Awesome Q. Bit of a mess. But thats always with the first races of the season.
Kimi and Ferrari were a huge dissapointment. Great to see Red Bull doesnt have a very dominant car, but a more matched now and great to see Michael having a good car this season. Cant wait for the race.

Hope btw the slow cars cant start. They are just grid filling atm like last year. Enough is enough.

We've seen the quali now and it was a cracker.
Nice to see two Aussies in Q3 and Webber beat Vettel. (if this was F1 2011 the Game Co Op Vettel is #2 driver now!)
Clear who has pace MacL and MacB and who has homework to do (RedBull) and who turned up with totally the wrong textbook (Ferrari).
not going to spend much time debating the obvious about who clearly has a fast and well balanced car except to say that the statements that talk of RedBull not winning being "ridiculous" but tail happy RedBulls not having it all their way this season is mildly contradictory friends!

One really fun thing tommorrow will be the unknown of tyre degradation/management. Wonder who of the Maclaren lads will have a grip on that.
Kimi has a fast car and lots of tyes. maybe do a Webber at China?

Unlucky Sauber! :( They were going good until Alonso's incident. I hope they will climb up nicely tomorrow. But it's a little hard with a so close performanced field, let's hope for a accidentful (not serious and dangerous ofc) race :D

Vettel cant win without exhaust being blowned.
Everyone even said he looked desperate on Q.
The fduct is legal in my opinion, Newey is just crying cuz he didnt think of it just like 2009, sore loser
Ross Brawn mentioned something a out teams still using the EBD system...now thats intwresting,
Newey covering that Eb issue with his whining,
Brawn ur the man, put him in his place.
Lol at Ross here, is one Q, stop defending Vettel, he car is not up to par or else RB wouldnt b whining against MERC. Lol fail attorney here.

Hmm how did he do it then in 2010? :p

Simple. A barely legal car, flexing wings and they had already implemented the blowing exhaust bit not exploited to the extent of 2011, and also
The bad call of Ferrari at abi dhabi, thats how. And also by creating a new chassis to fit Vettel needs by Singapore, which Mark complained about it, so there ya go.

Massa says F2012 worse than Ferrari expected

Felipe Massa believes Ferrari's woes may be worse than they had initially feared, after neither driver made it through to the final qualifying session.
"Clearly we are behind, maybe more than we had expected and there are other teams that have improved a lot compared to last year," he said.

The Brazilian will start 16th whilst his teammate Fernando Alonso starts 12th, giving the team once of its worst ever qualifying results.
"I am very disappointed: this is not the start to the season I was expecting or hoping for," said Massa.

Whatever the edge RedBull had in 2010/2011 it had one.
Vettel proved he was faster than Webber in the 2011 car. In 2010 Webber very nearly won except for that error in (Korea ?)
He now has a huge challenge to do what many wanted to see if he could do... to win in a car that is clearly not the fastest.
To be put up there on a skill basis with Hamilton and Alonso.
We are in for a great season as he attempts it.

I suspect McLaren will run away with the vast majority of the races this season. Their car appears to be the only car with any real grip. Still waiting to see how their car does with the tires in race conditions. Of course Button has a reputation of being good to his tires. Will Hamilton's speed prevail this season? or will Button's good race pace and tire management prevail? Mercedes appears to be the 2nd best car and this could be the year Nico finally wins a race. Something is not right at Red Bull. Compared to most of the field, Red Bull is still good, but it looks more like the early season 2009 car and not the 2011 version. The biggest surprise for me watching qualifying last night was Romain Grosjean. He looks ultra competitive. Was Kimi that complacent or is Grosjean that good? He's probably not good enough to beat the McLarens, but definitely good enough to take points away from Red Bull. As a fan of Red Bull racing I suspect I am going to have to lower my expectations and accept that McLaren, Mercedes and possibly Lotus have the better cars. However if there is a silver lining for me, it's that Ferrari sucks. I used to cheer for Ferrari in the Gilles Villeneuve era, but I hate them now.
