2012 HRT F112

HRT will not test in Barcelona
HRT will not be ready in time to test this week, the team has confirmed. Having been delayed by the failure of two crash tests, the Spanish outfit had hoped to run its new F112 on Sunday at the Circuit de Catalunya. Unless a filming day can be arranged, it will shake down its 2012 contender in Friday practice for the Australian Grand Prix.
“We won't be able to make it for Sunday,” a team spokesperson explained to GPUpdate.net at the Circuit de Catalunya. “We are now evaluating what other options have we got but we will know more tomorrow.”
The news confirms that HRT is yet to attend any pre-season test session with a new car, having made its debut in Formula 1 at the start of 2010. This year, the squad is running Pedro de la Rosa alongside Narain Karthikeyan, who is retained.
So far, de la Rosa has completed two days of running in Jerez with the 2011 car, whereas his team-mate has not driven an F1 car since the Indian Grand Prix in October.

Oh no. If you suck, can't you start the work on the new car earlier so this doesn't happen? Meh.

Anyway, they should have signed Clos as 2nd driver, not as TD. He can probably drive as quick as Narain anyway.

80% of the employees are new guys, and 90% of the material they have now, has been bought in the last few months. When they ended their contract with Kolles, they was left with virtually nothing. So over the last months they have build up a whole new team from as close as scratch as you are able to be.

HRT to debut 2012 car on Monday

Having narrowly failed to ready their new car in time for the final day of pre-season testing, HRT will now debut the F112 at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya on Monday.

Narain Karthikeyan will be at the wheel for the promotional filming day to put the first few kilometres on the Spanish team’s 2012 machine, which will only be permitted to run on promo-spec tyres. Team mate Pedro de la Rosa and HRT tester Dani Clos will also be in attendance.

HRT had originally planned to debut the Cosworth-powered F112 at the year’s second pre-season test, but were forced to postpone its launch after it failed two mandatory crash tests.

I know what you ment I was trying to kill it since you have such hate for HRT.
Not hate specifically for HRT. Had it been another team in the same situation i would have said the same.

It´s F1 for crying out loud. It´s amateurish to do what they do. A good example of a team entering F1 is Team Lotus/Caterham.
HRT seems to have joined only for the sake of joining rather then really comprehending what they got themselves into.

USF1 anyone?

Yes, it is F1, and this is how F1 always has been. There has always been one, or more teams that have struggled for money. Used an old car. Decided on the drivers in the same week that the F1-season started. People seems to be spoiled from the 2006 season and after. With healthy teams, and artificial little performance difference between the cars.
I'm more biased towards that this is how F1 is. But the way it has been the last years are "wrong".

Minardi struggled for years to get the cars and drivers on the grid, but was always there. Until now the same accounts for HRT..

Back in the 90's there were some real poor teams like Andrea Moda, Forti or Larrousse.. That kind of teams has always been in F1, until the big brands came into play around 2001 BMW, Mercedes, Renault, Toyota, Honda etc..
Now the big brands have almost disappeared entirely, and the sport goes back to its roots..

But the way it has been the last years are "wrong".

I´d say it has been right.
That is how F1, the most prestigious motor sport in the world, the most advanced motor sport in the world should be.
Not having teams that have trouble getting their car to the first race, can´t get pass crash tests (not because of innovative ideas but a fundamental problem in how the car is built)

HRT is a joke and it will be a matter of time before they are out again. And nobody, well except for some here will miss them.
Because they had no idea what they got themselves into like the long list of other jokes of teams that have tried and failed before.

Just look at the insane history the team has had since 2009 before they joined in 2010.
It´s obvious HRT is a bus on the free way where nobody is at the controls.

Quote of the day: "Sometimes we have money, sometimes we don´t"
