I can join the party now since I finally got nK-Pro! :geek:

I must say, as people told me before, the demo gives a completely different impression than the full version, more precisely, they managed to put the worst car in the demo, I can imagine that didn't help making the game more popular at the time, so I'm glad the tech preview of AC will have a more thought out car.

About nK, most cars are quite nice to drive, the Formulas 1600 and 1800 are a pain, the KS2 is way too "snappy" for me, other than these, the other cars felt really nice to drive, my favorite being the Vintage Replica, that car has so much movement, it's hard to describe, I can only imagine what it will feel like when I get my new wheel in a few days (I'm using a Dual Shock 3 controller at the moment).

By the way, Trento Bondone made me find out you can lose your wheels. I had some spectacular crash there. :roflmao:

Now nK will keep me busy until the tech preview is out. :)

What is DB?

I hope that to activate the TP, you just copy the license map in AC just as we have to do with netkar Pro. Otherwise I won't be able to try the TP.

Try the F1600 with a proper wheel and then you'll be able to give a credible opinion. My father has raced F1600's in the late 80's and he was in awe trying the NKP version, saying the ONLY thing different is the stuff you can't get on a PC (The physical stuff, "seat of the pant feeling"). The steering, braking, handling, everything was as close as you can get to the real thing. He does also race on the XBox a lot (And a bit on PC), so his race car driver opinion as a bit more impact as he knows what's going on virtually !

You cannot remotely assume that something is off in a simulation by using a gamepad, unless it's something blatantly obvious.

Heh, F1600 is the best car for me :)

EDIT: as William pointed out, it's not really a controller game. Heck, it's not even a cheap wheel game, you'd want 900 degrees and FFB :D

Some stuff from Twitter... It is quite nice to read that they know exactly what will probably happen and they think about a torrent which I think is the only way to go if don't own a google server farm ;). And this is only a techdemo :roflmao::roflmao:

David @Dab187187
@KunosStefano so today is the day ?

Stefano Casillo @KunosStefano
@Dab187187 I know the wait is killing you guys but if we give a date and time the servers will blow up just as they did with FVA.

Anders Mårtensson @globalbanana
@KunosStefano Why not use torrents and let everyone help with the upload?

Stefano Casillo @KunosStefano
@globalbanana that is also part of the plan

Well, I didn't say it was the worst because it has bad physics or anything like that, I'm sure it behaves like the real car, what I meant is that, in my opinion, it sucks to drive in comparison to the other cars in the game, at least with a controller, I'll have to wait a few days to see how it goes with a wheel. :)

Between a good wheel and a controller...well, there is an ocean in between :)

I'm sure you're gonna be blown away with the wheel, wish ye lots of fun ;)

Thanks. :)
I bought a DFGT, seemed to be the cheapest of the good ones. As far as I've read, it's good enough even to win races in iRacing, so I guess I'll be fine with it. :D

Edit: Oh sorry Bram. :coffee:

I think 1600 and 1800 are proper fun to drive. Especially on Crema or Prato Short. You can even drift in them! :D (in 1600 especially as 1800 is a little bit twitchy for me).
F2000 is surely the easiest car to drive. Tons of grip, mild engine... Perfect to test new tracks.

On the other hand 500 is a funny little thing but this short first 3 gears frustrates me :p I know it's like in a real car but after some racing in Vintage R it really makes me nervous :D

I thought about plugging in my controller just to see how it felt....couldn't do it though...I promise you this, once you try netkar with a 900 degree wheel with FFB you are going to be like "HOLY ****!!!!"

I was really hoping that with people buying Netkar to get the tp that there would be more people on-line but it's still a ghost town.

I see you have the DFGT on the way...this is what I use and it feels alive in Netkar

edit: crap, sorry Bram
