Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Which chicane version do you use for the race?

(managed to download the track, thanks guys.

Drove it, hated it, deleted it.)
Carsten, my first thoughts on this track were like ‘mwahh’ und ‘mehhh…’ but… after getting a decent amount of laps in (in both cars) I start to like this one, actually. Not that hard to learn, and the finesse seemed to come lap after lap. Could be a fun race Wednesday, I’m very curious how the gap between both cars will be (aliens excluded).

I’d say: give it another go! (But me thinks you’ve allready got it reinstalled again  ).

Your Bouke

Ok guys,

I need your opinion on this. Do you want these events as a monoclass or multiclass?

May I ask Han, why would you switch to monoclass?
Well I thought the cars were so close in performance that a multiclass wasn't necessary anymore. And there have been several events with only 4 or 5 Abarth againts 14 or more Mazda's. We also don't race like a multiclass with rules for passing and so on.

But I have no problem going back to multiclass if the majority wants it.

Mind you, I've set up the Fat-Alfie championship also as a monoclass.

looking back at the last few races the car's look well balanced but I also understand that the Abarth can be very annoying for the MX5 due to there straight line speed.

If you were to change it to a multi class I can't see any one driving any different anyway as the lap times a far to close for an actual multi class setup. Imo.

Thanks for the info Han. I can understand that. To me personally at this moment in time, it doesn’t matter. I’m in my learning year(s), so points are cool but not my main focus. And I like the different natures of both cars and the way one has to deal with the differences on the track.

So, that said, I’m fine with both options at the moment, but that’s from my point of view. And I think it (monoclass) will only work with good continuity of well balanced track choise as well, especially if you want to pour this into a real championship format. Tough choice I guess Han, but you’re doing great at this organizing thing, so keep it up!

To me at this moment both options are cool.

Also have you considered changing the Abarth after the Fat-Alfie championship? to freshen things up a little since the Abarth grid is usually quite small.
Well, I certainly open for it if you know a car that matches the Mazda.
Before the Abarth/Mazda we did with the Audi TT and the Mazda a real multiclass but there was a lot of complaining about driving in those events, expecially at overtaking. With the Abarth those complaint disappeared.

Some of the regulars don't like the Mazda but do like the challenge that the Abarth gives them.
So as this combination has been quite succesful, I'm not too eager to change it. The car that would replace the Abarth has to be attractive enough to keep these grids.

I like the Mazda, and think I might get better results with it. But it feels a bit too easy, whereas Abarth feels more "untamed" which makes it so much fun to drive.
I don't much care if it's multiclass or not, as long as I have fun. And I can't really think of any car that I'd replace the Abarth with, I'm having too much fun with it!

I still couldn't beat Allan's time, bugger...

And now everybody and my brothers brother complains about the straight line speed of these things.
I can live with that as long as it doesn´t cost me positions...

Of course we could always open Pandoras´s BOPs.....
