Wow, Piet that is some nice driving... with no Assists hell that is good... im still learning to drive with no Assists it's quiet hard... from your prespective your taking it easy but if i watch guys from my car who has no Assists it looks like they are throttling it all the time.

I second that - I cant get online games to work with the look to apex mod! Let us know what mod you are using please.
It's one I did myself.
I don't like the Realistic Camera mod (rolling horizon, apex look is too far, etc).

Stuff I changed.
- same positioning as RC (eg. slight increase in cockpit view height)
- fov of 55 which means mirrors are nicely visible in a few cars (Lotus, Virgin, Renault, etc) - which is why I pick them :)
- how far looking into apex is reduced to my own preference
- increased the fov of the rear view

Some cars are now ok to drive although mirrors are still an issue (eg. Ferrari, Mercedes, etc).

It seems you can get the looking into apex feature working ONLY if you use a default controller setting (ie. use one of the xml files found in the /actionmap/ folder). Custom controller settings are a no no.
Can upload if that camera view suits you.

Ah yes I remember you have to put the modded 'default' xml for your particular controller in actionmap and make sure you are using the preset in game, rather than a custom. Then if you need your buttons mapped differently, you have to edit the xml - is that right?

I currently use a custom setting, (clutch for brake, various button difference) so I have to redefine these in the modded actionmap xml for my wheel right? I did ask back along if anyone knew where the xml file for a 'custom' wheel setup was kept (as it makes sense I could just copy that portion into the modded default xml file) but I havent had any responses to that.

Download it here.

I've typed up a little readme.txt as you will have to make your own modifications in your controller's actionmap xml file .. have fun

Yes, that is the way to do it.

Ok I wont! Haha. But I would have thought someone would have known where the mapping xml for a custom setup is stored, then it would just be a cut and paste job really!
