Hey Steve you said you were doing mid 1:20's in GP mode.. I assume that you mean 1:25's rather than 1:20.5's.... what levels of fuel are those times done with.. just interested so i can get some idea of how far I am off the pace.

Cheers
nope, that's mid 1.20s allright for my PB on quali fuel levels...can't do it consistently yet though :) I was doing 1.22.2 in my career mode Lotus so 1.25 is quite a bit off the pace i'm afraid ;)

Regarding DRS/KERS
I am imagining KERS/DRS fuelled pandemonium on the pit straight at Monaco.
Everyone will be within 1 sec of everyone. It will be like musical chairs along there!

Not sure if I am with you Steve on the effects of DRS in Turkey. There was some great action through the final chicane at one point three abreast! Schumacher getting chewed up and spat out there warmed my heart. I have never forgiven him for ramming Damon Hill at Adelaide and winning his first title standing smugly behind the armco.
Personally having hardly missed a race on TV for 13 years or so I am really enjoying the contrast to the (many) years when a driver would get to about 40-50 metres behind and sit there due to total loss of handling until the very exciting (thanks Murray Walker) pit stop.
We shall see.

I agree it's much more fun to watch F1 this year than before, that's why I said in essence I am a fan of DRS, just in Turkey we saw on many occasions a car just driving clean past on the back straight, getting far enough ahead to get back on the racing line even before the braking zone. DRS, if positioned correctly, allows a following car to get alongside another in the braking zone, then it is still down to who has the biggest balls and skill to brake latest and still make the corner. This was mostly the case in the first 3 GPs, but was just not in Turkey, most overtakes there were done and dusted before entering the braking zone, some good battles notwithstanding.

Oh boy I just don’t know how you get those times!!! My best quali run so far is in the 1:25's and with a full fuel load I am struggling to get below 1:30. How on earth I can find 5 seconds on each of those I just don’t know…. I sorted out my problem around turns 9 and 10 thanks to the track guide and as already mentioned previously I am now pretty comfortable around the end of lap chicane (only 3 spins in around 50+ laps there….). I think I probably lose a fair bit of time at turns 1-3 as I struggle to carry the speed through there that I am able to in Time Trial. I think I am ok at 4 and 5, mostly ok at 7 and as mentioned I am handling 9 and 10 better but maybe losing more time there than I should. The final twisty section is somewhere that I think I can find some extra time… 12 tends to be very difficult to get around quickly but maybe I am just too gentle around there so will focus my attention on finding a bit extra in the final sector next time I get a chance to practice.

My setup for spain aint too bad ive found out by that race we had last night, quite abit of oversteer on exit through T5 7th gear seems to be too long but need to adjust, Darrens message to me after pretty much summed it up, after his happyness with his setup apparently didnt like it lol this could be an interesting race with some surprises i think and Lee, i know you were sandbagging lol
