Do you want to allow all assists, or just set ones, if so what ones?
Driving/braking line will be turned on as I use it.

How do you want to handle connection issues?
I am thinking allow 10 minutes for connection issues, so that is 1 hour in total, but I would like to hear your ideas. I will open the lobby 10 / 15 minutes before the event starts.

One major issue with console racing is the lack of peripheral vision. You are only seeing the 2D image generated on your TV. You don't really have the sense of the car coming up on either side of you, despite your best efforts to use your mirrors and the look left/right options. Then there's the blind spot, where the car isn't in your mirror and you can't sense it alongside your own car.

We can't be expecting everyone to be tippy toeing around at 30 mph to make sure accidents don't happen but then we don't want folks careering in to corners where a safe overtake is not usually available using the dive-bomb technique. My one major gripe with all online racing, be it PC or console, is that some racers seem to think every corner is an overtaking opportunity, whether room is available or not, just because the car in front may be that bit slower on the track.

Watch racing on TV and the drivers usually have a number of corners they will consider making a pass, or wait for the lengthier straights. They are not always trying at every turn to pass the car in front, unless the opportunity arises where the car in front makes mistake allowing the pursuer to make the pass.

Restarts are always tricky decisions, but I think we need a rule in place that we either run without them, and any accidents are reviewed after the races and if it is deemed someone was the major cause, race suspensions are handed out. Or we go with them but stipulate where the line is drawn as to what merits a restart and what doesn't.

:)

Exactly, Daz. Although I don't think people should be driving slower in anticipation of an accident happening ahead. I think it's just a case of having your wits about you and knowing which corners are most likely to cause trouble.

I felt quite comfortable taking the long turn down the hill flat out at Bernese Alps, but if someone was just ahead I would always back off (very) briefly to make sure that any mistakes by the driver in front wouldn't wipe us both out. There isn't a good, safe spot for an overtake until about 2 corners later, so it never disadvantaged me. It's just about thinking ahead and being prepared for a mistake from the guy in front, especially when there's more than one car.

Maybe we should have a vote on it? No restart/restart if 90% of drivers affected, or something. Obviously, an incident caused by ropey connections/game bugs would have to be handled with common sense, too.

Thought I'd make this thread since there seems to be one on most of the other forums. Also, it gives me somewhere to post this:

Wasn't the toughest pass due to the speed advantage I'd gained out of the last corner, but I just enjoyed how I'd managed to squeeze into the gap in front.
