Someone who actually understands the needs of a well equipped Sim Racer needs to give a report. Does it support multiple controllers? Or at least two? Mouse look in Cockpit view, if not Trackir? Will it run in Window mode and have a place to enter custom resolutions?

i cannot use my clubsport v2 pedals with the tx wheel. but honestly this isnt even that kind of game. This is a game you sit back and play with a controller. Im having a blast with my xb1 controller. this is way closer to need for speed that it is to any of the usual sims.

FH3 will not satisfy those looking for "Sim Racer" features. As for wheel support, they have said they are working on it - today the support is more for standard wheel/pedal combos like my Thrustmaster TX w/T3PA pedals. The FFB is NOT on the level of the PC sims but I still would rather use my wheel as I'm terrible with a gamepad.
Window or full screen with custom resolutions - yes. My monitor supports 3440x1440 but it takes more than my PC can handle at Ultra settings, I'm hoping they will optimize but still looks great. As for mouse look and TrackIR, no. We have to remember, this is the first go at a PC version of a AAA big budget car game - they may or may not develop more features for the PC version. There's no comparison on what has gone into this game compared to AC, R3E, rF2, pCARS, etc. - it is a feature rich and polished "game". It won't be for everyone, especially if sim features are a requirement. I'm not saying I'm a "hard core" racing sim guy but I've had most every sim game since ever (old as dirt) - car games is all I play (Dirt Rally, pCARS, AC, R3E, AMS, fFactor 2, F1 2016 soon, ...) with a preference to "sim" types but I do enjoy most any car game as I'm car enthusiast. I love cars (BMW twin-turbo IRL now) and have had many performance cars over the years, many I've tweaked/built engines/suspensions. This all means nothing as we are all different but only added for why I would purchase an arcade car game. It's got cars, they look and sound fantastic, it's open world exploring, and technology (accomplishments) interests me. My $.04

EDIT: I'm getting noticeable steering lag on the PC, will have to try on my XOne as I don't remember this with the demo.

Thanks for your synopsis. You must of forgot or don't have "The Crew". It's a triple A car game ported to PC that supports most the features people with sim rigs want. I think if a company is going to charge premium price for a PC port, they should do a full PC version, and not a half-ass one. Microsoft will have to cater to PC gamer's, if they really want to capture that market. Just my 2 cents.

I initially had some thoughts on this but, I'm trying to remember a quote my mother use to always tell us.........Oh ya, "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all"

Thanks for confirming this....that's a pity then, i wont try/buy unless it has multi controller support. :(

Nobody wants a sim. Everyone is fine about what the game represents. People just want to play it with their sim equipment, and that's more then understandable. I already switched my Fanatec pedals with the stock T300 pedals to play Apex, and that's plain ridiculous. Afwul pedals, doesn't make a difference if you are playing rfactor or an Arcade game, they remain awful pedals.
I am in the same position as many other car fans here - i'd like to buy the game, but i won't spend any money on a game that doesn't even support the most common pedals/dual controls. It's not even a problem to implement, a lot of different arcade games (old and new) don't have problems with that.

Sim isn't defined by games that support computer game hardware. Sim is just the physics of the game. Every game sold on the computer should have stuff like. Window mode, custom resolution, multi controller, mouse look, etc. That's how a computer system works. So if your going to sell a game to computer users, support them. As my mother told the salesman at the front door. "We don't buy snake-oil and 1,500$ vacuums in this house."

I will also confirm that there is limited Wheel support right now with the PC version. I cant use my TH8A shifter. I have a TX wheel and That works. However I would like to custom map a few buttons, like my shifter paddles, and you cant do that. There are the 5 standard Forza wheel preset variations, and you have some options like "switch gears" up/down (might not be exact term), and a few others. Anyway this didnt work.

On the Xbone, you CAN use a separate TH8A shifter, plugged into the wheel base, but not as separate controller, and all other preset functions work like they should. Overall the Xbone works much better.

I assume there will be improvements and bug fixes ongoing, as the PC version is Brand New.
I was hoping that maybe using the Thrustmaster Profiler I could adjust somewhat the FFB. Didn't seem to help much, and the FFB seems to be the main "weak point" of the game. Having said that, and understanding that good FFB is VERY important to me on racing games, there is enough to "get by" barely, and still enjoy the game. It is alittle weird feeling tho, and I thought it was alittle better in Horizon 2, (maybe just different). Anyway, Hope it improves with updates.

As for Physics, It's an arcade racer, with "Simcade" elements, like extensive car tuning and upgrading, all standard Forza stuff. But nice.

Honestly - VERY FUN overall :)

If you are a PC user, probably best to hold off for at least another half year, to see a first price drop, bugfixing, better performance and support of more devices. After all i have read, i am not really interested until then. Too many compromises for a PC user

Forza Horizon 3 is just as arcade as Forza Motorsport: Apex is. What I would compare it to is the original Race Driver: GRID (before they messed it up with making sequels). That one had pretty enjoyable handling with general physics laws in good order, but made to be accessible by a wider audience. Can't even count how many hours I spent with that game back in the days. :)

I like the look of this game as I like car games but to make it Windows 10 DX 12 only is just ridiculous and basically just Microsoft being more vomit inducing with their ' must get Windows 10 ' garbage . Dont get me wrong , Im not dissing the game for those of you that like it or are getting it . I hope you enjoy it . It certainly looks good and Forza games usually play pretty good too ( I have Forza 4 on XBox 360 ) but to make it DX12 only is just absurd and will hurt their own sales all for the sake of their must update to Windows 10 mantra .

man.. I'm glad i didn't have high expectations for this game like some of you. I feel like this game would just be a disappointment with a wheel anyway. It was made to work with a controller first and wheel support is secondary.

Oh it won't. Believe me.

Matter of fact, it will boost the sales of sorts. Since you're buying possibly a game for two platforms at the same time, if you're buying digitally.

And what's more, this game is getting rave reviews being called one of the best if not the best game of the Forza series, you can look out on Metacritic, well whether it's paid review or not, then you can look it up later: http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/forza-horizon-3/critic-reviews

And I never seen the Forza Horizon series games sell not a whole amount of copies. This will be the probably one of the two leading games in sales for the Xbox One console (probably NBA 2K17 will take the title).

On the question of the PC sales being low (which I don't believe it will), well that's a different story, they made clear since E3 that they'd run this game on Windows 10. So they must be ready for this outcome.
