Had a bit of a go around here... this track makes Hungary look like child's play. There just isn't any room to think, to adjust anything, to look at anything other than the next corner. It's all because the corners are way too slow and there are basically no proper straights.

I'm not complaining, I just think this race is going to be very interesting. I've said before how results could be unpredictable but having this track last... I really have no idea what to expect. :D

If anyone is thinking of not practising for this and just turning up, I implore you, at least have a go at entering the pits. First time I tried it, I missed the entry entirely. Second time, I punctured my tyre and lost my front wing! Third time, I got warped back onto the circuit. Fourth time, I went very slowly and still almost caught myself out! It's extremely unforgiving, I'd say on a par with the Monaco hairpin in terms of tightness, if not worse!

This should be a great race though with no DRS, I just hope there are no more disconnects... I'm already +2 over Henri. :(
Will definitely try some practice laps tomorrow night. It's a very very tricky track.

If I don't finish ahead of Motsew (Lassy) in the last race it will be a real tragedy, so Lassy, don't try so hard :D Panda is way out of my league so I'm not even considering him.

Looks like the racing has taken a backward step. Made a perfectly good overtake then just got taken out. Guy didn't wait either. I was comfortably on for a top 6 finish. Didn't enjoy the race from then on. Apart from a good battle with Rob.

Q - 10th - poor qualifying but wasn't too bothered by it.

Race - 6th - got a stupid penalty while lapping a car that appeared to be on the wet tyre in the dry going extremely slow and I had a car to my outside with DRS and I'm guessing I clipped him while passing. Will appeal that for sure.

Strategy seemed to be the key in this race. I narrowly escaped the T1 carnage but someone (a Merc I think) turned into me spinning me and dropping me to the back after I got ping-ponged around a bit. From there I was trying to stick with Andrew as I knew his slipstream would pull me towards the pack. Was able to keep a fairly constant gap as he seemed to make some mistakes and I would make mistakes but eventually the tyres started to wear. With the threat of rain, decided on a two stop prime stint which worked perfectly as just as the rain came and I started to loose grip, my tyres were at the end of their life. I gained at least three positions from making one less pit stop which was the only saving grace from my pitiful qualifying.

Overall, happy with a decent points finish as the first few tracks are hardly strong tracks for me but hopefully I can make some improvements and score some decent points in those races as well.

Congrats Andy on the season opener win and podium finishers especially Andrew considering the drive he had to make to get there.

Q:5th
R:3rd (4th pen)

My race went from embarrassing to brilliant.embarrassing because I had a good start went around my teammate at t1 after he braked very early but somehow we came into contact and I received a penalty. Gutted it happened and has taken the shine off my race. I dropped to 8th after that but quickly past my old car (mclaren/boldy) and jasper to move into 6th

After that I pushed on and bagged 5th when besty seemed to collide with a Mercedes. Dan lost his wing gifting me 4th and then I had 3rd when woody couldn't stay out as long to wait for the rain. I gambled on inters a lap before most and it worked ok.

My race pace is up there but my qualifying is still poor. Well done to the Williams guys

Q- 1st

Happy with the time, felt like there was less grip with the cloud cover, dunno if that was the case but was half a second off my best

R - 1st

Got a solid start and Gareth tucked in behind me, the goal was just to remain smooth and steady, knew the pace was there if i didnt push too hard. Cant remember how close it was other than Gareth being right behind me until he pitted but i think we had created a small gap to John and Dan.

Once i pitted one of the new guys was in the lead, sorry ive forgot the name, he is in the merc. Closed in on him quickly but had a scruffy lap behind him trying to get past, this meant Gareth was all over me and Dan was right behind him. Eventually got past and a small gap opened up as Gareth and Dan were fighting. I think Dan had gone on to options at this point.

Once we all pitted again i opened up a lead of about 7-8 seconds in this stint, Dan and Gareth swapped places until Gareth was safely back in 2nd place again. Had the engineer telling me rain was coming soon and as Gareth pitted it started to rain lightly, i was pitting a lap later, was tempted to stay out and just wait for it to get so wet i could go on to inters but the gap to 3rd by this point was about 20 seconds so played safe and came in for options. The field was then able to close up, was a big gap until that point. Put in a few laps on the Options and managed to retake first back from Ben. Gareth was closing a bit now and he came in a lap earlier than myself for inters. When i came back out on mine the gap was just under 3 seconds with 2 laps remaining, i know Gareth is quicker than me in the wet so was worried at this point. Kept the gap to about a second on the last lap and on the second to last corner i locked up quite hard nearly gifting Gareth the lead, managed to hold on to it and we came round for a great Williams 1-2 finish.

The race really went to plan for once and i met my main goal (Win more races), so was well happy with that. Had great solid pace and had it stayed 100% dry that would have shown even more on the Options at the end i think. Hopefully the Williams team can keep this form going in to the next few races. Having Gareth as a team mate has pushed me that bit harder and he put in another great performance himself, was fun preparing for this race with him.

See you all for Malaysia

was fun until the rain, just haven't raced enough in the rain to keep it on the track

Good to have you there Dan. Try to practice in the rain (I know, it's a pain) and develop a special setup. I tent to increase wing, soften Spring/ARB and lengthen gears. You were giving HRH a run for his money until the rain came, so I think there is no doubt you can hold your won. Is it ok if we put you on Peter's team? I don't think Ben is coming back. That would give us four solid teams and Peter is a great guy...can give you all the secrets. lol.

(Uploading first 3 lap video now. The abrupt start did not allow me to properly record, but that's probably a good thing).

DON'T FORGET!!!

Next Race is this Friday April 18th around 7pm British Time. Easter Sunday would be a no-go for many, so I figured I'd give some folks a weekday in hopes some could join that otherwise could not.
