Incident 1

- Time period of the video to be observed: All of video
- Drivers involved: @Mathieu Légaré
- Any and all damage incurred in the incident: None
- Approximate time lost: Roughly 15 to 20 seconds and almost 2 places.

I'd made what I thought was a perfectly good overtake but ended up in the gravel. He didn't wait.

Incident 2

- Time period of the video to be observed: All of video
- Drivers involved: @Mathieu Légaré
- Any and all damage incurred in the incident: None
- Approximate time lost: None

Since it was me he was talking about when he mentioned Sauber thought I best post my view. I went for a gap that was there, got a wheel alongside and then Mathieu turned across me.

I tried asking Tom but he didn't have the S1 or S3 stats, I found S2 on PRL but they didn't post S3, I remember we left half way through it but S3 was completed on PRL, it's just not on there previous results page. I would put S2 into this stats table but it wouldn't make sense just having S2 without S1 and S3.

Not quite the race I had hoped for.. The rapidfire start meant I didn't get my setup loaded and also had no time to set my recording device up before we were under way so a bit disappointing in that respect.

Anyway, off to a slow start (not quite getting the hang of these starts in the classics but not the end of the world as I usually make up the places lost in the first lap or so.) and went into turn 1 at the back of the pack (albeit a very small pack with no AI lol). Made up one spot when Daniel went wide into turn 4 and then followed behind Robert and Railer who seemed to be having a nice dice in the Williams (their engineer was pulling his hair out I reckon lol). Had a go down the outside into the last chicane when Robert ran a bit wide out of the right-hander onto the back straight but braking was not what I expected without my setup so I overdid it and went over the chicane so pulled over on the exit and allowed Robert to take the place back. Got quickly back on the tail of Robert and Railer who were continuing their battle in front of me but got past Railer on the short straight between turns 4 and 5 and then closed in on Robert at the Schumacher S. Was looking to get a nice run on him down the back straight but he speared off to the left on the exit of turn 10 leaving me a free run from then on although a sizeable gap had opened to Boothy and Karl on those opening laps. The opening laps were the only time I had any opposition to worry about during the race which was a bit of a bummer with so long left and my problems were compounded when I decided to try to get my recorder running for the rest of the race now I was in some free air… after rounding turn 7 I switched my device on and pressed record only for the screen to black out leaving me no idea what was going on on track.. by the time I came back my car was over to the side of the track scraping the wall on the run up to the fast left-hander but luckily no damage was done and I was able to carry on with just a loss of time.

With the rain starting very light around lap 6ish it was a case of whether the tyres would last long enough to get onto inters rather than stop for another set of options and with my times suffering badly without my setup anyway I decided to just stick it out… it seemed to take forever for the weather to change enough for the inters and I eventually came in at the end of lap 11. It was actually good to see the weather for this one, it stayed pretty light for a long while making the timing of the stop difficult to judge and even when I stopped it was still a toss up whether options or inters would have been better. Gradually the inters came into their own and the rain increased in intensity but never quite enough to go to the wets (which I think is pretty rare in the game from my experience).

I never really got comfortable with the car in the race and couldn’t push on so just aimed to be as consistent as possible, the gap to Boothy and Karl was too big to bridge and the gap to either Dan, Robert or Railer had grown to over a lap so there was no pressure for me to worry about from behind. The only time I had any other cars on track with me was just before the change to options when the Williams boys were behind me for a few laps looking for a chance to unlap themselves. They closed up to me after a couple of little errors before I pulled away again and then the rain stopped and it was time for a run on options for the last half dozen laps. I probably should have come in earlier but with nothing to gain or lose I stayed out. Never really had the confidence in the car to push at all even in those last laps and ended up with a fast lap some 2 seconds off my best from a practice race the previous night.

Found the 98T a fun car to drive, probably the hardest one so far but enjoyable all the same. Very disappointed to have to run it without the setup I had sorted out and as a consequence it was not such an enjoyable race as it could have been. Looking at the lap times I reckon I could have been up with the two Lotus 100T’s or at the very least a lot closer to them as I was running at that sort of pace in my offline GP. As it was I was caught in no man’s land once again unfortunately with big gaps ahead and behind.

Racing over the Easter weekend is pretty much out for me (wedding on Sunday would you believe!!) so I’ll have to miss Brands Hatch and move on to Portugal in a fortnights time. Hopefully we can arrange a Brands Hatch 90’s club race at some other time as I would like to try out that Williams there.

Congrats to Karl and Boothy on the 1-2 and everyone else for getting to the flag.

Aaaaaaand... Turns out I won't be able to join as well. Tomorrow I'm going home and since I don't have my car around (I left it... at home...), I can't take my PC and steering wheel with me to a bus. But I AM taking my laptop, so I can host the race if you guys want me to. I wouldn't mind spectating for a while as well :p
It's a shame I can't race, but oh well, at least I'm still comfortably ahead of Eddy (who's away for vacation and won't show up as well) and he in turn is comfortably 28 points ahead of jelacy :D
But I see the battle for 3rd position still isn't resolved, so I expect you guys to fight for it as hard as you can ;)

Alright, S3:

Drivers Champion: Tom Michelmore (301)

Runner Up: Sebastian Carrington (194)

Constructors Champion: Williams (495)

Most Wins: Tom Michelmore (10)

Most Poles: Tom Michelmore (6)

Most Podiums: Tom Michelmore (13)

Most Fastest Laps: Tom Michelmore (6)

Okay, what I can do is put the summary of S1 and S3 into the individual season stats, but I can't add them to the total for every TC season because we don't know the full amount of wins, podiums etc everyone had in S1 and S3, I can include S2 because we have a full table for that.

Okay I understand BUT: As S1 was pretty much dominated by either me or Tom winning, I think there's a way of including these stats into the overall pic.

And I think we should give Tom credit for winning 2 WDC, so he should be leading this category. No matter if we've got all the results or not.

Back to S1:

Wins: 8 for me, 6 for Tom (made a mistake about Tom's wins before, forgot that Richie won in Australia and a new guy won in Germany)

Poles: 9 for me, 8 for Tom

Podiums: 12 for me, 10 for Tom

FL: Irrelevant

Points: Corrected

Most consecutive wins: 2 (me and Tom)

Most consecutive podiums: Me (6)

I can vouch for these stats.

What I'm trying to say is: All the overall stats will be between Tom, You, Mikey and me. So the only numbers were interested in are the ones of these 4 people, because your stats recquire most wins, most poles, etc.

Calm down lads, let's just be calmer at the start of races, no rash decisions and quick thinking trying to be smart. People race in leagues for clean wheel-to-wheel racing, not to be slammed off by somebody charging into T1.

Also on a completely different topic NOBODY PRESS START TO GO TO THE RACE! It happened in Australia and I think if I was informed correctly it happened again here. The host of the session (more than likely Jamie) will start the race, and nobody else should press it. That's what the text chat is for on the PS3 so we know who's nipping to the loo, grabbing a drink etc and we can wait for them instead of somebody pressing go and some of us still not being ready to start racing.

This need not happen in the future again, you've all been warned ;)
