There's talk of Red Bull selling Toro Rosso in the next few years.
I guess that is why we see Toro Rosso being more and more independent?

The rumours and talk about the sale of Torro Rosso has been there since customer cars was banned.
I think in the coming years we will see STR sold.
They have already started getting bigger sponsors etc.

In which case Red Bull could pull out within a few years of selling Toro Rosso, unless they start finding drivers outside of their Young Driver Program. It's possible, they achieved their goal of winning the WDC and WCC twice, but I think they'll still stay around now that they've tasted success.

They're getting worldwide exposure at the moment, along with being able to call themselves world champions.

It is like they say, F1 is the biggest advertising pillar in the world.
Everyone, even people who never watches F1, knows that Red Bull is in F1 and winning.
It would be nice if we lived in a fantasy world where we could see all the sales that had come from the fact that it says Red Bull on two cars.

Or Ferrari. I think it'd be beneficial for both sides.
But won't the Ferrari engine cost a lot more then the VW engine plus we are talking about a team with a very small budget.

From HRT's point of view, yes it's an investment, but they're going to be routed to the bottom of the championship if they stay with Cosworth.
From Ferrari's point of view, it's an extra $8m in their pocket and more exposure.

Yea but how much TV coverage did they get back then being mere sponsor compared to being 2-time world champions.
Back then it was all Ferrari/Mclaren. Now RBR is mentioned in the same sentence as the big two.
