Competitions & Contests (merged)

I have another prize for you

Own A Slice Of History In Racing Games
Very rare Racedriver Grid Cap which has not been worn ever. It is sat gathering dust in my draw as i never wear such things. I was given this when i went to Codemasters HQ when Grid was first released to help them out with some problems with the game i and others were experiencing.

I will send it free of charge to anyone who chooses it, it will be via snail mail though as cross continent mail can be very expensive. This is not my cap in the picture mine looks cleaner than that lol, pic taken from a competition page on CM forum

OK, DiRT3 has unlocked already but I did say contest would close on 25th so I think even though there are only a small number of entries it's only fair to wait till tomorrow to see if we get any more.

Regards

Craig

Once when Ken Block was playing Dirt2 he said "If you can see me, you can still give it a shot". But little did he know who he was competing against. The opponent (I) said the same thing, Ken Block stopped & started searching all over the place but (!) he could never see me. To this date he's still wandering through the gravel & mud tracks of Croatia, Malaysia, China & California but has never seen me. But in the meantime I've notched up victories against him.
So it happens that I'm the new Ken on the Block & he's virtually blocked from competing against anyone.

Week 8 - Track Design Competition

Sorry for the delay...

Rules

1. The track must fit within the designated "theme". Any tracks that are too far away from the theme may be disqualified.
2. You may only use real tracks or locations as a base for your design if it is allowed (for this round, it is required)
3. Unless otherwise stated, your track must be a circuit that would be suitable for "normal" racing cars (open-wheel, GT, etc.); no point-to-point races, dirt tracks, oval tracks...
4. You can use any kind of software, image format, diagram, etc. to make your track as long as it is easily readable.
5. All designs must be sent by PM. Any designs posted in the thread without permission will be disqualified.
(If you have any questions about the rules, please ask!)

Theme: One of the reasons I registered for this forum, and was eventually inspired to run this competition, was a topic called "Project Tilke" devoted to designing tracks - one of the activities in that thread, as you might guess from the title, was "converting" tracks so they would be suitable for F1.
The theme for this round is this: take an existing track and modify it so that it would be suitable for F1.

Notes:
1. Obviously, you may not use a track that currently or has recently hosted a F1 race. Most other tracks are fair game; if you have a question, PM me (or ask in the thread if it is a general question).

2. What modifications you make are up to you; I will disqualify any entries that obviously do not meet the theme, but the rest is up to the voters to decide.

Deadline is Sunday, June 12, 23:59 GMT (2 weeks from now). Send entries via PM!

Well done Gabriel Savu! You have won the screenshot competition week 39! Now you can pick your prize :thumb:

Thanks to all participants, and thanks to all who voted :)

REALLY fantastic shots all!!!!

shot1 - Peter Bartfai
shot3 - Steven Ciofalo
shot4 - Edgar Herrero
shot5 - Nikola Ilyanov
shot6 - Lee Palmer
shot7 - Ivar Kalamees

Did you mean "what year"? I would say some time around the 90's... every track after that is probably up to modern standards. If you have any questions about a particular track, please PM ahead of time...

We may seperate screenshot compo into some categories if there are more people think like Steven.

For example: Race/rfactor/gtr2/gtlegends a category, LFS/NetKar/iRAcing a category and F1 2010/NFS/Grid etc... But again there will always be an imbalance between the games. We barely have submits with all of the games are in 1 category, if we seperate them that might be bad. Not sure tbh.
