well im gonna be rusty, i had one sprint race today when they sorted out my connection, got an exam on friday and i dont like the last sector so im expecting to either run around at the back or wall it, or both even lool then again just a finish means points so hey who knows

Sorry that I could not stay but we were more than 40 minutes delayed with all the restarts and dropouts so I had to leave.
I had another time to keep so I would not have been able to do the whole race when it got this much delayed so better to leave now then midrace...anyway, have a good one guys

Sorry to say but i had connection problems and added to the delayed start, i really don't like this track but i was looking forward to this race. thanks to Tracy for hosting it and restarting a couple of times to let me get back in.

Sorry guys for the delays......I was so frustrated .....could not concentrate on the race......in the future I would like people to show up at least 5 minutes prior to race so I can get the field all set so we can start on time.......I had reserves waiting...I must have gotten 35 to 40 messages it's all but impossible to get it going without delays....then you have restarts.......in my future hosted sessions.....the latest I am going to do restarts for " any reason " is going to be 15 minutes past the start time.

Sorry about that Tracy, I also send you a message durning qualify.

Qualifying didn't gave me the time I was hoping for and also the grip of the primes were dissapointing.

Race start, could gain a spot but a couple of corners later, my car just didn't steer into the corner (2 nd gear), went wide and drove half way thru the gravel, lost 3 spots. Italian ended somehow behind me and we had a couple of laps closed together. He tried to overtake me on the outside, I braked normally but was on the dirty side, my brakes locked and he turned in, we made contact. Nothing serious. A couple of corners further there was a car pointing the wrong direction. I choose the wrong side and also span, which costed me a drivethru(!!!????). Took the penalty right away, and from that moment on it was lonely driving my laps.
In lap 19 or 20 it started raining, came in for inters in lap 22, passed some people and ended up as 2nd somehow. In lap 28 or so I should have gone in for full wets, but didn't. The last 5 laps were hell, made dozens of spins.... and still managed as 2nd.

The timer was way of in the last lap it said I was 25 back on the leader, but before I reached S1, he already finished??? Congrats!!

A race to forget quickly, hopefully saturday I will do better else I will be last.

No worries, it's not your fault that some people have very unstable internet connections If people drop out during loading then of course a restart is necessary, it's kind of an unwritten rule but if qualifying is over or at least ongoing ther should not be any more restarts, but that is only my opinion
But I think you have to draw a line somewhere, othervise we could end up in an infinte loop of restarts and people get irritated...

Yes, I know how one gets bombarded with messages as a host, it's simply impossible to answer, or even read them all, so I know how you felt

As I said, I could not stay when it got so delayed, and the time I did in qualy was not good at all, tried a diffrent setup tonight but I obviusly need more practise at this track...

Well hello all......I am posting this to stop future frustration on my part when hosting an RD race........" Please be aware of the following items " 1. If you are not there 5 minutes before start time I can't say that you will have a seat...2. I will not restart any race "for any reason" after 15 minutes past the posted start time, I understand about bad connections but you have to stop somwhere. I could list examples of what happened but that would accomplish nothing...........If you don't agree don't sign up !!!!!..........The reason for this is the horrible time I had with todays race......Read my post under todays catalunya race........I am trying to be good guy and host races but when I become so frustrated that........" For the very first time I totaled my car on purpose "........It is taking away the fun for me.

Guys how do you roll on this track? I just had a sort practice run (around 15 laps) and made around 5 major mistakes. I don't know maybe it was the setup or I just pushed to hard but sometimes I felt my car was running on ice. :\

My first race win!

I dont think I would have won if you hadn't of quit though Zoltan (if you're the mercedes driver).

Anyway I qualified second but lost a place on the first lap to the Renault. I quickly made it up and the top three where seperated by about 6 seconds. Then the Mercedes made a couple of mistakes and I took the lead. Lost the lead to the Mercedes a couple of laps later and they built a lead of 8 seconds or so, then they quit not sure why, did you run-off the track/ puncture?

Pit stops out the way kept around an 8 second gap to the Renault. Then the rain started I tried to go quite long on the hard's so I could jump straight onto the wets and not burn them out. Was setting average times around 0.5 to 1.5 seconds of my best, although I wasn't really taking into account the fuel loss. Renault pitted about 5 laps earlier and took the lead through the stops, really surprised where they got the pace from. To my surprise the Renault pitted again I guess they went onto intermediates instead of full wets (hence the earlier pace). Anyway from that point on it was relatively smooth sailing.

I'm definately interested if you allow auto gears. I currently race in the ARL league (Monday Evenings). If you have a place avaliable and the races dont clash I would love to sign up.

Yes it is allowed. The rules are the same as this race had. Write to the topic of the league and you can find out more info about the league there. I'm sure you will have a seat.

That would be me Richard. Had a good battle with u today at Spain (i was the Renault)...until i struck trouble ! I'm currently editing my recording and will post it on the Catalunya forum sometime today.
