Goodbye numbers... welcome back Sponsors and Buys ! As we still don't have money in this game, every rewards, buys or trades are in
Pace Points (PP).
Every race, you'll get a
PP reward if at least one of your car fulfill your sponsor goal (picked during off season) :
Then, you will be able to spend your rewards into your car. You can upgrade two different departments :
Aerodynamics or
Engine
I've introduced different
track styles. It's very simple and not very realistic but it brings a new form of management to the game. We'll now have
Aer. &
Eng. tracks which are working this way :
Pace of your car on an Aer. Track = 80% Aero PP + 20% Engine PP
Pace of your car on an Eng. Track = 80% Engine PP + 20% Aero PP
Here's an example of how you'll see which track is what, at the beginning of each season :
(This is what could have been the 1956 calendar. As the Aer. and Eng. stuff are totally non-accurate, this will be set randomly. The '56 Italian GP can be Eng., it doesn't mean that the '57 one will be Eng. too.)
Now you know how it's working during the season, here is how it will work during Off-Season :
I like the idea that a team has to
build its own car every year... so every season, you'll start from scratch !
• Each Tier will give you a minimum pace (in PP) :
• Don't forget that your bets are still part of the game. Every correct guess gives you a PP bonus :
• We also know that the worst position is to be a midfield team as you can't get a good driver and you can't sign the best rookies either. So here is how the "reshuffle" will work every season, based on your drivers ratings. If both your drivers are D Class drivers, you will receive 6 PP bonus to build your new car. If both your drivers are A Class, you won't get any PP.
• Every team will also receive
5 PP at the beginning of each season.
There are also some basic rules that are introduced with this new system :
• You cannot buy more than 9 PP on one department during a market. (so you can't spend more than 18 PP at once, +9 Aero +9 Eng)
• You won't be able to have more than 10 PP in your
reserve after a market and after only. Every PP saved above will be destroyed.
• It will cost 3 PP to fire one of your driver, as long as your other driver is still contracted for at least the upcoming season.
