That's why I suggested we shortened the distance from 50%. The 2nd race tonight was a close finish between 2nd and 3rd. It's a shame a few people had connection issues, and had problems with assists off, etc. Please comment on how you want your race sessions set up, assists, distance etc, and well run sessions to suit you.

Resume from tonigts races to follow when I get home from the pub.

My typing gets hella-sloppy after a night of drinking... I was at least a bit relieved that I was not the only person disconnected from the race. For one reason or another I lost my connection during my second flying-lap of qualifying. I don't care about the distance too much; 20,30,40,50% or what-not, but I do like that some assists are banned. (Personally the automatic gearbox.) Please keep the pit-lane option to either manual or automatic as that can be a killer if you're not used to it - and in my opinion it is not a reflection of a person's ability to be a good 'sim' driver with it enabled.

The way it was today was fine with me. I prefer all assists off because I don't use any; but it doesn't bother me that much that others use some. I rather have other racers with assists then no racers. As for the lenght, for me the longer the better. In a few words: as close to the real thing as possible. Anyway I had a good time today, wish it lasted longer !!

The only assist I use is the brake line and sometimes medium TC (in rain). I dont play often enough to learn all the tracks/brake points. Also in longer races the brake line helps me when I loose my concentration for a moment :)

The Abu Dhabi race was fun , got pushed off the track in the beginning (not a disaster, **** happens) but made it to the podium.

Shanghai was a disaster , first I crashed (cause of no brake line :) ) and then the game sort of crashed (engine sound bug).

So I went to do some time trailing while waiting for an invite for the Brazil race but nothing came :-(

Looking forward to the next races!

Hi Marcel, we all left after shanghai so there was no Brazil, sorry mate. I wanted to watch The Apprentice and James wanted to visit the pub i think hehe.

I caused Dan to get a get a penalty in abu Dhabi due to miss timing my braking up the inside of him into one of the tighter corners, i ran him wide and he got the penalty lol, sorry dan - should of been me!! Theres always less grip up the inside doh!

i dont use assists but must say that i reckon ppl should choose whether or not to play with manual or automatic transmission as i dont see having Auto any form of advantage. i would urge them to learn to use manual though as its much more rewarding :)

I agree racing line and auto gear should be permitted as it doesn't give any real advantages, and people who don't know some tracks still can do the race. Traction control is another debate...But it's ok with me if some like to use it. After all even F1 pilots used it for a while between 2001 and 2008 (the pilots themselves were happy it was banned again in 2008: not as much fun/challenging to let a computer do the work).

Hi Chris, No problem at all mate, I should have gave you a bit more space going into the tight right hander, doesnt really matter mate, it was a ball out there, brilliant fun and doesnt matter. Deffo agree with you all on gearing, like I said on previous threads, we are novices at this, we need a few events so we can understand what to have and not to have. I found having no line was challenging but once you got into it you learnt the lines and the braking zones really well. TC I agree with aswell, hard not to use it but also very easy with so it is a tricky one.

No worries, this is really a show your interest, and like I said in the op, you can miss a few rounds.

This idea is really still In the stages of testing, so once we have an idea of what everyone wants to get out of it, well make a good go of it.
