Kederer takes home win
Jordan driver Tobi Kederer took his first win of the season, holding of teammate Hunsley and Ancevski in the final laps by a few seconds only.
At the start Hunsley used pole to take the early lead, while Keranen jumped past both Foro and Kederer to 2nd. Ancevski had lost 5th to Utzer, but was soon able to retake it. In the midfield Engberink was struggling with a high fuel load, dropping all the way down to 11th. Martins had to stop his car early with a puncture. Graham and Laad too didn't get much further, a collision in turn 1 ended their race. Engberink's day didn't get any better, teammate Rinneaho pushed him off track after having been blocked for several laps. Keranen suffered a suspension failure in lap 8, again losing valuable points. Sigoulakis spun in turn 5 while fighting with Rinneaho, and got hit by Brugman. His race was over, and Brugman had to pit for a new wing.
Being on a one stop strategy Utzer took the lead when the top 4 pitted. Hunsley and Kederer rejoined the track behind the Williams, while Ancevski dropped to 6th behind Buurlage and Diehl. Foro found himself in 8th behind Black. Hunsley made a mistake in an attempt to pass Utzer, allowing Kederer to get past. Wolf retired with a gearbox failure while the pit window for the one stoppers had opened. Kederer now led the race, closely followed by teammate Hunsley. Ancevski was 9 seconds down in 3rd, Foro another 9 in 4th. Lintner and Ishikawa had worked up to 5th and 6th.
Final stops came, but the top 3 remained unchanged. Buurlage was up to 4th, followed by Black and Foro. Utzer retired in lap 55 with a gearbox failure. He was running in 11th at that point, 2 mistakes had dropped him out of points contention. Black couldn't hold on to 5th, a mistake in lap 58 dropped him to last place. Diehl and Foro profited, moving up to 5th and 6th respectively.
