Australia & New Zealand

Auckland

On holiday now, working at a bike shop in Auckland. Hoping to get into Engineering next year at Auckland Uni. Have GTR (bought for $NZ1 off trademe), GTR2, GTL and Race07. Just getting into Race07 and racing online. Will probably get GTR Evo at some point.

sorry to invade the thread. Was the race for GT Legends? That is the only game I have for this site.

I read somewhere that you can only have GTR Evo or STCC, but everything else I've seen implies that's not true. Can someone tell me the truth please?

Someone is spreading wrong info then. Of course you can have both. They both use the same Race 07 game base, and both are basically addons that can run together. I have the Steam version and all run happily together, in fact STCC was an automatic update for my EVO.
If you already have EVO, I recommend just getting the STCC update from Steam, much cheaper that way, only $25 I think.

didn't watch the movie hey Stuart. :laugh2:

No it was Race 07 / EVO. We drove WTCC Cars for that one. We have been asking here about some interest in running some GTL events, but so far not a big level of response. It might just happen though, since I am a big fan of GTL.

yes I saw the movie, top stuff! I wondered where the 'commodores' came from. I thought it was for Race 7. And yes I'm jealous...

Aus/NZ Donations

Hi everyone,

Race Department only runs via donations and can only improve with the backing of its users. In my opinion, the service that we, as racers, receive here at RD is of a very high standard and should be supported.

So I'm putting out a call to all Kiwi and Aussie racers here at RD! I would love to see that 90% of us have donated this month. Consider it a show of force from Down Under (and off to the side a little! :dance2: ) that we truly support those around us. Mateship, so to speak!

We have our own Regional section in the forum, we have our own regional race nights (both Premium and Trial) where other members willingly step aside to accomodate us and we have the opportunity to mix it up on the track with the world's best virtual racers. We have been given plenty by RaceDepartment, so let's see what you can do to say thanks, and remember, "many hands make light work"

GTL Warwick Farm event - Want to re run it for Oceania?

I have posted a new event for the European Timezone GTL Group.

http://forum.racedepartment.com/club-gtl/10735-sandown-under-11-december-2008-a.html

Our recent Goodwood event was very popular and a lot of laughs with the relaxed theme.

Since this is an Aussie themed event, on an Aussie track, I thought our Oceania Members might be disappointed to not be able to join due to the timezone. Therefore, I thought we could re run it in an Oceania timeslot, maybe on a friday night say 12th Dec. Might even get some Euro guys to join too.

Do you want to do this?
How many will turn up?

I'm also planning the following GTL event to be something very close to Aussie hearts (think of a famous mountain track near Sydney), so if we have enough Oceania GTL support, I will make that event a Weekend one so all timezones can join together.
