think Matthew and I got to level 2 on all the parts in just 10 races, or about 30 mins. (At least I know he did, since he finished first in most of the races). I could use some more levels on the suspension and the diff.

anytime is good for me

It looks like we would be moving this for one guy, Railer. That's fine, but he's not worried about missing it, but I think he'd rather do it on a Monday (which I can't). Maybe the Sunday option will fit, or I could just pick a day next week AFTER monday, since we all seem to be able to race on weeknights, depending on my schedule and Jordan's.

Understand.

Well I got on once again to try to have a run at this levelling malarkey and again no joy :poop:

Nothing in the lobby to suit so I created one of my own but for some reason my Honda was not amongst those cars available to select, only 4 loan vehicles were there :O_o: Any ideas why that would be?

I checked a quick Mini lobby and my Mini was there to choose so no idea what is up ah the Honda.

Really starting to get pi$$ed with all this :poop:

Any ideas welcomed guys.

Edit: I've just had another look and I think I'm on the verge of a corrupt save as my Honda is at sale price of 1.5M having cost just 200K. I've read plenty of posts on CM's forum stating that this is an indication of impending problems.

I would sell your Honda and buy another one. If this corrupts your game, save and start anther profile and buy the same car. You can save as many files as you corrupt. Hidden advantage is that they will all be unlocked with patch, which will give you that much more garage space. Just be sure to save them to the cloud and the flash drive.
