Yes the drivetrain simulates the need to use the clutch for gearchanging on manual gearbox that need so.
On top of that if you use "automatic" clutch, it is simulated in a way that does everything a manual clutch user will do, AND at the slower timing. Don't want to talk much about it ;) but I think will let everybody happy.

Regarding server configuration of aids ecc... it's logical that we are going to have all that, but I'll let you know more details when the whole implementation is done. Some neat ideas there too, we'll see if they will work as we hope.

Aristotelis, time ago I asked to Classic Team Lotus if in the 49, 78, and 98t drivers can do gearchanges clutchless. Only lift for upshift, and a blip for downshift... That was the answer:

Hi
It is possible to change gear without the clutch and with high revving responsive engines it’s easier that say a turbo engine where there is a slight delay due to turbo lag.
However, both can be done.
Once the technique is perfected, it’s quite easy. The advantage is a quicker gear change. The disadvantage is there is more risk of damaging the dog rings and excessive wear can result in the car jumping out of gear

Kind regards
Chris

Please, take this in consideration if you already didn't it!

The Lotus 49 was unusual in having a synchromesh gearbox made by ZF. This made clutchless gearchanges difficult (impossible?). With the introduction of the 49B, Lotus switched to a Hewland gearbox with its more conventional (for F1) non-synchro gears.

It is also my understanding that while clutchless gearchanges were very possible for non-synchro gearboxes they were not the norm - typically reserved for when there were problems using the clutch.

I just took a shot of how it looks in iphones/tablets or how u call them,im not familiar with them :ninja:
(personally didnt give much attention and thought guys that use the feauture want to see more closely)

I use a similar app on my Samsung Galaxy Note and i find it invaluable.
Using it, i get to reduce clutter on my game screen while playing sims, giving me a better view of the track ahead.

This is really good:thumbsup:

This is one of the 2 things im missing in nKP ... the other is that when braking we cant feel the wheels blocking in the steering wheel FFB ... hope you also implement that in AC:)

Maybe if it is done well it would be nice. Personally I don't like the ABS style vibrating steering wheel to let you know you are locked up.

A more subtle effect might be better......like a dull rumbling that fades out or something.

Surely, when you lock up, the feeling is more numb than anything else. Maybe a pull to the opposite direction to where you are pointing?
Giving a rumble is quite the wrong feeling imo

the feeling should be the same you get in the real car ... if with ABS then ABS rumble ... if no ABS then whatever the real car makes you feel, dull rumbling, polk to the opposite direction, whatever ...

I have never felt the steering wheel rumble or vibrate when ABS activates in a real car. It doesn't happen. The brake pedal itself obviously feels like it is pushing back but the effect cannot be felt through the steering wheel itself.

If anything, with or without ABS, the steering should go a little lighter if you have locked up the brakes.

Any rumbling, vibrating, pulsating or pulling coming through the wheel would be a "canned" effect which only serves to tell you that the brakes are locked up. It is not realistic.

IMO you require only the sound of the tyres squealing to know you are braking too much. Any exagerated effects coming through the wheel are make believe.

That's why I don't want any thing to tell me I am locked up through the wheel other than a slight lightness or numbness. It's fine the way it is in netKar already. No need to add any pretend sensations just to make it easier.

then ... the ones with professional pedals should be able to feel that "pushing back" in the pedals ... i never drove a car with ABS so i have no idea how it feels

Some pedal sets have this feature. My friend has the Fanatec pedals.....not sure which ones......about £100 worth......and the brake pedal does vibrate at a certain point to tell you the brakes are locking.

This is not something I am interested in at all. I always have ABS off in sims anyway......I want to be in control of the brakes 100%. Of course if the car you are driving in the sim has ABS then it may be appropriate........but how many racecars actually have ABS???

Exactly.

Fingers crossed there will be no unwanted "canned" ABS effects in Assetto Corsa. Infact I know there will be none because Kunos did it right the first time. :)

GSC Mini's use ABS, its the most popular sim atm, have a go, you can get used to it quick.

If its there to use, use it, if not, dont. Seeing as i dont have pedals that react to what the road or breaks are doing, clues coming through the steering wheel can be a welcome addition. Some times they can be a right pain in the arse though!

Yeah I have GSC. The Minis are great fun. I do use ABS with them but only so I am not at a disadvanatge.

One good indication of being locked up is the huge cloud of smoke that follows you into each corner!!!:p
