I was pretty much trying to regain control of the car having swerved for andrew, I had already been bumped at the start which had pissed me off greatly, it was all a bit confusing to be honest.

I think your right though I should have waited in hindsight, my brain at the time though saw it as the result of an incident up front that wasnt my fault. Reviewing the footgae though I can see why you are dissapointed.

Yeah you had a pretty bumpy start, I can understand you were p*ssed off. I was too, trying to avoid everyone, had no contact with anyone, but that was not good enough after all. :p

Better now than next week in the league race :D People just need to be more careful at the strat of a race. :D
This will be the last thing said about this race, looking forward to the next one, which brings me more luck and especially SPEED. :)... Hopefully! :D

I can count atleast 30 offs for me in that cursed Ferarri only completed 2 Perfect laps 1.39.00
hopedfully in 2011 you get a bit more info on Wet weather

ex. what lap its expected to come in
i dont think any of us could see it starting at lap 3
good race guys

For traction control guys, here's a little trick: Imagine a piece of string tied from your gas pedal big toe to the bottom of your steering wheel; when you turn the wheel it pulls on your foot - and inversely the more you straighten the wheel, the more your foot can press on gas...(hope that makes sense, hard for me to find the right words in english !).

LOL Jean-Francois... never looked at it like that before. Quite good advice actually :)

if I calculated ok Sidney is 8 hours ahead of Zagreb so its ok ok time for me? Early morning. We didn`t discuss assists. I would like if we all have weels and pedals, that we have all assist off (here I think on ABS and TC). Collisions have to be on because I dont like ghosts on a track (thats not F1). People just have to be more careful when they decide to pass and in first corner and everythink will be ok. We all know that race doesnt end in first corner so just patience.

im happy with that lineup sam. as we said before, traction control and auto gears is a must for us controller folk. im picking up a driving force gt tomorrow, but not sure ill be ready to use it without traction by sunday. collisions should be on, although if i get taken out at turn one im sure ill sing a different tune next week, thats racing though isnt it. we just need to remember that trying to carve up the inside ends in tears. that is the one good thing about bahrain though huge runoff at turn one.

btw anyone got a good setup for bahrain i could have for the race? im the same as you jake, i only use setups for tt. no idea how a race day setup changes things, or how wet weather changes it. i have never done a long race before, or done manual pit stops, any advice on entering pits? hate to get a drive through in the first round.

Jean Francois, well written. Walter Rohrl included that advice (and a photo including the string!) in his book on race driving.
It a great metaphor and it quickly becomes automated in your movements. Works brilliantly.

What happened to you at 3/4 race distance? You were approaching disconcertingly quicly and suddenly you were gone?

gutted...but i think i might be forced to sit out another race thanks to the goons that are BT.
Unless they somehow decide to get their finger out and get my router up and working then i doubt ill be ready to race tmrw night.
if anything changes ill update you guys on here tho :/

Excellent race Guys.
The lack of TCS and ABS mixed the pecking order up a little bringing certain drivers skills to the fore and provided a new and rich learning curve to others. First time I've seen light rain all race long.
We had some new drivers to welcome in Ryan and Matt.
Mark Greenall flew and took the win, well done in the wet without assists and you will be rewarded with the great compliment of a slower car!
Dylan drove well to get P2 in the Lotus without his trusty wheel and had to use a controller.
Peter Hooper had his best race of the season I believe? and was leading or with the front runners all race. Peter put FigjamRACER under massive pressure after his first pit stop and with orange front inters and Peters engine noise drowning out all else we chose to take our second pit stop. After the stop we were +14 sec to Peter Hooper. J.F. (Fullizu) arrived from seemingly nowhere in the Silverstone drizzle to put pressure on FigjamRACER but no sooner had I asked him what tyres he was using for such pace he was gone off the minimap. 5-6 laps later and 6 laps from home we had found 9 secs and were +2.9s from HAMMERPGH (Peter). Peter responded and pulled it back to 5 sec. We pushed to the limit in the Sauber on the last two laps and one lap from home it was race on as we were within 3 sec again. We rounded Luffield very close and Peter crossed the line in P3 with 1.7 sec margin after 48 mins of racing. Congrats on what was just good driving in the wet without assists.
It was a tough race but really enjoyable. Hope everyone had a good time. Don't worry if you were off the pace, we all start somewhere and the race was held in a good spirit and back markers did well with blue flag situations.
Everyone is very welcome again next week.

(Take note of JF Mattes advice on throttle control, its never been put better or clearer.

Club Race Concept

” Weekly Club Pro Am”

Many of us are practicing during the week for the Xbox RD F1 WC series League race. This club event is a weekly race at the same track for that week’s scheduled league race.
Who:
· League Racers wanting to practice, test setups, gauge their pace, strategy or possibly practice with less assists on this week’s circuit.
· Club Racers wanting a clean weekly race with some fast drivers.
· New drivers wanting an experience of high quality multiplayer racing without the pressure and commitment of an official league.
What:
Event to serve as both a practice race for league racers and a place for developing drivers to get some experience and fun. The emphasis is on good fun clean racing and a supportive environment for developing drivers. Some of the more experienced drivers will share setups and track tips as well as offer some casual coaching where requested. Open to all licensed RD members (get your license today!).
How:
Format: This week will be race only with a formation lap to establish our planned starting order. 50% Race Distance, 2010 cars issued in reverse rank order (ie handicap) , Sims: Fuel and Tyre Sims on, damage and flags on. Assists: We are planning on taking the actual league races to less assists so Auto, Pit limiter, Pit box only. All others banned.
When:
Thursday nights at 8.45 on XBL for start at 9pm (21:00hrs)GMT+1 British Summer Time
Further Info:
RD rules will apply. This is envisaged as a regular but stand alone club event and points will not be counted to any series. Drivers of all standards are welcome however the same high standard of clean racing and courteous behaviour will be expected and required on track as in a championship race. Newer drivers will get the chance to compare their qualifying and race pace with League racers and learn from them in a positive environment.
Hosting and numbers: Envisaged that hosting will be done on a rotating basis by interested parties. If we get more than 11 drivers wanting to race we will put on two races each hosting ½ available drivers hopefully with a mix of experienced and newer drivers.
Please note: This is a new club event and your input is invited!
PLEASE REMEMBER TO INDICATE name and gamertag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in this thread if you are interested plus other input you wish to give.
Send friend request to FigjamRACER On XBL!!!
Thanks
David O’Reilly FigjamRACER

Dakota,
in the league section each league has various threads and usually a signup thread.
Also you may like to try the Weekly Club Pro-Am. We have some North American racers and many of our drivers are league racers too.
We operate a very strict "mic only" policy and have disqulified race winners who have been found not to have mics.
OK I may have exaggerated a little there but its fruendly and casual and we do discuss setups, strategy, tyre choice etc.
Have a read of the post and you will get the idea.
David (Mic user) FigjamRACER

While I congratulate you on the list I find I must also report you to the RSPCD (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Dragons) for the squashing and stretching of "Y Ddraig Goch". Never in his 1270 years has poor old Goch been so abused, just imagine if we came over to Germany and started jumping up and down on your sausage's! :D
