Home win for Hunsley
Jordan driver Jack Hunsley has taken a big step towards title number 3, winning the race at Silverstone in front of his home crowd. Engberink took his 4th podium of the season with second ahead of the second Jordan of Kederer.
The McLarens couldn't hold on to the top spots at the start, Hunsley jumped past Keranen when the red lights went off, one lap later he overtook Foro. Kederer lost 6th to Diehl, and Utzer dropped back behind Wolf and Martins. Ancevski soon went past Keranen and made on to chase Foro. However he was too impatient in getting past and spun in Club corner, dropping all back to the end of the field. Two early retirements, Goddard stopped with an oil leak, and Rinneaho suffered an engine failure. Keranen couldn't keep Engberink, Diehl and Kederer behind him and dropped further back to 6th. Utzer retook the positions he had lost at the start.
First round of stops came, and the order at the front changed slightly. Hunsley held on to first, but Foro dropped from 2nd to 5th. Harvey had worked up to 6th ahead of Utzer and Laad. Ancevski still far away from points in 15th. Keranen had dropped out of points positions, as did his teammate a couple of laps later when he had to pit again due to technical problems with the car. Kederer got past Diehl, and Utzer managed to pass Harvey. Ancevski had worked up to 11th when the final round of stops started.
Running order after the stops was Hunsley leading ahead of Engberink, Kederer, Diehl, Utzer and Harvey. Ancevski was in 9th now behind Wolf and Laad. Laad passed Wolf for 7th with 7 laps remaining. One lap later Keranen's race came to an end, he retired from 11th. Within 2 laps Ancevski first got past Wolf, then he took 7th from Laad. Teammate Harvey was running right ahead of him now, and didn't put up much fight when Ancevski went past for 6th in the penultimate lap.
